"Whatever she can be in the house as long as she doesn't make a mess and no one sees her… I can't explain this to my father…"
"Whatever she can be in the house as long as she doesn't make a mess and no one sees her… I can't explain this to my father…"
"Alright. She'll be good, won't you Val?" Lloyd clicked his tongue again, and Valkyrie followed him into the house.
Sydney growled the moment Val trotted into the house.
"Shh, Sydney. She's friendly." Valkyrie didn't really seem to pay Sydney much mind, staying at Lloyd's side. She really was a gorgeous creature.
The dog let out another bark before being ushered into another room by Darren, "Sorry about her… she's being stupid again."
"No, that's to be expected. She's just protecting you. Val's a large, unfamiliar creature entering her territory without warning. And though she's friendly, Sydney doesn't know that. She wants t keep you safe." Lloyd smiled, patting Valkyries's neck.
Lillian made a small movement. She missed Darren's body heat, "She's beautiful Lloyd."
Darren sighed, Lloyd didn't get that he was joking but that was okay, "Makes sense, thanks, Lloyd."
(Yeah, Lloyd doesn't quite understand jokes lol)
"Isn't she? Pegasi are quite magnificent, and a tad more amiable than unicorns. More trusting."
Darren sat back by Lillian, "So, how long have you had her? Do all angels get one?"
"Most in battle do, yes. They're good war horses. Agile, quick, strong, and able to take a hit or two. Their skin's even thicker than ordinary horses, although that's understandable. I've had her for…" Lloyd thought a moment. "It's been a while, several years at least. They live longer than ordinary horses too, closer to the age of a long living human."
Lillian wrapped her arms around Darren and pressed herself into him, "But why would you make such a beautiful creature go into battle?"
Darren nodded, before standing up again, "I'll be back." He said before disappearing up the stairs.
"Well, you humans have war horses do you not? Pegasi are great at their jobs. I've actually never seen one die at work. Even if they get hit, they heal quickly and can even keep going when injured."
MEANWHILE, ON THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN…
Luena sat outside on the porch, facing the woods behind her house. She kept examining her fingers, checking for any discolourations. There weren't any, or at least, none showed with the glamour.
Luena looked into the woods. There was a small, blue light hovering in the brush. She stood up, walking across her yard, and jumping the fence.
(No Luena don't go it's gonna get you!)
(Run Luena!)
Lillian made a slight pouty face, but it quickly disappeared. She nodded, "Knowing that makes me feel better."
(will it tho?)
The light appeared to be a small, blue flame that was no bigger than the palm of her hand. As soon as she got within a foot of it, it snuffed out. Luena looked around, and spotted the same light a fair distance in front of her. The young witch groaned. A will-o'-the-wisp. She was too tired to go on an adventure.
She walked away, but the little blue light stood in front of her. Luena groaned again. The little wisps were persistent little shits. She knew from experience that they would sit in front of her eyes until she followed them.
"At least let me grab my dagger this time." She told it. It dimmed out of existence.
"I figured as much. They're incredibly resilient, and can carry surprisingly heavy loads. I wonder whether she'd like Phos? I'll go call him." Lloyd told Val to stay and left again, returning in a couple minutes with Phos.
(wait there are two horses in a house?? at least 2 things have broken.)
Darren went into the upstairs bathroom, he picked up the bottle ibuprofen from the sink and turned it around inspecting it, it reminded him of everything he had done. He threw it and was satisfied when it hit the wall and spilled onto the ground. He turned to the sink and splashed water on his face to keep from crying.
(wait there are two horses in a house?? at least 2 things have broken.)
(There is only one in the house…)
(Yeah and they probably ate something from the fruit bowl)
(Nah Lloyd just brought in Phos lmao)
(lol. The real reason Darren is upset. It was his mom's fruit bowl…)
