(Peter better not die lol)
Macha had disappeared into the clouds, dragging Amber along with her. Skylar felt accomplished. At least Amber was safe, she was so innocent. From the sky she heard a faint buzzing noise. Looking up she saw nothing, but when she strained her eyes, she saw a tiny helicopter in the distance. She wasn't sure if it was Ace, or if it were from the R.A.C or what, but it was coming fast. Before she knew it, the helicopter had reached the street, and a few seconds to late, she realized that it was, in fact, not Ace. Bullets protruded from the helicopter, showering the street with them. From out of no where, Peter came dashing in, and threw himself over her, stretching out his huge wings for protection. Skylar fell to the ground, scraping her hands in the process. She looked up, eyes wide with horror, watching the scene unfolding before her.
Multiple people dropped down, spewing with blood. Screams and cries echoed throughout the street, and plenty others were running for protection. Skylar's stomach churned, and she almost threw up her ham sandwich from lunch. She forced herself to look away, wiping the blood from her hands. She remembered all to well the incident from exactly one year ago;
The scene was pretty much the same. Blood, people, death, the whole kit. Bullets were coming down like this, too. They had all run for cover, but a bullet was coming right towards her and Jean had jumped in front of her, always the heroic type. "JEAN" She yelled, running to her, crying. "Sky it's okay. I will be alright. At least you didn't die, like I know you would, you clutz." she laughed hoarsely. "Jean. Please, promise me you'll be alright." Sky pleaded, salty tears running down her face. She smiled. "I promise, Sky. Here, have this ring. No matter where you are, you will always be able to talk to me. Just double tap the ring and say my name. I will always answer." "Jean…" she said, taking the ring and sliding it onto her left pinky finger. "Please." Sky moaned, holding onto her best friend's hand. Jean's boyfriend, Jacob had pulled her away and promised that he would get her to a hospital safe. Skylar trusted him. Halfway through the journey, an officer from the R.A.C had intercepted them and took Jean, still bleeding out. He pulled her to the middle of the street, tied her to a pole, and took out a cane. Skylar tried to run out to save her, but Jacob pulled her back, promising that Jean would be okay.
From across the street, Skylar could hear Jean's moans as the cane hit her face and limbs. She heard the deafening crack as each of her ribs broke in turn, and the officer's cruel laugh. All of a sudden, Jean went still, and the whipping stopped. He untied her, and she crumpled to the ground, motionless.
Screaming, Skylar ran out and grabbed Jean, rocking her back and forth, though she was dead. Jacob had come to see her, but Sky had exploded with fury, and punched him multiple times in every possible place she could think of. Finally, she stopped, him writhing on the ground. she put her foot on him. "Why. Did. You. Let. Him. Take. Her!" She growled, stomping on him with every syllable. "I.. Coul.. Dn't…. Sto… P.. Him." He wheezed, wincing when Skylar moved. "Please, just kill me." He begged, looking up at her pitifully. Skylar laughed. "And put you out of your misery? I think not." She kicked him one last time for good measure and walked away into the woods. That was the last she ever heard of him. And she never talked about Jean again.
