He rolls his eyes. "Uh huh. And I part time at Olive garden. You wouldn't believe the amount of people I have to throw out. Besides, its on the other side of the town. The uh… ya know. "Darker place" He wasn't wrong, there were plenty of gangs there, so he had a strong case.
Marlene rolled her eyes. "I still don't believe you, but I don't want to argue with you." She got the warm corndog out of the oven and stuck a skewer through it. "See? Perfect homemade corndog!"
His mouth waters, "That actually looks really good." he says, laughing a little bit.
"You want it?" She offers it to him. "I can eat something else for dinner."
He chuckles, "No, no." The kettle whistles loudly and he starts, grabbing it and taking it off the stove. He hums as he grabs the tea bag. Peppermint.
Marlene shrugged, slumping on the couch again and chewing on the corndog. It was delicious, just as Antione had predicted.
(kay so we need to make a plan, how is their relationship going to develop?)
Hmm… what do you suggest?//
"Itadakimasu." He mutters, after making his tea and his dinner. Aka, left over Asian food.
"What does that mean?"
(maybe some more low key flirting and then they think o crap he's cute and then that goes on for a bit more flirting, less low-key, and then suddenly kiss? idk I'm bad at this)
Sure!//
"Oh, I humbly accept. I stayed with a Japanese family for a while and it was what they said before eating." He shrugs and starts to eat.
"You're turning out to be pretty interesting…" Marlene mumbled, chewing some particularly rough bit of sausage.
He chuckles, "Not as interesting as you, princess." he says, laughing as he glances at her.
Marlene glances up at him. Instead of acting offended, she smiles. "Good to know."
She looks up at him, actually focusing. "Do you really think that?" The radio plays in the background.
"Yes ma'am." Antoine eats happily.
"Hm. It sounds as if you're…oh, I don't know…low key flirting with me?" Marlene giggles, which was not part of her plan - but oh well.
He can be kind of cute, can't he, Marlene? Marlene thought, and she shooed the thought out of her mind. But it came back. Well, I guess. But it's not like-
I see how it is. She and what she truly thought argued in her head.
Quietly he pushes his dinner aside, "I love this song!" He says cheerfully. Antoine smiles, "May I ask for this dance." He bows and offers her his hand.
"I kind of suck at dancing. I guess they teach that in French schools, though." Marlene didn't say no, though, and got up.
"No, I taught myself actually." He laughs a little. "Just follow my lead."
"Alright, I guess." Marlene took his hand and the two began to dance, Marlene stepping on his feet every five seconds.
He chuckles, "Just relax and close your yes. I know this sounds silly, but the music will guide you." Antoine chuckles, setting his hand on her waist, guiding her hand to his shoulder before lacing their fingers together and teaching her to dance.
"I feel extremely stupid." Marlene mumbled, nearly tripping over his foot. "How is this better? I can't see crap."
"Just listen. Let me guide you." He says gently. "Stop focusing so much and just let me lead you." He says gently.
"Hmph." Marlene huffs, but does as he says, and soon she's dancing. Actually dancing. To an 80's rock song.
He laughs, "There you go!" Antoine smiles, his eyes bright and happy.
