John pauses then he looks up and laughs at his sword stuck in the ground across the yard before texting her back "That's good, at least better then earlier. I hope you have a good night though..If you need me just call…I am feeling pretty tired now love"
"Me too. I promise I'll call. If you want to you can come over anytime. It's not contagious after all. :)" Jackie laughed lightly and pulled her blanket up around herself.
John smiles as he wiped his brow before texting her back with a light chuckle "I want you to get your rest, and it would be odd if I got pregnant….Kind of funny when I think about it."
"Yeah… How would that work?" Jackie thought for a moment. It was a confusing thought.
John makes a face as he tries to think about how it would work then he replies "Not sure….maybe it could be like growing an extra arm or something. Since the regular way is implausible"
Jackie smiled a little at how logical he sounded. "Haha yeah. Alright well I guess I'll see you later. Feel free to stop by at any time. :D"
John smiles then he sends one final text before putting his phone away "Okay, see you. Love you Jackie"
"Love you too."
Jackie grabbed her computer and worked on some things she had to get done then decided to browse baby names. Just for fun.
John strips of his shirt throwing it to the floor as he plopped down on his bed and was snoring softly within a few short minutes. Already starting to dream about a child and Jackie
"Hmmm. Dustin, Liliana, Mila, Rose, Ezra…" Jackie muttered aloud. So many possibilities. Personally, she liked elegant and more original names. She wondered what John would like.
John rolls over while snoring softly, nearly falling off the bed as he did so then he stretches out hanging one foot off of his bed
(So what should we do? A summary of each month from each of their perspectives or what? This could take a while. Ten months is a long time.)
(Hmmm, a summary of each month from both? I like it. Let's try that)
(alrighty you wanna start for the first month?)
(Yesh indeed I doooooooooo)
The first month into Jackies pregnancy John made sure to keep an eye on her as much as he could. He was genuinely worried, but as the days passed and it got more visible that she was with child. He found it quite exciting that a child was to be born as his. John took every opportunity to rush over and help, even staying up late into the night as Jackie got sick. John hoped and prayed that this would work out in the long run. He didn't to take any chances on screwing anything up and forfeiting a child's chance at a great family life
Jackie loved spending time with John. The times they spent together were precious. Drawn closer to him through the baby she felt safer and more confident. She wasn't as sick as she had been initially which was relieving. But she had a lot of planning to do. She told John as much as she could how thankful she was that he was there. They brainstormed ideas for names and where the baby would sleep. Jackie couldn't remember anyone in her life who she had been this close too. She could not remember anyone this honest.
As time seemed to go faster John was surprised at how well Jackie was taking the pregnancy. John was swamped with trying to juggle so much planning and his large company. Despite that John had made the time for her and loved spending those long precious hours planning what it was going to be like. From baby names, to weather they thought it was best to have a baby girl or child. John promised to be the best father he could be…unlike how his father was. He wanted to be honest with her feeling deep down that this was what he had been looking for
The second month was a little busier. Jackie was able to move around quite a bit more and helped repaint one of the guest bedrooms while John was at work. She got a lot done and was pretty satisfied with what she had done. She could tell John was a little stressed out and did her best to some of the work off his back. Her mother died when she was young so she never knew what a good mother was like. She hoped she was doing everything right. Sometimes she was unsure, sometimes she knew exactly what she was doing. Jackie called her father who was excited for them, but Jackie could tell he was a little upset she hadn't told him sooner.
John felt bad the second month for being so busy so he decided to take a small bit of time off to help Jackie. He was impressed to find that she didn't need it so instead he got her a gift. John frequently asked if he could "listen" to the baby in a almost childlike way. He was not sure what he was doing, but he he tried his best. Sometimes trying too hard and falling asleep at his work desk. John was quite skeptical of Jackies father though, since his relationship with his own was rocky
Jackie's 3rd month was filled with joy and laughter. But it also had its fair share of stress. Jackie loved how John wanted to "listen" to the baby. She loved his gifts and the time he spent with her. Bit by bit, Jackie was getting her stuff packed up to hopefully sell her apartment by the end of the 5th month. She talked to a couple of her friends but was still not sure of whether or not she should let her dad meet John.
John would frown as he glanced at the calendar seeing as she was three months in. He was worried about her running into complications this far along. John could sense that Jackie was feeling some stress so he made an extra effort to make things smoother. Starting with Jackies belongings and getting them packed up for her. John felt like he was now getting the hang of how things were going to work out, but he felt bad for not trying to give her dad a chance. So John tried to make up for it and see if they could meet and resolve that rift
It was the start of the 4th month when John suggested that he meet her father. She agreed nervously and they met a week later. Jackie could sense the tension but be unsure what was actually happening. She left them alone for a little bit while she marked down the calendar. Her heart throbbed as her abdomen swelled gradually and as the month progressed.
Johns meeting with Jackies father was tense then slowly progressed into something awkward. John grinned feeling lucky to have met him with no issues at the very least. As days passed after meeting her father John suggested getting tests done to make she there were no complications with the baby and to relieve some of his nervousness. John at night would roll over and touch Jackies stomach marveling at how drastically his future had changed and how he knew that he would love it. John hoped that maybe the child will turn out to be a little girl
Month #5. Jackie's stomach was half what size it would grow to be. They got a sonogram and saw that it was a girl. A healthy, baby girl. Jackie and John's relationship grew and they knew everything was going to change from that point on. Jackie sold her apartment and moved in with John. They set a date for the baby shower and gender reveal. And one of the most important things they got much closer to deciding the name for her.
On month five John was ecstatic to find that the baby was a girl. John then started to help Jackie put her things up around his house feeling proud to soon be a father. He felt happy to of had a lull in his work demand to spend more time with Jackie, but he felt like he was missing something. John mentions this to Jackie indicating that maybe they should take a step forward in their relationship in the next coming months. He then devotes a large portion of his time doing things around the house knowing that it might be hard or painful for Jackie for moving around too much
