Irena screamed a fake war cry, then began attacking him even harder.
"Who cares about fair?" She asked, laughing.
Irena screamed a fake war cry, then began attacking him even harder.
"Who cares about fair?" She asked, laughing.
Teagan crossed his arms in an 'x' in front of his face, and eventually they let up on him, laughing. "What do you guys want to do now?" Finn asked.
Irena shrugged.
"Sleepover? Again?" She suggested "Those are always fun."
"I mean, yeah, but like… what sleepover stuff should we do?" He asked. "Movie, popcorn, whatever else people do? I dunno."
Beatrice shouted "A MOVIE!" And Irena flinched.
"Okay, okay, a movie I guess." Irena said.
Finn and Teagan jumped as well, clearly not expecting Beatrice to yell. "Alright, uh… since you're so excited about it, what movie do you want to watch?" Finn asked her.
Beatrice smiled slyly and took turns to look at all three of them.
"I have an idea, that I think none of you will like." She said and Irena shot her a disapproving look.
Finn and Teagan looked at each other, both equally confused, and then back at Beatrice. "Uh… what is it?" Finn asked apprehensively.
"It's a movie called The Black Phone. It's a psychological thriller so basically a scary movie." She told them all, "It came out a little while ago and I wanted to see it, but I haven't had the chance to watch it."
"Oh, okay. I heard about that one, I think. Some kid got kidnapped, right?" Finn asked. "I'm fine to watch that. I don't really care." He shrugged and Teagan nodded in agreement.
Beatrice clapped and hooted in celebration and Irena turned on the flatscreen mounted to her wall, then switched to the Roku and got on Hulu, typing in the movie's name and starting it as Beatrice snuggled down under a blanket.
"Get up here, you two." Irena said to Teagan and Finn, waving them over since there was enough room for all of them on her bed, there was a space between Irena and Beatrice and a space between Beatrice and the corner and wall.
"Alrighty." The twins crawled into the bed to watch the movie. Finn yawned and the two of them got comfortable, Teagan between Irena and Beatrice and Finn between Beatrice and the wall. "Should we make popcorn?" Finn suggested before they started the movie.
Irena paused it and looked to Beatrice, who nodded and got up.
"I'll be right back." She said and disappeared downstairs to make the popcorn.
"Finn, can you go downstairs and get us drinks?" Irena asked him, looking at Teagan.
"And Teagan, get in the closet and bring out some more blankets so people don't feel uncomfortable and have to share." She said and stood up.
"And I'll get the movie theater lights off."
"Aye aye, captain!" Finn replied, holding one hand up to his forehead in a salute before hopping out of bed and following Beatrice downstairs. He opened the fridge and started looking through to find drinks for everyone, occasionally glancing over at Beatrice waiting for the popcorn to finish.
"Okay." Teagan fetched some blankets from the closet as requested and threw them on the bed. "Did you send Finn and Beatrice together on purpose?" He asked, raising an eyebrow questioningly.
"Honestly" she said, giving him a fear stricken face. "I didn't, how awkward do you think it is down there?"
Beatrice took the popcorn out of the microwave when she was done and spun around.
She dropped the bag in surprise. "Oh hi Finn." She said, bending down to pick it up and getting a large bowl from one of the cabinets and pouring the popcorn into it, she popped the second back of popcorn in the microwave and turned back to Finn, leaning against the counter so the countertop pressed against her middle back. "I didn't even know you were down here."
"Probably very. I think Finn is confused now; he never even noticed she liked him before." Teagan laughed, getting comfortable in the bed.
"Hi. Uh… Irena asked me to get drinks." Finn replied awkwardly, loading soda bottles into his arms. He realized that he probably should've asked what everyone wanted instead of just bringing everything, but it was too late for that now. "What kind of popcorn are you making?" He asked.
Irena settled in her original spot and wrapped a blanket around herself.
"Honestly, just buttered, the actual package is buttered and i'm going to melt some butter and pour it in the bowl with a bit of salt so we all die of a heart attack." She joked.
She eyed his arms, full of drinks and came over, taking some from him.
"Better?" She asked with a kind smile.
"Ah, yes. An honorable way to go out." Finn laughed softly, adjusting his hold on the drinks when Beatrice came over to take some from him. "Oh, um… thanks. How are you gonna carry the popcorn, then?" He asked, tilting his head to the side like a confused puppy. He glanced over to the two bowls of popcorn on the counter.
(there's only one giant bowl)
"I'll come back down and get it, if I have too." She said and smiled kindly at him. "After all we don't want you to drop the drinks and have them explode all over who opens them."
(Oh I thought she had two lol)
"I dunno, could be pretty funny as long as I make sure Teagan gets one that's shaken." Finn snickered and shifted the drinks again. "Let's head up, then. They'll start whining if we take too long."
Beatrice smiled and began walking up the stairs, setting the drinks she had down on the edge of Irena's bed and heading back down as the popcorn dinged.
She took a stick of butter out and put it into a small metal bowl and put it in the microwave.
She leaned forward, elbows on the counter as she waited.
Finn headed up with Beatrice and distributed the drinks, figuring that everyone could find something they liked in the pile, and then headed back down to help her with the popcorn. He yawned, staring at the bowl slowly spinning in the microwave as he leaned against the counter.
Beatrice cast a quick glance at him then looked away.
"So, how's your home life? Still shitty?" She asked, just to make conversation.
Finn choked at the question, clearly not expecting it. It did come out of left field, after all. "Wow, uh… yeah, I guess so. Haven't seen my parents in a while. Guess we keep missing them."
Beatrice eyed him.
"Missing them?" She scoffed "more like they avoid you, I know i'm not one to speak considering my dad is never home and when he does come home, he's usually drunk and my mom just sleeps her life away since Joanna died but I think you're mom and dad are terrible parents."
