Marlene spent most of engineering crafting a in-your-pocket slingshot that she could put a stone in. It would prove useful to fight the reaper with her sore wing.
She felt a tug halfway the explanation of the different types of axis.
"Mrs. Senseman?" She asked. "May I go to the bathroom?"
The teacher nodded, and she rushed out of class, to the bathroom, changing and letting her wings stretch. They took her out the window and to the park, where a child no less than six had fallen out a tall tree. She grabbed a stone lest the reaper show up.
Reaper was already on the move, since it was his free period. He follows the tug, humming absentmindedly.
The Reaper? Already? He hadn't seen her yet, so she began her singing, trying in vain to heal the boy before he arrived on the scene. She made sure her slingshot was loaded - she couldn't fly very well without straining her bandages and eventually popping the stitches Antione had given.
The reaper lands. "And so we meet again angel. We really must stop meeting like this."
Angel scowled behind his back, ready to turn around and fire. He was late, if only she could hold him off, she could finish before he came too close.
He raises his scythe. "Move."
"Nope. Nopitty-nope nope. All the nopes." She turned and fired, the heavy stone cracking the wooden handle in half. The scythe snapped. Perfect shot! She went back to singing.
(You can't break a reapers scythe)
(welp a doo it hits his face then. Lemme fix it. OOOH HOW BOU' HE FADES???)
Oh my god… YES AND SHE SEES HIS FACE//
(AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHYESSSSSSSSS BUT SHE CAN'T TELL HIM WHO SHE IS UNTIL HE GRABS HER AND SHE BLACKENS A BIT SO HER WINGS DON'T SHOW AND BAM IT'S MARLENE IN A DRESS)
(YESSSSSSS OMG THE FEELS)
(okay okay calm down Rumple callllmmm here we go)
"Nope. Nopitty-nope nope. All the nopes." She turned and fired, the heavy stone cracking the wooden handle in half. The scythe snapped. Perfect shot! She went back to singing.
(Scratch that!)
"Nope. Nopitty-nope nope. All the nopes." She turned and fired, hitting the edge of his eye, barlely missing blinding him. The black hovering mist went away for just a moment. Reaper turned to hide the side of his face, but not before Marlene saw. She almost fell over in surprise.
"Antione? No? Uh-nuh. You're not Antione…are you?" She asked, staggering backwards.
He stumbles back, feeling a sharp pain in his face. He falls back, blood trickling from his temple. His breathing is shaky. "Ngh…" His cloak is faded and gone, revealing himself.
There was no denying it now. "Antione! Just wait until I…tell Marlene!" Inside, Angel was seriously flipping out.
He reaches his hand towards her, "Don't… I don't want to hurt her…" He whispers. coughing harshly. He was fading slowly.
I'm already hurt, Angel thought, then realized that the Reaper - Antione - was going to completely fade if she didn't do something. She rushed over and looked over him, not knowing how to stop the shadows that were slowly drawing back.
He grabbed her wrist gently.
"Ay! What-" She looked at him. "Tell me how to help you."
He shakes his head, then his eyes widen. "M-Mar?" He asks softly.
"Wait - what?" Marlene turns around - her wings have blanked to the point where they are hidden behind her back. She doesn't look like Angel anymore - she looks like Mar. She turns back around.
"Y-yeah, it's me."
He looks at her. "N-no… You mean… I've been hurting you… this whole time?" He removes his hand, groaning at the pain in his head.
"And I've…been hurting you?" Mar's eyes soften.
