Valerie had watched in horror as the other magician began his attack. She hadn’t been expecting that and was almost star struck as the scientist disintegrated though it was clear to her now he had never been there in the first place. She smudged the sigils on her arm as to stop her energy from draining further. Then the shot came and Oscar was dead, while Valerie was loyal to her kingdom. This was unacceptable in her eyes. There was no reason to provoke or attack, her lady had said nothing to her about it. She opened her spell book and flipped through looking for the right spell. She spotted yet another figure enter, male decent looking. She shook her head. While the old magician there still enemies in the room. She found the spell and held out her hand, “CONTANIUS” The spell created a magical barrier around them so they couldn’t leave the circle nor attack from inside of it. Val saw the sigil appear beneath their feet and watched as the transparent columns rose from the ground around them. She saw the sigil on her arm and looked between the two of them, “Now then. I am unaware as to why Oscar did that, but I refuse to be slaughtered for his actions. If we could all forget that happened, that would be quite lovely.”
”Now…” Vincent had used his ‘second tone’, also known by his princess as his ‘gentleman’s voice’ ”… young lady, would you be kind enough to release me? I killed that magician because he tried to killed my fellow comrade and if that drone was actually him, he’d be a dead man” the assassin persuaded.
”It is not in my intention to hurt nor to kill someone innocent so… please?”
At that moment, a knock came from the door. As the kingdom of magic had its own spells to it, the fight that had happened was not heard by anyone else.
”Hello? Are you done? Oscar?” it was the Sorceress.
Vincent’s eyes, upon hearing that voice, widened.
’Please, I beg you, Let. Me. Go.’ he mouthed to Valerie.
Valerie saw the man go from confident to frightened the moment he heard her lady's voice. She knew it would be wise to open the door and explain the situation with what was therez but the assassin wasn't there intially. She thought for a long hard moment and stepped towards him whispering, "Give me on good reason to let you go and lie to my lady and then maybe I will."
(Right I’m going to be at work for a good 8 hours tonight so I won’t be online, just letting you know)
The assassin whispered: ”I-I don’t have a reason that would benefit you… but open that door and I would most likely be dead…” another knock came from the door.
”Oscar? Weird…” the voice of the Sorceress came into the room once again.
Vincent gritted his teeth in a stressful way.
”Please… I’d owe you one” he glanced around nervously. He saw the open window… if he could leave, he’d vault through there and head back into the forest.
"Go, though tell me your name before you run. So I can reclaim my debt," Valerie went and smudged the sigil beneath his feet. She turned and walked back to the door going to unlock. She managed to open the door up, "Um, my lady. Something terrible has happened."
Phoenix was a little upset that the princess went running off without her. However she made quick work to dismiss the meeting and head back to her study. She would catch up with the princess in time, though given it was Vincent who had called her, the princess might be fine. She sat down in the study and decided that there was no ways her legs would cooperate long enough for her to catch up with them and decided to wait patiently for their return.
"Hey buddy, want a lift?" Kreuger said through the badge with a smirk, the assassin could definitely tell from his tone of voice. He closed the door and directed his personal guard to ascend. He hovered in the sky at a low altitude waiting for Vincent's response.
”It’s Vincent… thanks…” the assassin unsheathed his blade, activated its electric capabilities, and broke the forcefield which locked the royal guard from Atruxiavir. Upon the barrier breaking, the assassin swept the royal guard off her feet and vaulted through the window with her in his arms.
”No thanks mate, need to do something” the assassin spoke through the badge so the scientist could hear him.
He ran as fast as he could, passing some of the Setruitan’s guards while kicking some of them who were going to attack him.
When he was sure no one followed him, he let the royal guard down and her stand on her own. They were up on the ledge of a tree-filled plateau, much higher than where the corpse-filled forest was.
”Are you alright…?” he turned to ask the royal guard while standing only inches away from her. He reached his hand out to her cheek.
(Happy Valentines, people :P)
The Sorceress came in after the two had left and was shocked at what had happened to the room. She looked around and saw Oscar’s corpse on the floor with a bullet hole through his head.
”Oh dear…” she used a hand to cover her mouth.
”Vincent… that man…” the Sorceress complained silently before turning to Valerie.
”Valerie, contact either Galen or the other arch magicians for me dear” she asked with an innocent grin yet it was clear that she was pissed off about the situation… yet… it does raise the question as to why something so weak as Oscar became an ‘arch magician’?
Kreuger nod and then the ship started to head back to Cershestin, passing the forest that Vincent, Mara and the magician's fought in. Obviously he had no idea that the fight took place and couldn't care more. The scientist watched the footage he had collected from the drone. He felt satisfied.
He checked on his burnt drone that was still in the meeting room through his control panel. He couldn't see through the drone but he definitely heard conversation, a familiar voice, the magician guide and someone else. He decided to record the audio as you never know how valuable those can be.
Everything happens so fast, Varsha was about to chase after the arch magician when he ran for the window but he was dead before she had reached him, a figure then appeared on the window and jump into the room. As soon as she saw the face she immediately realized it was Vincent, the assassin. Before she even got to do anything she noticed that the magic energy around them was changing, a circle was formed around her and Vincent’s feet. A magic barrier ‘What a cheap trick’ Varsha thought.
