Floyd peered over his shoulder. “Paper? You’ve got to be bloody kidding me.”
Floyd peered over his shoulder. “Paper? You’ve got to be bloody kidding me.”
"Is there anything on it?" Arabelle asked curiously.
"Paper," he repeated, disappointed. He pulled it out, handing it to Floyd. "Here ya go."
(Any ideas on what it should say?)
Floyd took it and turned it over, then unfolded it. “Wait, there’s writing on this.”
(maybe something simple like a bear appears or something)
"That's different," Daso said, squinting down at the paper. "What's it say?"
(Alright.)
“A bear appears? The hell does that mean?” Floyd said, arching a brow in confusion.
Daso snorted, crossing his arms as he gave an incredulous laugh. "A bear appears. Who wrote that? What does that even mean? This is so surreal right now." He paused, uncertain, his eyes downcast. He muttered mostly to himself, "Am I high?"
Flyn crumbled the paper up and tossed it to the ground. “You and me both, buddy.”
"Uh, guys?" Arabelle muttered. She was peering deeper into the forest, listening to the bickering of the others behind her. When no one answered her, she repeated herself more desperately, "GUYS?!?"
“Hm?” Floyd looked over his shoulder at her.
"Ya know that bear the note was talking about? Well…" she trailed off and pointed to something in the distance.
"Holy…" Daso took a few stumbling steps back. A polar bear. Not just a bear, but a damn polar bear was approaching them…fast. "What…how…wha…?"
What in the world have you gotten yourself into this time, Arabelle? she thought as she backed up slowly.
Floyd’s eyes widened and he stood stiff, unsure of what to do. “We are so bloody dead,” he muttered.
Daso nodded. "Yeah…we kind of are." He wanted to scream but knew that wasn't going to be any help. What could they do? He cast about desperately for a weapon, but there was nothing… they were totally screwed.
"Darn it, guys. Don't any of you have a gun or something?" Arabelle asked exasperatedly.
“We don’t have anything!” Floyd took a few steps back, glancing from the others back to the approaching polar bear.
Still spinning the knife she was holding, Arabelle walked in front of them and fixed her eye on the bear. As it made its way towards them, she looked for the best spot to hit it.
Ready… Aim… Fire! she thought, throwing her knife at the bear. The knife stuck in its right eye.
"Got it," she stated bluntly.
Daso stared, stunned at the girl's nonchalance. His mouth fell open. "Damn, girl. You have an arm." The bear reeled back and retreated, too hurt and stunned to attack any further.
“Where did you get that knife from?!” Floyd exclaimed, jogging over to go look at the bear.
"When thE FUCK DID A BEAR GET HERE?!" Matt jumped back. It must've been one of the worst hangovers of his life if he managed to space out and forget the last 10 minutes of talking and action. He needed to sober up quick or at least die trying.
"AND HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!" Matthias just sat down on the ground and cradled his face in his hands in defeat. This has to be some weird dream.
"You're even worse off than me, bruh," Daso muttered to Matt, his eyebrows raised. "And that's saying a lot."
"Uhhh…." Matthias whined, looking up at Daso. "I need more alcohol. Please. Anything. I'll even settle for wine or a budlight."
Floyd laughed. “I don’t think we are going to find any liquor around here.” He gestured to the forest around them.
