Paige sat in a corner booth. A glass of water sat in front of her, untouched. She had her head down, and her phone was laying on the seat next to her.
Paige sat in a corner booth. A glass of water sat in front of her, untouched. She had her head down, and her phone was laying on the seat next to her.
"You okay, Paige?" Lloyd sat down next to her in the booth,
Darren slid into the booth, "Hey what's up" He rubbed a hand over Paige's back.
Lillian sat across from her. She took Paige's hands into her own, "Are you sure your ready?"
Paige sat up quickly when she felt Darren's hand on her back. She flinched away, then relaxed when she saw Darren and Lloyd slid in the booth on one side of her and Lillian in the other. Lillian took her hands and asked a question. Everything was blurred and fuzzy.
"What?" she asked. At once, everything became clear.
"What do you need to tell us Paige?" Lillian smiled at her reassuringly.
(Paige went completely silent and the group assumed she died…)
(Lmao)
(Lillian staring up at the sky on her knees in the pouring rain: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(Lloyd leaves, summons Phos, and rides majestically off into the sunset)
(Darren running to comfort her "It's gonna be okay but while your upset you should know that I told your mom I'd convince you to quit the one thing in your life you love… Yay!)
("YOU DID WHAT?!" Lillian screeching at him.)
("whoops, oh no." The two watch Lillian's dreams fly away into the sunset following Lloyd.
(Lillian returns to crying because what else she can do.)
(No but seriously where did @camiestrange go?)
(She's here somewhere.)
(I'm sad now)
(Do we move on and come back later???)
(Let's wait.)
(ookay…. Crickets)
Paige breathed deeply. She turned on her phone and opened the messaging app. She opened up Michelle's history. She took another deep breath and read aloud in a shaky voice.
"Where are u? U missed another practice!
If u miss the next one, coach will bench u
If u r hanging with the theater kids tell me
Stop hanging with those nerds
They r lame
U should just die if ur hanging out w/ them
No one would even care"
She takes another breath as the group is silent. She closes out of that conversation and clicks on Carissa.
"Hey, u need to come to practice today
Listen, I'm not mad
ok, i'm kind of mad
Just ditch the theater nerds and we can b friends again ok?
Trust me, life would b better off without u cause ur so annoying
Ur so irritating just die"
Her heart hammers in her chest as she selects Jana's contact.
"Listen, those theater kids r bad news
Come on, listen to me
Text me back
R u dead
R U DEAD OR SOMETHING
DID U DIE?
Please don't reply to that last text
Go and make the world a better place by leaving it
No one like u
Ur so weird, come on
Come to practice
NO WHATEVER FINE
D
I
E"
Paige closed out of the app, turned off the phone and set it in front of her. Silent tears coated her cheeks. "Help me," she whispered.
(That's what took her so long….)
(yeah…)
Darren's rage was already built up from the previous events of his day and now it was much worse, "I'm gonna find them on Monday and-" Darren cut himself off realizing it wasn't gonna help anyways.
Lillian read the messages with horror, "Why the he'll would they do that?!"