When she was about to draw out her magic weapon, the assassin then start to speak and negotiate with the magician, the tone of his voice was angelic to the point that she’s starting to melt, but this is not the time to think about that stuff, she brought herself back to the present and calmed her mind.
It seemed like Vincent negotiation when well and the magician let him out. Once his foot left the magic circle he broke the barrier and picked Varsha with her in his arm and jumped through the window. ”What are you doing?” Varsha was still shocked by everything that happened. She squirmed around, trying to get down.
Once they were out of the palace and now back on the field. Vincent let her down on, she stood up on her own feet. She was still blushing from the sudden action, the man then raised his hand to her cheek and hold her face in his palm.
Wissian tucked the bullets safely into his pocket, figuring he should explore a bit more. There could have been more bullets on the forest floor——more evidence to take to Cynthia.
He heard voices not too far away, voices that seemed oddly familiar. Hiding behind a behind a tree, he peered around the corner to find a man and woman stood talking. One of them, the man, looked to have some unfamiliar weapons on him. The assassin??
——————————————————
Maerda clambered back down from the treetops, jumping down into streets where the corpse of her officer lay. The crowd of people made way for her, all of them starting to panic. The Queen knelt down beside to body, taking one of the pins from her hair and jabbing it beside the bullet in the officer’s head. It came loose enough for her to be able to take out cleanly. It was unlike anything she had seen before. A large group of officers rushed to her, standing in waiting for her orders.
Maerda rose, finding a ledge to stand on. She scanned over the crowd, a firm look in her eyes. Everything fell silent.
“We are at war with the technological kingdom, Cershestin. Peace has been our practice for many years, but in these dark times it becomes impossible to follow that path. I ask that the bravest and strongest of you come forward, as your duty as part of this kingdom, to protect it. Protect this kingdom and it’s people. I can not guarantee your safety, but if we do not fight back, no one will be safe.”
’What is happening’ Varsha couldn’t even think straight anymore, she looked up to the man, what a strange man, never has anyone made her felt this vulnerable before in her life. She has always been the strong-minded coolly composed woman, she needed to be the model of decisiveness to her queen, her young-master. At the moment her eyes meet Vincent’s, she couldn’t think of anything but him. She closed her eyes and her mouth suddenly from a kissing posture without her knowing it.
Valerie gave a nod to the sorceress and left the room quickly to find Galen and any arch magician. She was still in shock over what happened, or the fact that the sorceress knew the other man. The assassin from Cershestin she supposed. She gathered who she could sending them to the sorceress before heading to the medical wing.
(Welp, uh… recap please?)
When Maerda spoke, some individuals stepped up. Most were younglings, none looked older than 30 years old though that was to be expected. Some gave a prideful smile when they stepped forward.
”For Atruxiavir, we will fight…” one of them spoke up as the others who stepped forth cheered.
Vincent was not prepared for something as subtle as that. He was not ready nor did he really know what that sort of action was. However… he felt a warm sensation when Varsha did it. If anything, he wanted to continue.
He placed one hand behind Varsha’s neck to pull her in closer while his other hand rested on her waist. He did, though, give the man behind the tree and quick glance before shrugging it off as just something not worth mentioning. It would only break the moment. He closed his eyes, experiencing the moment to its fullest.
(No peeking Wissian XP)
(Oh um… how do I put this. O, Bard, our queen is now in grave danger.)
(She commands the knight to secures the castle)
Wissian caught the man’s glance, his face immediately flushing. He took a pocket watch from out of his sleeve, turning a few of the dials. “Time rewinds while I remain.. I always find this fascinating.”
The world around all three of the figures in the forest began to shift backwards a bit, though Wissian himself remained in place. “Take me back to just before the woman began the kiss.”
(That’s all I have for now as I’m going to work. I will try and respond on my break)
(Well @Aesthetic-FREAKz —)
(Varsha and Kreuger were representatives of their respected kingdom to attend a meeting in Setriutan with a man named Oscar)
(Valerie was the one who took them to the meeting room)
(Vincent had killed a Atruxiavir guard and met with Mara in the forest after she had left a meeting in Cershestin)
(Oscar turned out to have tried to kill both of the representatives only to be killed by Vincent)
(The ‘Kreuger’ in the room turned out to be a drone)
(Valerie trapped both Varsha and Vincent with a spell to which Vincent managed to negotiate his way out of the situation and took Varsha with him)
(Maerda knew about the situation and is now hyping her civilians to help with a war that will be waged on Cershestin)
(…and Vincent and Varsha are making out while Wissian is spying on them…)
(Alright but… WISSIAN!! WHY!!!!)
(A gay always remains a gay 🤷🏻)
(And my baby boi’s bi, he’s gonna be so confused with his sexuality ;~;)
Not entirely sure what had happened, it all felt like deja vu. Vincent had one hand on Varsha’s cheek and was looking at her.
”Are you alright?” he had asked. Again, he felt like he had done this before but he couldn’t remember the details.
(Ehehehe)
Wissian froze the space around himself and the man. He was convinced that this guy was the assassin—the owner of the bullets. Only himself and the “assassin” would be able to speak or move.
He came out of hiding, almost hesitantly. “She’s fine, don’t worry about her.”
