"You don't have to tell me that" said Silver, looking up at Aurelius again, "I probably wouldn't be able too if I hadn't been forced to at first…"
"You don't have to tell me that" said Silver, looking up at Aurelius again, "I probably wouldn't be able too if I hadn't been forced to at first…"
"Forced to…? What do you mean exactly?" Aurelius asked.
He shifted position a little bit again.
"My best mate, Alex, started going through a rough time shortly after we met…." said Silver, "Some of it caused him to get hurt pretty badly, so i ended up spending the most time with him, acting as a healer…. but he was also in bad shape mentally… being his friend I listened when he needed me to, and tried to help him out whenever I could…." Silver sighed, "Soon after I ended up doing the same thing for his twin since I was the one who knew Alex best…."
"Ah, so this life kind of chose you, huh?" Aurelius sighed, "I think I get it now. Sort of."
"More or less…." said Silver, "I mean.. I'd done the exact same thing before… just… not for someone who had to go through what Alex did…"
"As curious as I am, I know it's not my place to ask about him," Aurelius said, "Must've been pretty bad… I mean, you've seen it all. Close to it, and you say it's bad."
"It's not really my place to say either… And I highly recommend not bringing it up…" said Silver, "Long story short there is a delicate, very very very, delicate, and extremely painful, rift between Alex and Arthur, you watch their eyes when they see each other, as much as they truly care for one another, the pain will always be there.."
"Yeah, absolutely not," Aurelius promised, "I'd never mess around with such a delicate topic, whatever it is. I wouldn't want anyone to do that to me."
He paused for a few moments, acted like he was going to say something, but then hid it as just taking a deep breath.
Silver nodded, "Hang around long enough and you'll end up knowing anyway… but for the time being… all of us just wanna forget it ever happened…"
"Let's change subjects then," Aurelius suggested, "I've poked around where I shouldn't have, feel free to do the same to me."
"Hmmm….. Ever had a girlfriend?" asked Silver curiously, deciding now was an amazing time to make things awkward.
Aurelius went pale.
"N-n-no… I've never dated anyone… I uh… I've crushed on a lot of people though."
"Who?" asked Silver, grinning like a cat.
"Well, uh… there's someone I'm really close to from back home. They're a librarian, and they're one of the coolest people I know. I mean, we ended up being best friends, but that never went anywhere romantically, and I'm glad," Aurelius said, trying to keep his voice steady.
"Anyone around here?" asked Silver curiously.
"I mean, not especially," Aurelius said, "There are a lot of attractive people around here, of course… Hey, you know this isn't what I meant!"
Aurelius was horribly flustered, but laughing pretty hard, which was unusual for him.
Silver laughed, "Better than asking about deep dark traumas!"
"Of course. Just kill me with embarrassment instead, then," Aurelius joked, "Well how about you? You ever been in a relationship with anyone before?"
"Not really" said Silver, "There was one guy back in a rogue pack, but that never went anywhere." he said, "Oh and there was a nice girl with the riders too… but she wasn't my type"
Aurelius almost choked when he heard Silver say something about liking a guy. Silver had specifically asked Aurelius about a girlfriend, so he jumped to conclusions before and was kind of happy to meet another guy who understood.
"Well, good to know we're both equally as single," Aurelius sighed, "You know, I would've thought liking basically everyone, I would have had at least one romantic relationship by now. But alas…"
"So?" said Silver, "It'll happen eventually."
"Maybe," Aurelius replied, "Maybe once I sort myself out a bit more. I've got a long way to go before I can take care of myself and sustain a healthy relationship."
"Alright" said Silver, "But you still haven't answered the original question. Anyone you like around here? Doesn't even have to be a girl, I won't judge."
"I barely even know anyone around here," Aurelius admitted, "but like I said, there are cute people everywhere, so uh… I'm not sure I would call it a crush. One of the healers is pretty good-looking. He's been looking after me a good bit, so we've talked some."
Aurelius was making stuff up, but then realized this description could totally have fit Silver.
Silver raised an eyebrow, "Is that so?"
