"Awesome. You said you wanted to tell me something before?"
"Awesome. You said you wanted to tell me something before?"
"Oh, yes I did! I had finally gotten you an interview for a top end journalism job! The interview will be thursday" John smiles this time feeling happy to have helped Jackie
"Oh my goodness! Thank you so much! I can't wait." Jackie beamed. "You probably have work to get done, so I'll leave you to it."
"I don't actually and your welcome, I was glad to do it. I can stay if you want me too….unless you want to be alone to sort your thoughts" John paused not sure how to approach the situation
"I-I um, well you can stay. It'll probably just be me laying here, eating food and throwing up. But if you want to…" Jackie said sheepishly.
John runs a hand through his hair again and walks over taking a seat next to Jackie "I don't mind, anytime spent with you weather you are sick or not is okay with me. Plus being the worrier I am, I am going to stay for at least a little while to help"
"Okay." Jackie managed a smile.
John nods then leans back into the couch sinking into deep thought as he let Jackie try to eat the food he had brought her. As he did so he started to hum softly
After Jackie finished her food she closed her eyes. Listening to the sound of John's humming. Eventually she fell asleep.
John stops humming after as long few minutes and he looks over at Jackie smiling at how peaceful she looked when she was sleeping. He then reaches out and brushes a hair from her face wondering how the hell he might raise a child if she was pregnant, but he refused to admit that he might be overwhelmed and quite frankly scared of the thought as well as excited
Jackie dreamt of her and John and a small child running around at their feet. She slept soundly but couldn't deny how nervous she was. She woke up a little while later and stood shakily. "Should we get a test?" She asked as she stretched.
John blinks realizing that he was halfway asleep then he reaches out to help Jackie as he processed her question "A test?….Oh! I…Yes I think we should get in to have a test done. I don't think it would be wise to wait Jackie"
"They have them at the dollar store I think…" She said, putting her shoes and coat on. She turned for a moment and barfed in the bucket that was next to her. She wiped her mouth. "Sorry."
John walks over and holds Jackies hair back from her face a she barfed then he rubs her back soothingly "I was thinking about going to a clinic, but if you want to get a small test one from the dollar store you can"
"Doesn't really matter to me. What ever's easier." Jackie said, trying to be as flexible with this as possible.
John grits his teeth then he gesture back at the couch "You lay down and try to get a little bit of rest, I will go to the store and get one. I don't want you to strain yourself love" John smiles then pats Jackies back gently on his way out the door
"Love you." Jackie smiled.
John nods and looks back at Jackie before he shuts the door "I love you too" John smiles then shut the door heading out to his car quickly and driving away to the store muttering softly to himself
Jackie waited patiently, her head throbbing lightly.
When John got to the store he stares at the seemingly endless amount of tests that Jackie could take to determine if she was pregnant. He scratches his head feeling perplexed not sure which one would be the better to use. John then tentatively picks one out and also grabs a small bottle of Ibuprofen , pays for the items, then he drives back to Jackies house nervously tapping the steering wheel
Jackie cleaned her face and hands and emptied her bucket before returning to the couch.
John then parks and gets out heading into Jackies home he shuts the door gently before calling out "Jackie? You here?"
"Yes. Come on in."
John smiles as he walked in upon seeing Jackie then he holds out his hand giving Jackie the plastic bag with the test and small bottle of pills "I didn't know which one would work better….there was so many of them!"
"Thanks again. This one should work fine." Jackie took it and went into the bathroom. "I'll be right back."
