“Better now?” Vaughn asked, his voice slightly muffled. He tilted his head backup to look at Kaz, a slight concerned frown on his lips. He ran his hand through Kaz’s curls, the other staying around his waist.
“Better now?” Vaughn asked, his voice slightly muffled. He tilted his head backup to look at Kaz, a slight concerned frown on his lips. He ran his hand through Kaz’s curls, the other staying around his waist.
Kaz nodded. "Yeah," he mumbled, leaning slightly into Vaughn's touch. Vaughn being next to him and not yelling at him definitely helped, and he could feel himself finally stop shaking
“Good,” Vaughn said softly. He continued to rub at Kaz’s back for a moment before letting go. He sat up in bed, rubbing at his eyes and stretching his shoulders out. “At Least my neck doesn’t hurt anymore,” he mumbled, feeling at the back of his neck.
(Question, how long should it take for the abilities to set in?)
(well I was going to wait for the others to get online, but basically the abilities are supposed to set in after they get radiation treatment)
Kaz nodded, sitting up as well. He already missed Vaughn's touch, but he mentally cursed himself, telling himself he was being too need. Or was it Kaon? He wasn't quite sure where his alternate personality had gone, but he was glad it wasn't screaming in his head at the moment
(Alright, cool)
Vaughn got out of bed, stepping over to his bag. He pulled out a change of clothes and reached around to grab the back of his shirt. He pulled it up and over his head, stuffing it aside. He had been right when saying that his skin had plenty of scars. Most looked smaller and shallow, though one or two looked like the causes of the scars had been deep. One particular scar on his right side, right in his ribs, looked to be more on the circular side instead of a jagged line. He didn’t seem to mind showing the scars. Then again, he was always good at hiding his insecurities.
Kaz glanced over at Vaughn, his eyes widening slightly. Vaughn was covered in a lot of scars. He didn't mind that, really. He actually thought it was kind of hot. Though he couldn't help his curiosity at the circular cut on his ribs. "Hey, um. What's the funny scar on your ribs from?" he asked. "Not that you have to answer, I mean," he added quickly
Vaughn looked over, raising his arm so it was easier for him to see. “Bullet wound,” he answered simply, shrugging on a white long sleeved button up. He remembered what happened clearly. A man he had gone after happened to have a gun. And, well, it was obvious what happened next.
Kaz nodded. "That's pretty rough," he said, getting up and walking over to his duffel bag. He began to throw some clothes on, a ripped grey tank top and a pair of camo cargo pants. He slipped his hoodie back on before tugging on his shoes, making sure they were tied before getting up and sitting back down next to Vaughn
Vaughn pulled on his black slacks, then slipped his belt on. He had snuck a few glances at Kaz when he was changing, but he would never admit that. He sat down next to Kaz, feeling uncomfortable because of the silence between them.
"Well, um. You think we'll mutate soon?" Kaz asked to break the silence, shuffling slightly in place as he tried to keep things from getting awkward between them
“I have no clue. I hope not,” Vaughn said, leaning back against the bed, feet still on the floor. He rested his arms behind his head, looking up at Kaz with a heavy gaze.
Kaz felt his face heat up slightly beneath Vaughn's gaze. He cleared his throat, laying down slowly to avoid hurting himself. His arthritis had a nasty tenancy to make itself particularly horrible in the mornings, and he was a little too low on painkillers at the moment
Vaughn noticed the slowness in Kaz’s movements and frowned tightly. “You need some medicine?” He asked, turning his head so he could properly look at Kaz while they spoke.
"M'fine," Kaz murmured, turning to look at Vaughn as he smiled. "Just a little arthritis is all. Took a dirt bike to the knees a few years ago, messed up my joints."
“Take some of your pain pills,” Vaughn suggested, his expression concerned. He would give Kaz a bit of his own medication again if it was needed. He didn’t want Kaz to be hurting.
"Pills stopped working a while ago. I tried taking some right after the injection and nothing happened. All I get is a tiny high," Kaz grumbled. "Nothing works and everything hurts."
(Hi everyone, do y'all know where rebel is?)
(Nope)
“What about the stronger stuff that I gave you?” Vaughn asked slowly. He only had two small vials of it, but if Kaz was in pain, he could spare a bit more.
“Dunno. That might help, but you don’t have to,” Kaz said, wincing as part of his lower back ached when he tried to move
“No, no, it’s fine,” Vaughn insisted. He sat up and dug through his bag, taking out the red taped vial and a syringe. He filled it with the strange colored liquid, leaning back down to lay next to Kaz. He tilted Kaz’s head to the side, pressing a few kisses to the side of his neck before sticking the needle into his skin. After injecting the medicine into his system, he set the syringe aside.
Kaz winced at the feeling of the needle. He felt his body start to grow heavy, the pain in his bones lessening gradually. “Thanks,” he mumbled softly, looking up at Vaughn with lidded eyes
“Anytime,” Vaughn murmured in a quiet tone. He layed back down next to Kaz, arms slipping around his waist. He pressed a few more gentle kisses to the side of Kaz’s neck, smiling against the skin.
Kaz giggled quietly at the kisses, a wide smile crossing his face. “You’re ‘dorable when ya get all sappy,” he mumbled, his words slightly slurred from the medication
“I have to be, gotta make you feel good when you hurt,” Vaughn said softly, his lips traveling along Kaz’s jawline. He pressed a quick kiss to his lips before trailing back down to his neck.
