There was evidently something bothering him, but he obviously didn't want to talk about it, so Fae changed the subject. "You can help me paint your dragon omorrow, after it's dry, if you want.", she offered, peeling away the wrapper of her Tootsie Roll. "What colors are you thinking of using?", she asked, still wondering what was wrong
"Uhh, lava colors." He absently replied.
Fae located the paints and spread them all out on the table, wings unusually still due to her concern. She selected a two different shades of black, one pure and the other tinged ever so slightly with purple. Separating the reds, oranges, yellows, and even some pinks and greys from the cool colors, she began to organize them neatly into categories of color, shade, complimentary color, and place on the color wheel. Smudge, now fully rested and ready for some playtime, popped out of her handbag and flapped his wings noisily in an attempt to get Cruz's attention, making little wroa wroa noises and hopping up and down, tripping on his tail and waggling his oversized ears..
Cruz sat down and held his head up with his fingers against his forehead, exhaling a puffed, short laugh at the playful little dragon.
Smudge gave a little cough of adorable annoyance and rolled over onto his back, tilting his head cutely and wiggling his little paws, asking for a belly rub. Fae laughed and motioned to the cans of now-organized paint. "Which are you thinking of using for your dragon?", she asked, smiling lovingly down at the baby dragon..
As soon and Sabine her sisters got home, she raced up the stairs to her room. The only thing set up in her room was her bed, and it didn't even have her covers on yet. Oh well. The rest of her room was covered in boxes of all shapes and sizes, each one labeled with what was in it. Sabine went to one of her suitcases and pulled out some skinny jeans, black tennis shoes, a navy blue t-shirt and a navy blue jean-jacket. She quickly changed then grabbed a belt that had a dagger in a sheath, a small survival kit and a first-aid kit. Then she said goodbye to her mom and went to the police station to find her dad.
(where's @St0rmFry? We need Kennedy!)
He shrugged loosely, half nonchalantly, looking down for a moment and scratching his ear.
Fae's anxiety was increasing with each answer Cruz gave her. Setting a can of paint down, walking softly over to where Cruz was sitting, standing a respectful distance away. She reached out to him with the tip of her turquoise wing, her primaries grazing his back lightly in a comforting manner. Fae crouched down to meet his chocolate eyes, hands on her knees to support the rest of her body. "Hey.", she said gently. "What's the matter?" She tilted her head in a quietly watchful manner, letting wisps of pink hair fall into her face.
He tapped his forehead twice with his index finger, quietly murmuring a ¿como se digo a ella? to himself, a pensive, distant look wiping his eyes. "Give me a moment."
(had to google translate that, lol)
Fae was left with a tingling sensation of worry, unsure if she should do something. She stepped back respectfully, waiting for an answer.
(XD when I saw that my mind automatically translated it into Portuguese.)
XD lol! If you want i can translate all spanish into paranthesis if you like ))
"Yeah. I'd uh, prefer to talk about this somewhere else, yeah?" He stood up, "I'll tell you, I promise. Just not here. Not at work," he asked, his expression begging her to comply.
(s'ok! I enjoy it, it adds a bit of flair if you know what I mean)
(oooh, now i'm curious)
(hmmmm…….. a mystery…..)
(lol)
Flooded by a curiously intrigued concern, Fae nodded, trying for a smile. "Only if you feel comfortable with doing that,", she assured him. "I wouldn't want to force you into anything." She stretched her wings, hoping Cruz wouldn't notice how small they were. "Why don't we go see what Mr. Ponticelli needs help with." Fae motioned towards the door, wishing she had Macha's poker face.
Sabine finally found her father. "Hey dad what's up?" Sabine's dad smiled at her over the case file he was reading. "I was wondering if you could help me? The police station has a special case on their hands." He handed Sabine the case file to read. Sabine read it over with interest. She looked at her father, one eyebrow raised. "You're kidding me." He shook his head. "Sadly,no." Sabine gave her father a look of determination and nodded. "Okay I'll help."
(yup! this whole thing is way before Fae's death, by the way. You'll get a glimpse of Macha later, don't worry)
(Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I love it but I hate it. Because now I am attached to a character that I already know will die!!!!!)
WAIT CRUZ'S LOVE INTEREST IS GOING TO DIE?! SPOILER ALERT MUCH, OH MY GOD ))
"I guess. Yeah." He rolled his head to figuratively brush the burden off his shoulders for now, trailing Fae's lead.
(probably not in this actual story line, don't freak out! or maybe it will……. * evil laugh *)
(by the way, I am a mess and keep changing Fae's age, sorry, this is the final adjustment to it, I promise. Fae is 14 turning 15 in a few days, and is in 9th grade.)
They walked together, silent, into the front. "Do you need any help with restocking the shelves, sir?", Fae questioned politely.
(also, can it be the Saturday before Easter please? Say, March 27th?)
(* perks ears up * DID SOMEONE SAY LOVE INTEREST?!)
