John shuffles his feet nervously as he stood in the living room to wait as Jackie left the room to take the test
Jackie waited, staring at the test. Positive. (That means she is right? I always get them mixed up). She took a deep breath and went back out to John. Holding the test out for him to see.
( Yeah, more or less)
John takes in a quick breath before letting it out slowly as he looked at the test answer "Positive….How do you feel about that jackie…?"
"Excited, unsure, nervous. A lot of things to be honest. How about you?" Jackie asked, breathing slowly to keep herself calm.
John makes a face then whispers softly "I am…nervous and so unsure of myself…Like what if you want to keep the kid…Would I even make a good parent? What if I screw this up?!" John sighs then covers his face
"Of course I'll keep the kid. I'm sure you'll be a great dad John." Jackie rubbed his back with her hand. "We'll be alright."
John smiles at what Jackie said then he looks at Jackie face "Are you sure you want to do that? I don't want this to force you to do anything in anyway"
"I would never be able to live with myself if I took an unborn child's life, especially my own." Jackie said quite frankly.
John smiles slightly then pulls Jackie into a gentle hug resting his chin on her shoulder "Since I now know you want to keep the child…What about living arrangements? Do you still want to live separately now that you know you are to be expecting?"
Jackie tried her best to think. "I think it would be better if we lived together. I could sell this little apartment and we could surely find room at your place. I mean if that's alright with you love."
"We have months to prepare."
John nods then he puts on a serious expression "I have more then enough room, but for now just stay here before we do anything concrete. Unless you want to start moving within the week, then I can arrange movers"
"No. I'll stay here. It's a bit too much at once. If we spread it out I think it'll work better." Jackie said, her thoughts racing.
John nods rapidly then he reaches up and touches Jackies face tenderly "Alright…do you want me to go home now to give you time to think all of this over?"
Jackie nodded, deep in thought.
John pulls away placing a kiss on jackies forehead as he did so "Text me later when you want to okay love" John then proceeds to turn away to leave
"I will. Bye John." Jackie waved.
John nods and waves good bye to Jackie over his shoulder as he closed the door and went home. His thought jumbled and his nerves on high alert. When he gets inside his house he goes up to his study and starts to draw and write hoping to calm himself down
Jackie stood once more and grabbed her calender off her wall. She took it back with her and started marking in some dates when she would do things. Things like, "Moving prep" and, "Baby shower." or, "Paint baby's room." It took her a while to figure everything out but after a while, she got enough down that she felt confident. At least she knew she couldn't pass the sickness to John.
John scratches his head then he stands up and looks down at his desk with papers sprawled across it. Each with a different person sketched on it. John then gets his phone out dialing his most trusted friends number "Corius? Corius…Can you tell me a story?" John smiles slightly as he hears his best friends voice begin the same story he always had when John really needed it. John was glad his friend didn't judge him when he asked
Jackie fell asleep again and rested for most of the day.
With the story done John thanks him and they talk for a while when the call was over and done with John goes to his back yard picking out a weapon from the weapons rack. He then starts to practice forgetting the world around him yet he felt a nagging feeling at the back of his neck hoping Jackie will text him back as promised
Jackie woke up and sent a short and sweet text to John. Rolling on to her stomach on the couch she smiled to herself.
"Hey there John."
John jerks accidentally throwing his sword across the yard when he felt his phone buzz, John then texts her back quickly "Hello Jackie, hope you're doing fine love"
"Much better actually. Just a small headache."
