She returned his smile. "It's lovely to meet you. Kana has spoken about you quite a bit," she chuckled and started to lead them inside. "My name is Leandra Tatarrah, but you may call me Leah." She gestured for them to sit down.
Kana sat down, smiling politely.
Jair nodded, sitting beside Kana. "I see. Thank you." He said respectfully.
Kana and Leandra began to talk about affairs between different cities.
After a while, Kana got up and excused herself. I feel sick… She did in fact, look a little pale and shaky, but she tried to not let that show.
Leah turned to Jair and smiled brightly. "So, are you from Thaera?"
Jair nodded. "Yes." He replied eith a slight shrug. "Why?"
"My father was from there. I'm glad to know that the civil war is over…" She chuckled softly. "You didn't happen to meet an old man named Ryka, did you?"
Jair shook his head. "It's not over. I was just…released from the army because of injuries." He held up his twitching, shaky left hand with the missing fingers. "And no, i didnt. Sorry."
Disappointment flashed over Leah's face for a brief moment, before returning to a polite smile. "Well, I'm glad that you made it out safe."
He gave a small smile. Not safe. Not whole. Not…anything I used to be… He nodded. "Me too."
"Do you want anything to drink? Water, beer….?" She said, as she started to pour two glasses of water; one for her and one for Kana.
"Water is fine, thanks." He replied with a small smile.
(Hey sorry! I've been really busy lately and i don't think that'll change anytime soon lol. But i'm gonna try to respond as often as i can. even though this is probably the only one of the rp's that i'll actually even think about responding to)
Leah poured a glass of water and handed it to Jair. She sat down in front of him and started drinking her own water. "So, tell me more about you. What do you like to do when you're not busy?"
(hey! Its fine, dont worry about it. oof I'll take that as a compliment lol)
Jair took it. "Thanks." He said. "Uhm…read." he replied with a slight shrug, giving Leah a little smile.
She raised an eyebrow, expecting him to say something more… interesting. "Well. What kind of books do you read, Jair?" Leah crossed her legs and set her drink down.
He shrugged. "Anything and everything, really." He replied with a small smile.
"Well, maybe you could read some of my books one day," She grinned at him and tilted her head. Leah thought Jair was very cute and wanted to at least befriend him before he left.
Jair smiled. "Maybe i could." He couldn't help but notice that Leah was adorable.
Kana came back, somehow feeling more nauseated than before. She took the glass of water and thanked Leah before sitting down next to Jair. "So, what did I miss?" She asked, trying to seem enthusiastic, despite how weak she felt.
Leah shrugged. "You didn't miss a whole lot. I was just telling him about my books…." Leah trailed off and looked back at Jair, "I actually have a couple in the other room, if you want to take them with you."
Jair looked at Kana carefully. She doesn't look okay… He thought, then refocused on Leah. "Oh, only if you're alright with that." He said with a smile.
Leah smiled brightly and nodded. "Of course! Let me get those for you…" She got up and made her way to the other room, quickly returning with three books. One was quite small, but the other two were rather large. "Here you go," she gently handed the books to Jair. "I recommend reading the smallest one first."
Jair took them, setting them beside him after reading the covers. "Alright. Thank you." He replied, giving her a small smile.
Leah nodded and leaned on the armchair of the couch. "Hey… Were you going to do anything after this?" She was talking to Jair directly, almost ignoring Kana. Fortunately, the two women knew that Kana was actually going to do something afterwards, and she wasn't about to bring Jair along for that.
Jair frowned slightly. "Uhm…I don't know. I usually just tag along with Kana, so." He shrugged slightly, glancing over at Kana, then back at Leah.
Kana looked up at Jair. "I have to do something by myself afterwards. It's actually good that Leah offered to hang out with you." As much as I don't like that. "You two should get to know each other better," she lied through her teeth, smiling. Is it selfish of me that I don't want them getting too close?
"There you go," Leah gestured vaguely towards Kana, smiling at her last sentence. Hopefully we'll get to know each other very well. "So, what's it gonna be?" She turned to Jair and tilted her head slightly
Jair nodded, then shrugged. "Sure, I guess." He replied. What's Kana doing? He wondered. Where is she going that she doesn't want me seeing orn knowing about? He knew that he wasn't privy to everything she did, but…he sighed softly.
