Daso shot back, "Still more believable than a polar bear in a forest."

“I second that,” Floyd commented, hopping off the rock and continuing through the brush.

Arabelle walked behind the others a bit. As she passed a tree, something stuck to its trunk caught her eye. She took a few more steps, then paused and backed up a little. When she noticed what it was, she groaned and pulled it off the tree.

"Hey, guys!" she shouted, catching everyone's attention. She held the note up. "Look what I just found."

"Not another note," Daso groaned, already checking over his shoulders for bears. "What does it say?"

Floyd jogged over, an excited expression on his face. Sure, it could be dangerous,, but it did give a thrill.

Arabelle read the note out loud, her voice ringing through the trees, " 'A lightning storm starts.' "

As soon as she finished, a loud crack resounded around the group.

"Oh, it's our lucky day," Daso mumbled, a smirk twitching over his mouth. "A damn lightning storm." Rain began to pour down in sheets, drenching the group and causing the ground beneath them to turn muddy.

Floyd flinched from the noise, then laughed at the fact that it startled him.

Lyssie flinched and slipped a little farther away.

"What thE FUCK?!!" Matt screeched after being doused with gallons of rain. He raced to hide under the branches and leaves of the nearest tree.

Floyd stayed in the rain, enjoying it. Matt’s reaction only made him laugh harder, and his sides began to ache. “Come on, Matty, it feels good!”

"Not WHEN I COULD GET SHOCKED AND DIE! I NEED LIQUOR FOR THIS DAMMIT!" Matt huddled next to the trunk of the tree like a cat that didn't want to be bathed.

“Do you know how rare that is? Besides, lightning tends to go for taller things,” Floyd quipped, chuckling.

"IS THAT A SHORT JOKE FLOYD I WILL FIGHT YOU" Matt huffed, unmoving from beneath the tree but jumping up and down instead.

“It is!” Floyd said in a delighted tone. “But to do that, you’d have to come out into the rain.” He motioned with his hands to the area around him.

"YOU ASS" Matt jogged out into the meadow but stayed close to any taller object and/or person. "You're lucky I don't beat your butt right here and now" Matt grumbled, pulling closer for warmth and slight shelter from the god damned rain.

Ro laughed at Floyd and Matt's antics. She looked up and smiled at the rain. "At last, a silver lining."

“Yeah, you bloody wish!” Floyd called, laughing.

"OH YEAH?!" Matt barreled towards Floyd and attempted to tackle him, but slipped and fell at Floyd's feet instead. "I'll fight you" Matt's voice was muffled by the muddy ground.

Floyd took a step back, almost doubling over with laughter. “Seems like you can’t. Such a shame.”

"aaaaaAAAAHHHH" Matt screamed into the mud before rolling around and tackling Floyd's legs to make him join Matt on the ground and in the mud.

Daso couldn't help but laugh. He tipped his face to the sky and let the rain pour down his cheeks. "This is better than a bear."

Floyd fell flat on his ass and grunted, but still laughed. “Are my legs the only thing you could reach?” He got to his feet and flicked mud from his pants. He nodded at Daso. “See? He gets it.”
