"W-Well… I guess so…" Finn replied softly, looking a bit tense and uneasy now. He wasn't really sure why Beatrice decided to bring up his home life, or lack thereof, but it wasn't really a topic he liked to talk about. "I know they're pretty busy with their jobs, and they don't like to be around us too much, so…"
Beatrice crossed her arms and shook her head, it made her angry how Finn and Teagan's parents decided to just ignore their sons, but she said nothing.
The microwave dinged and Beatrice pulled out the bowl, slowly drizzling the butter over the popcorn and used the salt shaker to add a bit of salt.
Finn fidgeted nervously with his hands, his heart racing. *I really haven't seen them in a while… but there's still food in the pantry, right? So they must still be there. They probably just come back to sleep and that's it. They just really don't want to be around us." He felt a bit dizzy and lightheaded and closed his eyes, drawing in a deep breath to try and relax.
Beatrice shrugged.
"Like I said, I'm not one to judge." She said and gave him a quick hug, more for comfort than anything. She held onto him for a few seconds then grabbed the overly large bowl of popcorn and turned to him. "You coming up?"
"Y… yeah, I'll be there in a minute. Just want to… grab something." Finn replied softly, his voice a bit breathless. "I'll be right there."
Once Beatrice had gone up, he slid down the side of the counter onto the floor, drawing his knees up to his chest and hugging them tightly. His breathing was erratic and harsh, and it made his throat feel cold and tight. Tears stung his eyes and he started to tremble where he sat. He just hoped this would be over quickly so he could head up before anyone got concerned enough to check up on him.
Beatrice paused on the stairs.
She heard no sound so she went back down, sitting in the bowl of popcorn and wrapping her arms around Finn.
"I'm sorry." She said and kept repeating it, rubbing his back.
"No, no, no…" Finn whispered weakly. He didn't want Beatrice to have to see him like this again. He transformed into a wolf and bolted, now panting erratically in place of his hyperventilating, and tried to find a way to escape. He scratched at the back door, whining and trying to open it so he could get out.
Beatrice frowned.
"Just please come back." She said as she opened the back door. "I'm trusting you to come back, I won't tell Irena or Teagan because they'll smother you, but you have to come back.
Finn looked over his shoulder weakly and nodded before he ran out into the yard and off somewhere out of sight. After about five minutes or so, he came back into the house having transformed back. He looked tired, but had otherwise pulled himself together. He quickly grabbed some chips and other snacks and hurried upstairs. "Sorry! I dropped a bunch of stuff and had to pick it up…" He lied, putting the snacks on the bed.
Beatrice gave him a sympathetic looks and smiled lightly while Irena pressed play as she handed out various drinks and snacks, Beatrice placed the bowl on her lap and sighed as Irena pressed play on the movie.
Finn smiled weakly and climbed onto the bed, huddling up under the covers. He wasn't really much in the mood to watch the movie at the moment, but he tried to stay awake at least and had some popcorn and snacks. Teagan seemed none the wiser, thankfully.
Beatrice tried her best not to touch Finn when she moved, not because she didn't want to, but because she felt he needed his space right now.
She looked at him every once in a while and gave him a small, reassuring smile.
Finn yawned and leaned against the wall as he watched the movie, struggling to stay awake. Eventually he just dozed off with his head against the wall, which couldn't be comfortable, but he didn't seem too bothered.
(oh, my bad ;0 )
Irena jumped at all the parts in which the man in the mask came down and buried her face in Teagan's shoulder.
Once, she lifted her face, just to rest her head on his shoulder.
(Np ^^)
Teagan jumped when Irena suddenly grabbed him versus the movie, and he looked down at her with a bewildered expression for a moment, but he didn't stop her. Finn was still asleep, looking drained and pale.
Irena fell asleep quietly, resting on Teagan's shoulder.
"Are you okay Teagan?" Beatrice asked quietly, looking over at him.
Teagan looked over at Beatrice curiously. "Hmm? Yeah, I'm fine. Why do you ask?" He replied, keeping quiet as well. He noticed Finn sleeping against the wall.
Beatrice shrugged.
"Just asking," she said "Do you want to keep watching or go to sleep, or keep watching?"
"Doesn't matter to me. I don't think Irena or Finn would care too much to miss it if you want to finish it." He shrugged.
Beatrice nodded and smiled and turned back to face the TV, becoming once again enveloped in the movie.
Teagan did manage to stay awake until the end of the movie, but he was getting drowsy. They'd moved Finn by now so he was properly laying down and would be more comfortable.
Beatrice woke up as sun streamed through the window, she moved her head to the side she saw Finn laying next to her and sat up quickly. She looked around and her heart slowed.
She laid back down and pulled her blanket over her face.
