"I-I'm Lloyd. Lloyd Windsor." He shook Kenzie's hand politely. "Thanks again… usually those guys are all talk, but they seem ticked off about something… I guess they decided to take it out on me because I cant fight back for the life of me." He laughed weakly, looking away.
Kenzie turned to face the girl who'd just appeared and shrugged. "I don't know, but I should talk to my uncle about it," she stated.
“It wasn’t a problem at all, glad to help. I’m Veda, also,” she said quickly. She glanced at the girl who just walked up. “My guess is heroin or some drug like that,” she commented, shrugging her shoulders.
"I've seen them smoking something after school, but from a distance that it was difficult to tell whether it was just cigarettes or something… stronger…"
"Great. Uncle Lance won't like that…" Kenzie muttered under her breath.
Veda let out a brief whistle and shook her head. “Yeah, we’ll, they’ll get what they deserve from that,” she said in the dark style joke.
Lloyd could hear Kenzie mutter something, but couldn't tell exactly what it was. He decided not to ask and just stood awkwardly, feeling extraordinarily out of place with the older students.
Kenzie looked at the younger boy and smiled. "So, what's your name, kid?" she asked gently.
(Wait, I think he already said what his name was lmao.)
(Whoops! Ignore that, then…)
"Er, Lloyd Windsor. P-pleasure to meet your acquaintance." He bowed his head slightly before flushing in embarrassment, realizing how strange that must seem. Honestly, who but him would say 'Pleasure to meet your acquaintance' instead of something normal, like 'nice to meet you'?
(Nah I'll just respond lol)
(Oh, ok.)
Kenzie's smile grew. What a nerd, she thought happily. He's funny.
"Oh, no. The pleasure's all mine," she argued, curtsying to him.
He flushed harder, feeling like he was being mocked even though he knew that wasn't her intention. "I-I'm sorry, that must be strange… I mean, nice to meet you?" He offered awkwardly.
Veda watched the pair and stifled a laugh. “It would be great to stand around and laugh for the rest of the school day, but I’ve got to go find my locker,” she said, slinging her light yellow book bag over her shoulder and peering down at her schedule.
"Oh! Right! We have to get to class!" Lloyd grabbed his bag from the ground, stumbling a bit as he lifted it. "Why did I ever think it was a good idea to carry all my textbooks?" He shook his head, looking disappointed in himself. He slung the bag back over his shoulder, wincing a bit as it rubbed against the fresh bruise.
"No, no, it's fine! I just thought it was funny," Kenzie reassured Lloyd. Facing Veda she said, "Okay. Well, I'm kinda the designated helper around here—seeing as my uncle's the principal and all—so if you need help finding anything you can just ask, okay?"
Veda looked over at Kenzie and nodded, smiling brightly again. “Thanks, mate,” she responded, already seeming friendly. She walked down the hall, blowing her pink strands of hair from her face. She eventually found her locker and checked her schedule, keeping the books she needed inside her bag and putting the others into the locker.
Lloyd made his way towards his next class quickly, arriving just in time and hurrying to the back, making sure he didn't look like he had just been beat up. He put his bag on the floor beside him and tapped his foot anxiously as he waited for the lesson to start.
Briar, being an awkward person.. made her way to her math class, taking a seat in the front row.
(@I.C. Fynnheart are we in the same class? Or no?)
(Okay ;u; sorry I'm incredibly awkward but ANYWAYS TEACHER'S HERE NOW I GUESS)
Kenzie rushed off to her next class for the day, English. She actually enjoyed this class, more than the others, at least.
