"Stop it! That's enough!" Eve yelled as she stood up from the floor. "Just back off!" she stood to her full height which was almost as tall as the shortest jock in the group.
"Stop it! That's enough!" Eve yelled as she stood up from the floor. "Just back off!" she stood to her full height which was almost as tall as the shortest jock in the group.
The jocks hesitated, clearly trying to decide whether they should just leave or bruise up Lloyd and Eve on their way out. Lloyd fell silent, not entirely sure what to do. Lloyd could easily be hurt badly, and the jocks wouldn't get much punishment. Their high position was a sort of protection for them.
"You better watch it Mynt. Next time you and Windsor here won't get away so easily." the biggest jock growled at them before motioning for his friends to follow him as he walked away.
"I'm sorry Lloyd, I didn't mean for them to come after you. I just know some of them and figured I might be able to scare some of them into leaving you alone." Eve looked down at her feet, shuffling them in embarrassment.
"It's not your fault, we just need to keep an eye out for them from now on. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of them…"
"Okay, I'm sorry if I made it worse." she replied, finally looking up from the floor.
"It's fine… w-we should get to class now." Lloyd adjusted his bag strap again before starting to walk down the hallway, checking to make sure Eve was still with him.
Eve walked beside Lloyd just as she promised she would. They walked down the hallway and took a right turn into their next class.
Lloyd sat in the back of the class as usual, drumming his fingers on the desk anxiously after he had put his bag on the floor.
After going to the vending machine, Rai hurried to her class. She was not looking forward to choir, but nothing too tiresome ever happened in that class. Lunch was next, just forty five more minutes.
Veda stood at her locker, changing her books out. She was seemingly unconcerned about the consequences being late. After switching her books, she strolled to her next class, taking her time to look around.
The bell rang and the teacher began talking about calculus. Lloyd could do math well enough, but he didn't enjoy it much. He sighed and began taking notes again, having almost filled up his notebook.
Rai mindlessly sang the notes she had memorized for the past couple weeks. She kept watching the clock, hoping it was tick faster. Ten more minutes, she thought.
Somehow, the day was only about half over. It just seemed to drag on and on ever so slowly. Lloyd started to pack his stuff up so he'd be ready to leave when class was over.
Eve sat in the back of the class with Lloyd, but she wasn't taking note as he was. Instead she spent the entire period on her phone, trying to get what had happened in the hallway earlier out of her mind.
Lloyd didn't think as much about the jocks as Eve did. Them picking on him was just a way of life, and he didn't really do much to stop it. They didn't usually do physical damage like they did earlier, and they weren't smart enough to do psychological damage, so he wasn't too worried. Although, it did make him anxious now that they were actually trying to hurt him.
Eve knew she was over thinking what had happened with the jocks, she was just hurt that the ones she knew well had been so willing to physically hurt her. They used to be such great friends and still hung out sometimes outside of school, she thought they were friends, I guess I was wrong she thought to herself. All this thinking about what happened made her stomach hurt and her head whirl. "Can I go to the nurse? I don't feel well." Eve asked the teacher, raising her hand.
The teacher allowed Eve to leave, and Lloyd watched her exit the room, hoping she was okay but continuing his notes anyways. He wished the school day would just end sooner.
Eve made her way out of the classroom and down the hall to the nurse's office, knocking on the door before entering. "Hey Mom." She said as she entered the small office and waved to her mother who worked as the school nurse. "I don't feel well. Could I just go home?" she asked.
"What happened sweetie? Is everything alright?" her mother asked, worried.
"Yeah Mom, everything's fine. Can I go?" she asked again.
"Um, yeah, I guess. But you'll talk to me when I get home, alrighty?"
"Of course. See you at home." Eve finished, walking out of the office and towards the front doors to the building. She made her way to the parking lot, unlocking her car and turning on the engine. She left, heading home.
(I gtg to bed now, see you some time tomorrow ^^)
Eventually, school ended and Lloyd waited in the halls a bit, looking for Eve. After a while, he decided that she had already left and walked home alone, adjusting his bag every once in a while.
(okay, goodnight)
