Suddenly, Marlene feels an urgent tug, and opens her eyes in surprise. Antione's eyes are bright and happy, and she doesn't want to ruin them. But she has to go.
"Oh, crap. I don't want to ruin anything, but I left my physics book in Hayley! I have to go - but I promise I'll be right back. I'm so sorry." She lies, rushing out the door and into the nearest bathroom. Letting her dress flow around her and her wings unfold, she clambers out the window and takes to the sky.
He watches her go, his eyes saddening before he feels a tug in his gut. He leaves the house, snapping his fingers and allowing himself to envelope in shadows as he rushes towards the tug. He had a purpose to fight now. A reason.
It's a robbery. And someone's been hurt. Marlene notes, flying down to observe the scene - an old Victorian-like house, half of it on fire, with police cars, fire trucks and ambulances surrounding it. Her gut pulls her to the third ambulence, where she shakes open the doors and admits herself. Oh, no. A bullet to the collarbone. The victim, a middle-aged father, was lucky he didn't die straightaway.
He makes it to the scene, smirking a little. "As usual, the angel beats me. Unfortunately, this seems like a natural disaster, so you can go home now." Reaper says casually, flicking his scythe.
"A natural disaster? This man has kids. Just because some stupid, terrible robber decides to show up and shoot him doesn't mean he has to die!" Angel huffed. She got emotional easily.
Reaper rolls his eyes, "You got to save a life. My turn to take one. It's the only way to keep balance." Reaper sighs, "So. We can do this the easy way, or the hardway. What's it gonna be?"
Angel grits her teeth. "The hard way." She backs up, making a shield between the injured man and the Reaper.
Reaper groans and rolls his eyes, "For gods sake…" He mutters. "Fine." He swipes his scythe at her.
Angel doges the lethal blow but not without the loss of a couple of feathers from her enormous white seraph wings. She attempts to grab the scythe's handle as it swishes past her.
(I'm doing to die for the night)
(Alright)
He manages to keep his scythe out of her grip. "C'mon. It's only fair." he says, growling at her.
(nvm)
"Why can't you just move to…I don't know, Australia?" Angel grits her teeth, spreading her massive wings, guarding the injured man.
"Australia, hmm? How interesting, unfortunately, another reaper has that country." He says shrugging. "I was assigned here, you damned angel. Now, if you'll excuse me, this man has had his time."
"It was decided wrongly by another man. He didn't do anything wrong." Marlene turns around and starts to quietly sing.
"Ah ah ah!" He throws the scythe at her. "None of that pretty little singing." He growls, glancing towards her. He leaps over her and onto the counter next to the man with his life supply stuff. He places the scythe to his neck.
Marlene rips away the scythe, cutting her hand deeply across the palm in the process. She flies up and knocks him against the far wall, spilling the medicines on the shelf. It's just then a medic comes in. Of course, all she can see are spilled medicines, a shadow, and a humanoid figure of light on either side of her patient. She screams and runs out.
Reaper clicks his tongue as he stands, "Ah ah, that was a no no, my dear." He leaps forward, grabbing her and throwing her across the ambulance, before landing next to the man. He places his hand on the mans forehead.
"NO!" But Marlene's shoulder blade sears with pain as she tries to stand, rendering one wing unable to fly. She can't even force herself up as the life fades from the man's body.
Finally he whispers, "Rest." He feels a slight shiver through his body as the mans spirit leaves. He looks towards Angel. "Have a good evening." With that, he fades, reappearing close to the dorms. He lets himself return to his human form and walk back into the dorm, humming a little.
Sheer anger fuels Marlene to get up, even though her wing blade is screaming in pain. She cannot fly, nor teleport. So she pushes against the ambulance doors until they open, when she falls to the cement. Groaning, she summons enough energy and her body forms into a wisp of a cloud, which rises above the ruckus and back to the dorm.
Antoine is currently working on dessert, humming lightly. Dinner and a dance. Now for some dessert to celebrate his victory against the Angel. He couldn't help wondering where Mar was.
Practically dragging herself in with a profusely bleeding hand, Mar entered the dorm again. Her mind raced for a cover-up story. "Drunkards." Was her one-word reply before collapsing on the couch.
He starts when he sees her. "Oh my god… are you okay?" He grabs the first aid and rushes to her side, grabbing her hand and starting to tend to it.
"Eh. Might have cracked a shoulderblade. They pushed me."
