Tick nodded and quickly stood, walking calmly into the apartment. As soon as she was out of sight of the balcony, however, she bolted for the corner and curled up, cowering. She could smell that this was not a normal Brooklynder.
Nick sighed, and walked inside. Seeing Niagra bolt, he jumped and got ready to run. She better not-Oh. His muscles relaxed once he saw she only was sitting in the corner, again. Pulling out his phone, he dialed his on-call doctor.
"Hey, Doc. Can you come here ASAP? I have someone that might have a concussion. 15 minutes? Great. See ya."
Tick just rocked and tried to disappear. She didn't want to think about what was going to happen to her. She really didn't want to go to jail, but it would probably be better than going back home…
Nick stuffed the phone back in his pocket, and glanced over to the girl in the corner. His brow furrowed when he saw her rocking back and forth. Was she scared? “Wanna tell me your name?” he asked.
Tick squeaked when the boy spoke to her. She pressed herself against the wall and looked up at him with wide, terrified eyes and choked out, "Tick… Tick-Tock. M-My name is- is Tick-Tock." She threaded her fingers through her hair and curled up tighter, afraid of what the boy might do.
"Alright, good." At least we're getting somewhere. "My names Nick." He noticed her wide eyes and shaking form. "Why are you scared?" he asked. Was she afraid of him? Was he acting harshly?
Tick shut her mouth and hid again, shaking her head. No more talking. It would only make things worse. Plus, he smelled… powerful. …Dangerous even. The only time she had ever smelled something similar was one time far in the past when she had been in a summer camp with her tribe's chief's son. This was bad. Really bad…
Nick began to get worried. Why is she so scared? She certainly can't tell that I'm the…Oh. He almost smacked himself in the face how dumb he was. He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, sighing softly. "You can smell it, right?" he said, not looking at her.
Tick-Tock avoided looking at him. "That's not the only reason…" She laid down onto the floor, her hair spread out around her. "But yes…" She pressed her back against the wall and closed her eyes tight as she tried to calm her racing heart. "I can smell it… What is it? Who are you?"
"Nick Foresting, Chief's son. Nice to meet you." Nick said dejectedly. He hated telling people what his status was; it always made them stop talking to him or suck up to him, hoping to get an upgrade. He rubbed a hand over his face. Just can't wait to see her reaction.
Rejina was pretending to be asleep, but she was listening. The Chief's son?! Oh God Oh God Oh God…
Tick-Tock curled up tighter and squeaked in fear a bit when he said "chief's son". Other than that she didn't do much. She sighed. "Just my luck…" she mumbled. She continued, "Just wait 'til he finds I don't have a permit… I'll be really goin' to jail then. At least it's better than back…" She didn't realize she was talking aloud, however quiet.
"You…You don't have a permit?" Nick said, voice full of shock. If someone found out that Tick didn't have a permit, there was no telling what could happen to her. Jail was just one of the things that could happen. There was no telling with his father. "You need to get a permit, ASAP." his tone held urgency.

Tick looked up, startled. "That… That can happen? How?" She saw and heard his urgency and was confused. "I can't get a permit."
"I…I can get you a permit. I just need your information." Nick knew who and where to ask; to be honest, it wasn't his first time getting someone out of trouble. Running a hand through his hair, he sighed for what seemed like the millionth time that day.
Tick looked at him with frightened suspicion. Then her face relaxed and she said, "No."
Nick startled. "Wh-What? Why?" Why didn't Tick want a permit? She wouldn't go to jail, first of all.
Rejina's eyes fluttered and she couldn't control the moan that escaped her lips when a wave of pain crashed over her head. She pretended to be waking up. "Mmm… What happened?"
Nick rushed over to Rejina, crouching beside her. "Rejina? Feeling alright?" She looks in pain, and that's probably bad, he thought to himself, eyes tracing over Rejina's body to search for any other injuries.
"Not really," she replied. Her head throbbed. "D'you have Asprine or something…?"
