The weeks passed swiftly with a couple, short and sweet visits between the two of them. John helped Jackie care for her dog and they spent time together as much as possible. 3.5 weeks after that first night Jackie began throwing up. What in the world was going on?
John was at home taking care of a few business calls and finally got an arranged interview for Jackie on a big journalism job. He hoped to break the news soon knowing Jackie would be super excited at the opportunity. John checked the clock on his wall as he finished up his call hoping Jackie was expecting him on their now fourth date
Jackie and John's relationship was growing and she had promised that day she would go out to lunch with him. She pulled out her phone and gave him a quick text,
"Not feeling too great. 🤢 Will have to miss today's lunch. 😢"
John frowned as his phone buzzed while reading Jackies text his frown deepened and he texted back rather quickly "Not feeling great? Should I come over and check on you?" John grumbles and rubs his face wondering if Jackie will be okay
"No it's alright. I wouldn't want you to get sick too."
She responded promptly. Jackie flopped down on the couch her head throbbing. She felt so bad for missing their date. She really wanted to see him.
"Are you sure? I don't mind getting sick as long as it was for the better of helping you" John paces as he texted back feeling like he might go over anyway despite jackies protest. He really cared and was worried
Jackie thought for a moment.
"If you're sure you'll be alright, then it would be awesome if you could bring some food with you too."
John smiled then laughs aloud reading her text, then he sends a quick text as he left the house driving rather quickly wanting to get to her quicker "Anything in particular you want?"
"Nope!"
Jackie smiled to herself and laid down, trying to calm down a little bit.
John raises an eyebrow at Jackies text then he picks up a small order from his favorite food place and quickly drives over to Jackies. Once there he parks and jumps out of his car quickly striding up to the door and knocking on it
"IT'S OPEN!" Jackie cried out, then coughed a little from the strain on her voice.
John opens the door steps in and then shuts it behind himself. John then looks at Jackie , his gaze softened and he walks up to her "What's wrong baby?"
"I've been feeling a bit nauseous and barfed a little bit. Not sure if I have a fever or something. It makes me happy to see your face though, love"

John gets down on his knees and inspects Jackies face "It makes me happy to see you too, but it also saddens me that you are sick love…"
Jackie sighed. Then something occurred to her. Out of pure nervousness, she lowered her voice. "John. What if-What I'm pregnant?"
John blinks very surprised at the notion of Jackie possibly pregnant and with his child nonetheless then John draws a very serious expression "If you are pregnant then I will most certainly help raise that child, if that is the case here Jackie"
Jackie's breathing and heart rate quickened. She didn't know how to take care of a child! She looked at John unsure of what to do. A desperate look was in her nervous eyes. "John. If it's true. What are we gonna do?"
John reaches out and cups Jackies face in his hand and he murmurs softly "Shhh…Don't panic love, if you are then we will take it as it comes. I will follow whatever decision you make if it turns out to be true and you are with child…" John pauses now feeling extremely cautious, not sure how to convey that he was a little bit excited at the idea of a child, but not sure if now was the right time to say something like that
"It'll be alright. I'll be alright. I'll let you know what happens okay? I love you so much." She replied, calming down a bit. Then with a laugh she said, "Thanks for the food."
John retracts his hand and holds out the bag of food to Jackie "Your welcome love…And I love you too. If it does turn out that you are pregnant then rest assured that I will help you each step of the way" John smiles slightly and rubs his face his emotions jumbled at the moment
"Thanks." Jackie set the food on the end table and gave him a hug. "We're in this together." She said in his ear.
John hugs Jackie back trying to be gentle as he did so he wouldn't make Jackie feel sick again "I can promise to that, now eat something. Only if you can though…don't try to make yourself sick if you can't"
"Alright. I'll text you john. Sorry we couldn't go on a date today." Jackie said, digging into the lunch.
John stands up and smiles "It's okay, it's not that big of a deal. We can always reschedule" John runs a hand through his hair letting loose a breath he wasn't aware he was holding in
