Fae took a deep breath, clearing her muddled train of thought. “Sorry.”, she apologized quietly. “You okay?”
Fae took a deep breath, clearing her muddled train of thought. “Sorry.”, she apologized quietly. “You okay?”
"I think, maybe, I should probably tell you what's up. Since It's been a while, I think I trust you enough." He leaned forward so both elbows were on the table. The waitress came by and dropped off their drinks, then left. Once she was gone, he looked back to her for her response.
Fae nodded, alert and listening. Her hazel eyes were soft.
"I've attempted suicide three times in the past three years." He decided to lay it bluntly, before he convinced himself it wasn't important to confess.
Fae’s hand flew to her mouth. “Jesus Christ, Cruz. I’m sorry.”, she breathed, shocked to the core. Whoever the hell made his life that bad deserves—-, she cut her own thought off. “I’m sorry.”, she repeated, softer this time.
He shook his head, expression sobering at her reaction. "You don't need to apologize," he leaned back, "And I'm not in danger of relapsing anymore. August has helped me with that," he smiled at the warm memories, "And now you, I guess," he supposed, a particular, gentle genuinity in his grin.
“Oh, Cruz.”, she whispered. “God bless August.”, she added with a small, worried smile, relieved.
He held his mild smile, "Yeah.." he agreed wholeheartedly.
Fae took a sip of her Sprite. “But if there’s anything wrong— if you don’t feel okay…”
He reached over the table to set her sprite down and take her hand. "I'm alright now." He spoke with an undertone of firmness—Cruz was kind of the guy who bore a no sensical, severe distaste of feeling coddled. Though the reason why was to be solved later.
Fae nodded, still worried, but still she smiled down at Criz’s hand in hers. Her stomach grumbles loudly, making her blush, embarrassed. “Sorry!”, she said hurriedly.
"Hah! Nah. Lemme wave our waitress back over," he humored, retracting his hand to wave over the lady. "¡Señorita!" He smiled, "Aye, nuestros comidas, estámos listos," he explained choppily.
"Aye, sí, lo siento," she apologized, "¿Qué quieres comer?"
"Um, yo tomaré.. la tortilla de España. Y ella quiere la paella picante." He grinned. She could swear he was smiling with a michievous smirk at her. What did he say?
Fae tilted her head at him, grinning. “I’m really bad at Spanish class. What did you tell her?”
He answered her after the waitress left, shrugging, "That you wanted normal paella, no spice." He tried not to smile.
Fae squinted at him, trying to figure out whether or not he was lying. “Just because I’m American doesn’t mean I can’t handle a bit of spice.”, she grumbled good-naturedly.
"Yeah? You know Spanish people aren't typically huge fans of spice right?" He tried convincing her, "So they don't sell spicy stuff here."
(Oh my…………………..I almost fell off my bed when I read what you had written in Spanish again. Portuguese is my second language so I can understand Spanish more or less…………………………………HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

Fae shook her head, smiling. “There’s something you’re not telling me.”, she laughed, still curious, inwardly bursting to tell him something too.
He tapped his fingers on the table, "Yup." He teased.
Fae threw her head back in exaggerated exasperation. “Just tell me, I beg you!”
"Mmm, convince me," he replied with a tilt of his head.
Fae groaned, amused. Before she could perky think about it, she blurted our. “Let’s trade. A kiss for the information.”
