Vincent narrowed his eyes at the magician’s words.
”Wait wait, before we go further, you are telling me that all three kingdoms are hunting me down?” the assassin thought about this for a bit. ”Huh, never thought I’d be so popular—“ he laughed a bit before unstrapping his rifle and firing at a Cershestin scout, one of the five who had just came out. The scout died immediately and now with Vincent’s gun in his hand, he had decided.
”Either way I’m going to go down—“ he looked through his gun’s scope, aiming the barrel in Wissian’s direction ”—might as well go down while I’m happy” he fired three shots in his direction, each aiming at a different part; one for the head, one for the chest, one for a stomach. The bullets travelled fast, at least one would’ve hit.
(sorry Wissian)
Or so Vincent would have liked to have thought. A split second before any of the bullets would have made impact, Wissian threw out his arms. Time slowed down, allowing him to knock each bullet slightly off it’s course. When he snapped his fingers, everything began to move at normal speed, and each bullet lodged into trees. “Please don’t do this.. I know you want to be happy, I know you want the company… but I can give you all of that just as much as she can. Only I can promise you peace. You won’t be hunted down, no longer will you have to unnecessarily kill people.. please come with me.”
(You underestimate the power of a broken boy who can manipulate time)
Vincent winced a bit at those words. He lowered his gun’s barrel. Some thoughts went through his mind and perhaps out of both curiosity and his own cockiness, he said to the magician: ”Then prove it to me”
Wissian swiftly approached Vincent, pulling him into a fierce kiss. The magician opened up his mind, allowing Vincent to see what a future with Wissian would entail. He pulled away, biting his lip. “The clocks don’t lie…”
(it was at this moment Vincent knew, he’d better build a harem)
(So far, Vincent had kissed a person from Atruxiavir, a person from Setriutan, but not a person from Cershestin. Someone please make that happen XD)
When Vincent was opened to see what the future holds if he were to follow this magician, he hesitated. At first, his mind was set that he would follow Varsha, but now? He was very hesitant. He stepped back and thought of something.
”Fine… I’ll follow you under one circumstance. That I will, and I’m serious about this, take both of you to my ‘house’ and I’ll think about it again… sounds fair?”
“That sounds fair.” Wissian agreed, sliding one hand into his pocket. As much as he would have loved to have gotten rid of the Atruxiavian woman, there was less of a chance of Vincent following him into the future. “I’m sorry, all of this may feel a little overwhelming. All I can tell you is that you are not safe. Every kingdom is hunting you down, especially Cershestin.”
Vincent nodded at the last regards. He then grabbed onto both Varsha’s and Wissian’s wrists, pulling them along. About a five minute walk from where they were, a wooden house stood in the middle of nowhere. It was quite small and looked more like a cabin than an actual house. Opening the door, Vincent invited them in.
Inside there was a couch, a circular table, a chandelier, a beanbag, some covered candles here and there, the rest are things you would find in a house though his bed was a couple’s bed instead of a single one.
”Sorry if it’s not much, things are quite expensive and I wasn’t able to afford all that much”
“Nicer than my home that’s for sure.” Wissian grinned in awe when he stepped through the door. He hesitated in the middle of the room, waiting for the all clear that he could sit down.
”You guys want any drinks?” the assassin asked, taking off his necktie and combat boots, setting his sniper down against the wall. He went over to his fridge. Opening it, revealed some several kinds of drinks.
”I have water, lemon tea, green tea, coffee in the cabinet, black tea if anyone wants that, milk, chocolate milk… yeah… that’s all I have…” the assassin said quite ruefully.
The door to Vincent's bedroom slowly creaked open. A tall man stepped out, it was Kreuger. He carried a handheld suitcase and was in his usual vintage pilot outfit. He sweeped his eyes seeing the people Vincent invited. He immediately recognized the royal guard from Atruxiavir but not the magician. He was confused to why they were here but his goal of coming to his friend's house was not to find information or murder anyone.
Vincent gave Kreuger a quick glance before setting eyes on him and blinking confusingly.
”Why are you in my house?” he asked with a raised brow. His movements were slower than usual, perhaps it was because he was in familiar territory.
Kreuger walked pass Vincent's guests and raised the suitcase to his body level.
"Cause of this, might as well give these in person before it's too late"
The scientist placed his suitcase on a table located relatively far from the others. He unlocked it and flipped the case open. The layers inside slowly raised up, forming a 3 level shelf in the size of the suitcase. Various tools sat on each level, they were compact enough and was fit inside the case.
