“ Yeah, though there's a problem. Corbins coming..”
“ Yeah, though there's a problem. Corbins coming..”
"He knows about the spells we're trying though, doesn't he? It shouldn't be a problem."
“ I just don't want him seeing me get the shit beat out of myself if this fails.”
Lorenzo sighed softly. "Well, hopefully you're good enough at this stuff that you won't anyway. Besides, anything we do should help at least a little."
“ yeah.. “ his mind was elsewhere. He was worried about bringing corbin, but the though of him getting hurt and corbin rushing to help..and corbin.. Corbin getting hurt.. His eyes pricked with tears
"Look, let's just try to get as much work done now as we can so that this stuff is pretty fine tuned by tomorrow. How does that sound?" Lorenzo asked. "I'm sure Corbin and Nathaniel can entertain themselves for a while."
“ y..yeah.. “ he said and stood, waiting for Lorenzo to start what ever he needed.
Lorenzo returned to his work, flipping through the pages of his books and occasionally mixing ingredients together to create a functional mixture.
Kyro practiced his water bending. He was extremely powerful when he was giving the chance to fight back
After a while, Lorenzo sat up, seeming to have concocted something. "Alright. Try this." He handed a vial to Cyrus. "You should be able to use your magic through this. It's invisible, and clings to your body. You'll probably notice it, but your dad shouldn't."
“ kay,” he said “ do you want me to try it now?”
Lorenzo shrugged. "Might as well give it a go. I wrote down the ingredients so I can remake it."
“ Alright.” he took the vile, waiting for Lorenzo to take his best shot.
After a second of considering, Lorenzo opted to use water as well. He wasn't looking to damage the house much, after all, and he just wanted to make sure the spell worked. He formed the water into a whip and flicked it at Cyrus.
Cyrus raised his arms out of reflex, though when the whip hit him nothing hurt, he was honestly surprised
"How was that?" Lorenzo asked, still holding the water whip. "With your father, you'll have to pretend he's doing something so he doesn't get suspicious. Try using your own magic."
“ I didn't feel it,” he answered the first question, when Cyrus tried to bend the water at first it was unstable, he couldn't quite form anything. Though once he got the hang of feeling for the new shield he grabbed some water, faking redundancy and dropping it as Lorenzo's feet. He then turned it to ice bicycles, caging him like a bird
Lorenzo simply watched, not bothering to put up a shield or anything. This wasn't training, and he knew Cyrus wouldn't actually try to hurt him. "Good." He said after Cyrus made the ice cage. "It seems like it works, then."
Cyrus nodded and took them down, putting the water back where he got it from. He felt the shelf go down only a couple of minutes after “ dosn't last long..” he noted
"There are ingredients that can increase the time the spell is in effect for. Nothing is going to last more than a few hours, for the most part." Lorenzo shrugged. "We can work on the specifics."
“ okay, I'm going to go out and find corbin.” he said softly and went to go find his crow
"Alright." Lorenzo stayed in the room to keep working on the magic. Corbin and Nathaniel looked up from their conversation when Cyrus returned.
Cyrus gave a soft smile to corbin. “ we got it figured out” he said to the other and sat by him
"Oh, that's good! Are you gonna be using it tomorrow, then?" Corbin asked softly. "We'll have to come back here tomorrow morning before we go, I guess…"
“ yeah, “ he pulled corbin into a side hug
