Arthur rolled his eyes, figuring he shouldn't have doubted that it would happen, "That would be my ally the Spirit of Chaos." said Aerthur casually.
"Well duh?" said Silver, chuckling as he waited for Aurelius to mount.
Arthur rolled his eyes, figuring he shouldn't have doubted that it would happen, "That would be my ally the Spirit of Chaos." said Aerthur casually.
"Well duh?" said Silver, chuckling as he waited for Aurelius to mount.
"Ah, yes…" Septima said, equally as nonchalant, "It's always good to have powerful allies, huh?"
She ran a hand through her hair.
Aurelius pulled himself onto Silver's back, pleased that he was finally able to do this without help. He had a loose grip on Silver's fur. It was clear he had a lot more trust in the half-wolf now.
"Well, ally in the sense that I owe him my life and he and I are more or less stuck with each other for life…." said Arthur wryly,
Silver nodded as soon as he was settled, padding off, and increasing his pace to something between a walk and a lope.
"But clearly he's not all bad," Septima replied, "He just saved us from what could've been serious danger."
Aurelius watched the forest pass by him, a blur of green leaves and brown bark, and everything in between them. It was a nice day out- beautiful, in fact. However, that didn't keep a little bit of gloom from settling over him.
"What made you think I thought he was bad?" asked Arthur, "I owe him my existence….. I owe him everything I am now…. I couldn't hate him no matter how annoying he got…" Arthur touched the band absentmindedly. I'm surprised you feel that way….. Just cause I don't particularly like being the Chaosae guardian, doesn't mean I hate you specifically, after all, if it weren't for you….
“Not bad, as in evil,” Septima corrected herself, “Bad as in sometimes inconvenient, causing trouble… you know?”
She wasn’t still completely sure what was going on, but she was sure he was sick of explaining.
Arthur laughed, "Inconvienent is one way to put it!" he said, "To explain it simply, he basically lives in the back of my head, unfortunately for me, I don't have much privacy from him, so he can read all my thoughts, which means I get random commentary on the most awkward or random things, at the most inopportune times."
“Ah, okay,” Septima said, “Makes sense, I think.”
She kept moving ahead of the group, just by a few strides.
Once they arrived deeper in the forest, Aurelius got down off of Silver’s back and searched the forest floor for the flowers. He was very quiet as he moved.
Silver watched him for a moment, but soon began looking himself, "Y'know you could pass for a wolf with the way you move.
“I take it that’s high praise?” Aurelius asked, “Coming from you, at least.”
He got down on his knees and brushed his hand up against a pale yellow flower with purple-tinged leaves.
“Hey, is this it?”
Silver came over, "Yeah that is it!" he said, carefully plucking it and sticking it in a small drawstring bag. "And yeah, that is pretty high praise from any wolf"
Aurelius blushed slightly. It was kind of nice to be complimented on something so unusual.
“Well, thanks then.”
He kept searching for more flowers, occasionally glancing back over towards Silver.
Silver spread out, searching for a few more, keeping one eye on Aurelius.
Aurelius gathered a few more of the plants and held them all in his arms while he still collected. He thought he heard footsteps coming from the opposite direction of where Silver was.
"Hey, Sil…ver…" his voice faded out with uncertainty as he began to investigate.
Silver heard the footsteps too, and slipped up in front of Aurelius, "Shove those in here, and leave that to me…" he handed Aurelius the bag, drawing his staff.
Aurelius took the bag and was about to put in the flowers when an arrow whirred past him from above. He didn't realize it right away, but the tip had torn through his shirt sleeve and nicked his upper arm.
"There's more than one of them! Look out!" he managed.
Dark magic seeped from his palms. He looked up to the archer in the tree above and trembling furiously, he cast a wave of dark energy towards them. The archer fell from the branch and onto the ground nearby.
Silver soon had an aura shield up around them, and he stared at Aurelius' Dark aura, "D-Dark magic?!" he asked in surprise, whipping an arrow away from them, sending an ice spike for the second Archer.
Aurelius was too shaken up to reply. He threw the drawstring bag aside before the magic could touch any of the plants inside as the aura around him grew blacker. He tried to get as far back from Silver as he could. His eyes were wide.
Silver watched him warily, "Are you alright Aurelius?" he asked,
"Please… please get away from me…" Aurelius pleaded, "I don't want you to get hurt."
He stumbled back into a tree. No sooner had he touched it, leaves started to wither and flutter to the ground, and where he came in contact with the trunk, there was a big, black mark; it looked as if the tree had suddenly become diseased and died away.
"I just need to calm down…"
He finally felt a sting of pain in his shoulder, which made him that much more upset and panicked.
Silver watched with almost complete shock, swallowing nervously he shook himself back into focus. Summoning his auras he quickly surrounded the area in protective Luna auras, and then Summoned his ice auras, slowly building an ice shield around him and Aurelius. Falling to one knee when he was finished "Can't hurt ice…. and you don't have to worry about hurting me…."
"Yes I do…" Aurelius muttered, bringing himself into a fetal position and tucking his head between his knees, "If I… if I touch you, that will happen."
He pointed at the body of the archer that had been in the tree. Where the magic had touched, the man had open sores covered by dark black splotches on his skin. A strange smoke rose from the wounds.
Aurelius took a few deep breaths to calm his nerves. The aura would dissipate partially for a few moments, but then appear again; he could not keep himself calm enough to control the magic, especially not in his current state.
Silver pulled out his amulet, summoning a golden aura, "You're not gonna hurt me Aurelius," he said carefully, sitting down crosslegged, "And I'm not leaving you."
"O-okay…" he whispered hoarsely, "Thank you… but this could take a while."
He kept his focus on Silver's eyes to distract himself from any worries he had. Aurelius crossed his arms, a hand on each shoulder how he leaned. He took away his right hand, and realized he was actually bleeding. It wasn't bad at all, but it was just enough to top this whole unfortunate situation off.
Silver noticed the wound, using the last of his Luna aura to heal it. "Take all the time you need" he said, forcing himself not to show how close he was to blacking out.
