"Alright, I'll be right back." Finn got up and headed upstairs to see if Teagan was okay. Teagan was still sleeping when he got to Irena's room, and Finn came over to him, laying the back of his hand on Teagan's forehead. Teagan was breathing strangely; small huffs of breath almost as though he were panting. His forehead felt warm, and Finn frowned, unsure what to do. He carefully pulled back the covers so he could check Teagan over more thoroughly, and he found a gash on his brother's side that was hot to the touch. He huffed, narrowing his eyes at his twin and then pulled the covers back over him to go back downstairs. He looked irritated and concerned when he returned.
Beatrice noticed the look and sat up straight.
"What's the matter?" She asked, her voice trembling with fear and concern. But she could tell from his face that nothing happened to Finn himself, this had to be about Teagan. "What's wrong with Teagan?"
"He's an idiot, that's what's wrong with him. He didn't let you treat him properly because he wanted you to deal with me." Finn huffed, crossing his arms. "Now he's got an infection and a fever and we'll have to deal with his whining. At least he isn't sick. I'd get sick too…"
Irena opened her eyes and smiled a dry lipped smile.
"We would all be sick, we slept in the same bed," she croaked "i'm not feeling too hot myself."
Beatrice rolled her eyes and turned back to Finn.
"Well i'm going to go upstairs after letting him sleep a little longer, to treat his wound and patch it up correctly." She told Finn "and then i'm sure we can find some kind of medicine that will help in the medicine cabinet in the master bathroom connected to my room."
"Well, he isn't sick. He just has an infection because he's a stupid idiot. He's done this before." Finn flopped down on the couch, his arms still crossed. "Dumbass is 'soooo protective' of me or whatever that he can't be bothered to let you know he's injured. Well, I can take care of myself better than he can, apparently."
Beatrice gave him a calm smile.
"Calm down Finn," she insisted, "I'm sure he'll be fine."
She stood up and led him in the kitchen.
"I think Irena is sick, like actually sick." She whispered "Do you agree, she looks a bit…well, she looks like shit."
"Yeah, yeah, he'll be fine… he's just really whiny when he doesn't feel good." Finn sighed and followed Beatrice into the kitchen when she led him. He looked over his shoulder at the question as though he expected Irena to hear him speak. "Yeah… Teagan isn't sick, but she probably is."
Beatrice frowned, a line appearing between her chestnut brown eyebrows.
"I mean should we keep them both in the same room?" She asked "I don't know if we should because then she might get Teagan sick."
She checked on Irena through the doorway before leaning her head back in and leaning close to Finn. "I could quarantine her in my room if we have too." She told him.
"Mm… true. We could also move Teagan. I can carry him somewhere. He definitely shouldn't get sick if he's already fighting an infection…" Finn sighed softly. "But Irena should be in her own room. She'll be more comfortable there, and we wouldn't want to contaminate your stuff. Teagan isn't contagious, so he wouldn't get you sick or anything."
Beatrice nodded quickly.
"So Irena in her room, Teagan in mine, and I guess we'll have to sleep in the guest bedroom until they're both better." She said tiredly. "Man, this is not what I was expecting today to be like."
"Yeah, me either… I guess we should get to moving them." Finn sighed. "I'll get Teagan to your room. You try to convince Irena to go back to bed. Sound good?" He asked before heading off back upstairs. He went to Irena's room and picked up Teagan, who was still out cold, and carried him to Beatrice's room. He couldn't help but glance around a bit when he went in.
Beatrice went into the living room, helping Irena up as she moaned and tried to resist, but Beatrice kept a firm grip on her as she slowly led her up the stairs, eventually getting her into her room and into her bed, Beatrice pressed the pack of her hand against Irena's forehead and pulled her comforter over her a little and cracking the window to let in the breeze. She exited and shut the door, waiting for Finn to come out of the guest room.
Once Teagan was settled, Finn left Beatrice's room and jumped a bit to find her standing nearby. "Oh, hey. How's she doing?" He asked, coming closer. "Teagan is still out cold. He might sleep for a while, if we're lucky. He's not awful when he doesn't feel well, but he can get kinda clingy and annoying…"
Beatrice nodded understandingly.
"Irena's asleep too, but I made her take 'nasty ass medicine' before she fell back asleep." She told him, swiping a hand across her eyes. "But she should sleep for a while at least, one of the side effects for the medicine I gave her is it makes you sleepy."
She began walking down the stairs, her hand gripping the wooden banister and finally she settled on the downstairs couch.
Finn nodded, listening closely and then following Beatrice downstairs. "Well, hopefully they'll both chill and get better quickly. I'm not too worried about Teagan in that regard. Werewolves have expedited healing abilities, after all." He yawned as he flopped down on the couch. "At least the werewolf thing isn't all bad, yeah?"
"So how long do you think it'll take him to heal this time?" Beatrice asked and pulled her knees up to her chin.
"Eh, couple days tops." Finn shrugged. "He should be functional by tomorrow. Maybe a low grade fever, but as long as we treat him now, he should be fine. Speaking of, we should probably do that…"
Beatrice nodded and smiled.
"That's good, Irena might take a bit longer than that though," she told him.
"Yeah. Where's your first aid stuff?" Finn asked, getting up. "Teagan will only get worse if we don't do something about his wound."
Beatrice nodded once and stood up.
"In the bathroom medicine cabinet in the upstairs bathroom, the bathroom that's not connected to anyone's bedroom on the far right of the hallway." She told him as she began to lead him to it, she rummaged in the medicine cabinet once in the bathroom and grabbed Antiseptic wipes, ointment and some bandages and even a bandage for wrapping wounds, she handed it to Finn.
"Here," she said "I think he'll be more comfortable if you do it."
"Alright…" Finn followed Beatrice upstairs and got the first aid equipment from her before heading to where Teagan was still sleeping. He carefully pulled off his brother's hoodie and knelt beside him on the bed. The wound looked pretty deep, and was evidently either a bite or claw mark from the other wolf. Finn sighed and carefully started cleaning the wound, which made Teagan flinch in his sleep, but not quite wake up. Finn moved quickly and managed to get Teagan bandaged up without too much trouble.
Beatrice waited inside the doorway, watching and closed the door after Finn left, she followed him down the stairs.
"We have to sleep in the guest bedroom, my dad'll throw a fit if he sees us on the couch." She told him tiredly.
"Well, it's still daytime, so we won't have to worry about that until later." Finn shrugged, looking over his shoulder at Teagan before he headed out of the room. "What do you want to do for now?"
Beatrice rubbed a hand across her face.
"I think we should just stay in today, so we can keep an eye on Irena and Teagan." She told him in a gravelly voice. "Maybe just watch TV, hang out."
"Yeah, that's fine with me. What do you want to watch? We could always do that movie from last night again since I feel asleep." Finn laughed sheepishly.