Vincent eyed the shelf, he was filled with much satisfaction. He gave the scientist a joyful grin.
”Thanks mate…” he said quite plaining, examining the layers of items the scientist presented to him.
Several things caught his eyes, too many to actually list out. He, though, was wary of the scientist after he had remembered what the magician had said.
”You’re… you’re not here to hurt me, are you? I can trust you… right?”
Kreuger turned to his head to his fellow assassin. He was frowning. He kicked the young man down to the floor and stepped on him. Everything happened all too fast, especially with Vincent's guard down
His axe was raised, the edge sparking with electricity ready to be swung down.
Vincent wasn’t ready for such an action. He had trusted the man enough to not have unsheathed his sword… however, it would seem like everyone was truly after his head. When he was pushed down, knowing the capabilities of the scientist, he smiled… a sincere grin as well.
”Come on, do it. I know you want to” he wasn’t exactly scared, he knew he was going to die one day or another anyways. To die in the hand of a fellow comrade seemed… rewarding for some reason.
He raised his hand, grabbing the man’s wrist and slowly guiding it to his own neck.
”Do it” he challenged, almost as if he was prepared for this moment.
(Oof sorry I fell asleep)
Kreuger swung his hatchet down onto the assassin's body, hard. The sharp edge hit his body and bounced off, producing a squeaky noise as if it was a toy. The scientist burst out laughing as he held the hatchet. "You believed I was going to do that?!" He smiled at the assassin. "You should've seen your own reaction!".
After awhile, he calmed down and pulled the man up. "Now, do you trust me?" He asked with a grin.
Vincent nearly cursed at the man.
”Damn it, you got me good this time” he gave the scientist a playful smile although he was a bit mad that that was what the axe was.
”Let me guess, Sammy’s idea?” he asked with a raised brow.
”If so, fuck him in particular but that was good”
"It's a classic, my own idea! Now now, I'll show you some cool stuff that should help you" Kreuger said as he turned back to his suitcase. He pulled the the lowest level outward, there were many identical items on it. "This is, of course, the plain stuff you've been using. The batteries for Sinaz root and ammunition for your sniper rifle. I've adjusted the bullet to be incendiary and burns itself though, no traces left behind."
He pushed the layer back in and pulled the second one out. "Now this, is a handy fella" He pulled the object up, a smooth mask with the color of the shape of Vincent's face with only eye holes. "This makes you turn invisible" He smiled then chuckled "No I'm just kidding, but there is some truth to that. This thing makes you invisible to any enhanced vision, everything, from Setriutan spells to Atruxivian vision perks and even our own technology. This won't help you in plain sight and it does need some time to rest after a use period" The scientist then handed the mask to Vincent. "Go on, try it on"
Vincent looked at the ammunitions and gave a small grin. This was going to make assassinations easier, that was for sure.
When Kreuger went on to the mask, he’d raised a brow.
”Nah, you have time make something like that?” he chuckled a bit before trying it on. The mask was light and fit his face perfectly. He was satisfied with the mask.
”How about the third layer? Surprise me” he asked out of curiosity as he took off the mask.
"Eager huh? You better be!" Once again, the level was pushed in. The third one was at the top, it needn't be pulled outward. "Now this one is a banger!" Kreuger smiled, he was excited to show Vincent. He picked up a closed pocket watch that rested on the third level. It was colored black and was smooth like the mask "Look nice eh? I made it to go along with your theme" He nudged Vincent on his gray coat. "Now come along, this is top secret stuff" The head scientist lead his buddy away from the invited guests who was in the living room.
”Give me a moment—“ Vincent said to his guests, allowing them to sit on the couch.
”Top secret? I’m intrigued” Vincent commented as he followed. They were now out in the open field.
Kreuger smirked, he definitely couldn't possibly trick a professional assassin twice. "Check this out." The tall man flipped the pocket watch in his hand open. He immediately dropped down to the floor, his watch disappeared. He wasn't breathing and his eyes were shut, he had no wounds but it was as if he was dead.
Vincent gave a small smirk and sighed.
”You know, sometimes I wonder where you got the idea to make these things” the assassin commented, poking the scientist’s body with a nearby stick he had found.
“Interesting…” Wissian observed the gadget that the scientist was using. A clock of some description, but it allowed any passerby to assume he was dead?
