Tick was lying on the ground in a corner, trying to catch her breath. 'One more round… One more… round…' she thought as the pain started to wash over her. 'One more, then I can get out of here…'
(hey, can i ask where Tick is? or is that too much info)
(Too much info. Sorry. I like holding the suspense.)
"You're welcome," After a moment nervously playing with his fingers, he spoke again. "Any idea where Tick is?"
Rejina shook her head. "No. I barely know the girl more than I know this city so far. I don't think I'll be much help."

"We can go looking later," Nick said, glancing out to the window. "but the darker it gets, the more dangerous New York does too."
"I could've guessed that," she murmured. "Are we going to go now? or later?"
"It's better we go now, lest the criminals come out and play," He stood up, and looked back at Rejina. "Are you good to go? Cause we can always go searching tomorrow…"
She nodded, pursing her lips as she stood up. "Yeah, I'm… I should be good."
“If you say so. Do you need a coat or a jacket?” Nick asked, rummaging through a closet nearby. New York’s weather could change at any moment, something he had grown prepared for over the years.
"No…" She pressed a hand to her forehead. "God…" The pressure relieved some of the pulsing pains.
Nick shrugged on a coat, and glanced back at Rejina in concern. “You sure you wanna go?” he asked again, just in case she changed her mind.
"Yeah, I'll go," she said slowly, pressing her palm harder.
Tick was half way through her last round. She was beaten up pretty bad, but she couldn't back down. She needed that money!
(I'm just gonna go ahead and jump in now since it's getting really close for my character's entrance. Sorry it's kinda long)
Jen had been walking for a long time now, carrying his little sister on his back. He was tired and his back had begun to hurt but he didn't want to take a break. He wanted to find a safe location first, besides, she was asleep and he didn't want to bother her. He walks alongside what seems to be an empty street but soon realizes that he was wrong. A group of guys were on the other side of the street, eyeing him funny. He quickens his pace and the other group crosses the street, he curses under his breath and quickly makes a turn into an alleyway, hoping that they would pass by without getting him into any trouble. He was stupid to think that he would get away without getting called out. The group of four, stop at the opening of the alley where Jen was, he freezes. "Hey, you. What's your business here?" Jen stays quiet, not saying anything, which raises their suspicions. "You're not from around here, are you?" They walk closer towards Jen. "Stop." They freeze. "Back off right now, I'm warning you." The leader looks at the others and laughs at Jen's casual threat. They whip out their pocket knives, Jen scowls and tries shaking awake his little sister. She reacts and wakes up all groggy. Jen gets down in a kneeling position so that she can get off, never taking his eyes off of the guys in front of him. "You don't have to do this. I'm just passing by, I'll be gone before you know it" There is a second of silence. "Things don't work like that around here. There's just something odd about your presence and I'm gonna to figure out what that is!" The guy, with his buddies backing him, lungs forward with the pocket knife and Jen is forced to get in a fighting stance.
(That's long and good!!!! XD)
(Lmaooo thanks guys, I was kinda reluctant to post that giant ass paragraph. I though it would have been a bit too much, but yeah, thanks!)

“Then we should probably get going. Brooklyn’s a large city.” Nick said, opening the apartment door and gesturing for Rejina to follow him.
