Marlene furrows her brows. "You're getting so many injuries, you deserve a treat. Come with me, you can get something special." She twirls her car keys around her finger.
Marlene furrows her brows. "You're getting so many injuries, you deserve a treat. Come with me, you can get something special." She twirls her car keys around her finger.
He looks up at her, "Why exactly are you… rewarding me for getting hurt?" he asks, his eyebrow lifted in confusion.
"I'm not rewarding you, I'm trying to make you feel better."
"Ah… thanks… I think?" he stands and stretches, hissing in pain.
"I could ask for more," Marlene replied, tugging on her angel flats and stealing glances at those captivating eyes and the body that just seemed to flow - STOP! She though.
He nods and walks beside her, "Shall we go then?" he asks, offering his hand to her in a polite kind of way.
She took his hand, a slight blush creeping up. "Oh - yes."
He chuckles and walks her out to the car, humming a little as he does so.
Once in the car, Marlene pulls out of campus with a screech and a bump. "I'll warm you beforehand that Hayley and I can get…reckless on the road. Hayley's the car. She's my dad's old Toyota and she's been ready to kick that bucket for years now." She veered around a turn violently.
"Good to know." he says, clenching the edge of his chair. He knew this was a bad idea.
(Im in school so ack)
"You'll be fine. Here." Marlene took his hand for assurement.
(Same)
"Hands on the wheel!" He squeaks, watching the road.
"Have you never ridden in the front seat before? We'll be - fine-" Marlene insists, making a very sharp turn. She was just making excuses not to take her hand of Antione's.
He clutches her hand. "Good God! Slow down! We're gonna get pulled over!" He looks at her, his eyes wide.
"Nah, police only ride on highways. What takeout do you want?" Marlene asked, Hayley's engine giving a lurch but still managing to whiz along the campus roads.
He bends over, wincing, "Uh… asian… of any sort." He manages, hissing through his teeth at his pain.
"Okay. Do we need to stop at CVS to get anything for you?" They skidded to a stop at a red light, and Marlene clutched her shoulders and hip, which were still pretty major bruises. "Me too, apparently," She grumbles, wincing.
"No not really." He says softly. "Let's just eat, yeah?" He glances at her.
She looked at him. "Sure. Do you have bandages at home? We might need to make a stop for me." She took the wheel again as the light flashed green.
"Yeah, I do." He says, grimacing a little.
"Alrighty then. I might need a bit of help applying them as my arms are kind of the things injured. Not that I can't steer." Hayley veered around the roundabout, the old car's rusty edge skimming the pavement.
He nods and sighs, shaking his head tiredly.
"Are you okay? You seem kind of…I don't know…depressed?" Marlene asked in concern, pulling up to the drive-thru of Panda House.
"Exhausted is all." he answers, his stomach growling in hunger.
"Well, we'll get you some food and sleep." Marlene ordered and drove to the window. Hayley's breaks squealed, even from the light pressure.
