"Mkay, but you better finish what you started when we get back," Kaz hummed, sliding off the bed and walking over to the other one. He grabbed his hoodie off the bed, debating whether or not to put it on before deciding against it

“If I feel like it,” Vaughn hummed with a slight chuckle. He stuffed his hands into his pockets as he watched Kaz before walking over to the bedroom door.
"If you don't, well, I'll just have to help you feel like it," Kaz purred smugly before opening the door for Vaughn. There was a heavily equipped man on the other side, whose hand was raised as if to knock on the door.
"About damn time. You kids take longer than anyone to get ready for testing," he huffed
Vaughn chuckled a bit at Kaz, but scowled heavily at the man's words. "Testing? What is that supposed to mean?" he questioned warily.
"Dunno. Just hope we get back before too long," Kaz said with a shrug. The man in front of them lead them down the hall, and as they walked, more guards began to surround them. Kaz gulped nervously, but he played it off as best he could
(This next bit will be illustrated from a narrative POV, describing what the boys see)
Tenor gets dragged out into the hallway, kicking and biting. The guards handling him have thick leather gloves, a few of them already staining red around puncture wounds. With his mouth already stained red, it takes three of the larger guards to restrain him. One of the scientists comes around to check on him, and reels back, hand dripping. A sickening noise echoes as a finger falls to the ground. When Tenor twists around, he manages to lock bright eyes with both Kaz and Vaughn. With a heart wrenching cry his eyes fill with tears as they manage to muzzle him, falling limp moments later from tranquilizers.
Vaughn walked down the hall, body tense. His fists clenched, and he wondered how easy it would be now to be able to slam some of the guards through a wall. He slowed though once he saw Tenor, a sick feeling flooding his chest. "Jesus Christ.." he muttered.
“Just…Don’t stare. Staring is never a good idea in these situations,” Kaz muttered as they were led into an elevator. The man who had gotten them from the room seemed to glare at them through his shades for a moment before minding his own business
(Still in narrative, as Tenor is knocked out)
In the elevator, the scent of blood intensifies, with the scientist clutching at the hand missing his finger, muttering curses under his breath. Tenor is hanging limp, being held up by two of the guards, blood drying around his mouth. In sleep he looks more peaceful than the boys have ever seen him, looks young and childlike.
One day back and already they're taking me for testing, Jules thought. Can't a girl get a break? She walked with them peacefully, not fighting, not straining, just listening. Her mind was a jumble of thoughts; words and sentences' alike. Never stopping, never quieting. It was breaking her. She longed for a match, or soundless sleep, but she knew those things were far off. She was escorted into an elevator, and there was the unconscious form of her roommate, Tenor, she thought, as his name came to her. There was blood everywhere but she didn't care, it smelled different when it wasn't burning, it intrigued her. There were a ton of guards in the elevator yet no one stopped her when she crouched down next to him. I must look harmless now, she thought, thinking about her sunken and beaten appearance, Let them think that, let them get a nice surprised.
Vaughn's jaw was clenched as the smell of blood seeped into his nose. You should be the one causing so much damage, the whispers sneered, reminding him that he forgot to take his medication.
Kaz kept silent, glaring at the guards as they reached the lower floors. They were escorted out through the elevator and into what appeared to be an artificial park. There were others outside as well, and bits of the lawn appeared to be replacing themselves
