"I went after the hunters that killed my parents…. I killed them, out of need for revenge." Said Silver, looking away, "But that was the worst thing I could've done…. all I succeeded in doing, was betray every principal my parents left me with… and create a whole generation of hardened hunters. The people that killed my parents? It took a whole village to take them down. I killed them. I left a whole village, in the same mess I ended up in as a kid. Those hunters were parents…. and their children watched. Their children, have every reason to hate wolves. I had the chance to stop, to change their minds, but I didn't. And not only did I break the healers code, but I broke the Wolf's Code too… Something that is unforgivable…"
“Perhaps that was your case,” Aurelius agreed, “I definitely understand what you’re saying, but I feel like this is different. This woman has joined a group of people that is actively trying to kill us all. She has put herself in danger. I mean, you saw those two guys earlier. We killed them without really a second thought because they were on the offensive. The same could easily happen to her. It’s not like I’m out to personally chase her down because I realize that’s not a great idea, but if I had the opportunity…”
"What if there are other reasons?" asked Silver, "You don't know her side of the story. I know it's unlikely, but she may have had a good reason. That… and taking revenge? It never ends well."
“I don’t know anymore,” Aurelius said.
His voice cracked a bit.
“Well… maybe what we’ve gotta do is make sure they lose this fight, and I will get to see her fail. Watching someone fail is sometimes the best revenge, and I’ll maybe settle on it for now.”
Silver rolled his eyes, "Revenge, not matter what form it takes, is gonna get you absolutely nowhere."
“It’s on our path anyway. We’ve joined a rebellion, have we not? People are going to end up hurt and far worse,” Aurelius sighed, “I don’t even have to set out to get her myself, like I said. Someone else would likely do it for me without the same intent as I have.”
(Yay Time to do lab for 4 hours… I’ll see you later.)
(See ya!)
"True… but don't hurt her out of revenge." said Silver, turning to look up at the moon,
“Okay, but only because I trust your judgment,” Aurelius said softly. “It’s a beautiful night, isn’t it?”
"yes it is" agreed Silver, looking up at the moon, then back at Aurelius.
Aurelius gave only the slightest of smiles. It was more of a smirk, really, but at least he seemed content after everything that had happened. Thankfully, Silver made him feel a lot better.
Silver raised an eyebrow, watching Aurelius curiously. Turning around he casually played with a whisp of silvery aura, starting off towards camp once more.
Aurelius followed Silver very closely. In his head, he tried to figure out how far they were from camp; he was starting to feel quite tired. He was still perfectly capable of finishing the trip, but still exhausted.
"You ok?" Asked Silver, slowing a little, even though he seemed fresh from a food night's sleep.
“Yeah, I’m a little tired, but I’ll definitely make it,” Aurelius replied.
He actually sounded fairly confident this time.
Silver nodded, "Let me know if you get tired!" he said, fiddling around with Luna whisps.
“That’s very pretty. What are you doing exactly?” Aurelius asked.
"Playing around with my Luna aura." said Silver, creating a small moth that whisked around Aurelius' head before vanishing.
Aurelius followed the ethereal moth with his eyes.
“I take it that means you’re feeling a lot better?” Aurelius asked.
He cupped his hands together, and black, wispy shadows formed in his palm. He opened them up again to show off a miniature shadow blackbird. The small bird flitted forward and landed on Silver’s nose before Aurelius waved his hand and the shadows disintegrated.
Silver nodded, "My powers are based on the moon, so moonlight makes me stronger." he explained. "I take it not all of your shadows are dangerous?" he asked as the creature touched his nose.
“No, not at all,” Aurelius confirmed, “I only intentionally pull out the lethal stuff if I want to kill. Otherwise, it’s mostly good for illusion and such. I can also make shadow blades and other more physical objects. It takes a lot less out of me than the dark magic does, so honestly, why ever bother except in dangerous situations?”
Silver grinned, "Sounds a lot like what I've seen other Luna elements do"
“But do you know anyone else who straight up leaks really dangerous magic when they feel strong emotions? Because to this day, I haven’t met another person who has that problem yet. I wish I could you know… actually use that stuff when I want it and only when I want it.”
Aurelius made another little swirl of shadow. It turned into a tiny wolf.
Silver watched the small wolf, "I actually do know someone who had, and probably still has the risk, of a similar problem. It's not so much that the nature of his aura was deadly in itself, but the fact that he'd lose control under stress."
“Thats more or less what I’m talking about,” Aurelius replied, “Unfortunately for me, it’s not always just stress. Any negative feelings, really. But as long as I’m not the only one out there who feels that… None of my friends ever got it. They tried to train me to contain it better, and I’m not so sure that’s how you ‘fix’ it.”
"Unfortunately I have no clue of what might help you.." said Silver.
