Lea's head shot to the side when she heard a scream. Well, that's not that unusual, is it? Let's just keep following them and oh they're definitely going towards it shit. Welp, this is where my day is going. Fun. I have to call Web tonight and tell him about it.
Tick looked up when she heard a noise of distress nearby. She hopped out of the tree and slunk towards it to check it out. She was curious. The only sounds she ever heard like that were when an animal attacked another in the woods by her house. She used to run to watch them rip each other to shreds.
“Yeah, let’s go.” Walking caustiously towards the alley, he poked his head in for a brief moment to see men laying on the ground, and what looked to be a boy about his age and a little girl. Is he trying to kidnap her?! Jumping full into the alley, Nick flipped open his knife, pointing it at the other man. “Let her go!”
Lea strolled up to the alleyway the pair had turned into and stopped five feet away, leaning against a wall and pulling her phone out casually, pretending not to be eavesdropping. Well, whatever is happening in there sure sounds f a n t a s t i c.
Jen flinched as he heard the voice from the opening of the alley. He immediately swung around to face the owner of the voice. How unpleasantly wonderful. Looks like more of the guy's gang shows up. He glares at the guy, quickly glancing down at the knife he took out then back up at him again. "Back it off! I knocked out four of your buddies here and I could drop a few more." Jen's tone was menacing as if he were trying to protecting something. Though it was all a lie. He couldn't manage another fight even if he wanted to, it was literally impossible in his current state.
Tick skipped into an alley, and spotted Nick with a knife drawn, and in a shouting match with another guy who appeared to be guarding a girl. With her experience with animal fights, she could clearly tell the protective guy was bluffing. He couldn't knock out a squirrel right now. She stepped between them. "Nick, put the knife away. He's not a threat. Please. Trust me." Then she turned her head to the other guy and the small girl. "Hey. You guys okay?" It was kind of ironic of a question coming from a girl dripping blood, sporting bruises, and a limp in her walk.
Lea raised an eyebrow as yet another outsider darted into the alleyway. Something tells me this is going to end badly, one part of her brain chimed. Shut up, she countered.
Nick scoffed. "Buddies? If you didn't notice, I'm not from the Bronx." Honestly, he didn't know shit why the Bronx were in Brooklyn territory. But right now, it wasn't on his mind. What was on his mind was saving a little girl from getting kidnapped.
Wait. Why is Tick here? And why does she look all beaten up?
"Tick? What the hell?" He didn't put the knife away, still pointing it at the other male. If he was going to get in a fight, then to hell with it. Better to go all out than to lose from not preparing for one.
Jen saw the girl get in between him and the other guy, he backed up a bit, not trusting anyone. He saw how the girl talked to the guy- they must be friends or acquaintances of some sort he thought. He glanced back at Aster, ready to give the signal so that she could run but the girl's question caught him off guard. "Oh um yeah. We're fine. We were just leaving….this way" He pointed behind him, the opposite way the others had come from, in a sort of awkward manner. It almost made him look dorky. He starts to slowly walk backwards, not taking his eyes off of either of them.
Tick watched them back away. "What happened here? Why'd you need to knock those guys out?" Then she shot a glance at Nick. "Nick, I swear, if you don't put that away, I will personally take it. And you know from experience I can over power you. Plus, I really don't need another knife pointing at me…" She gestured at a couple slashes in her arm. Then she looked back at the smaller girl. "Hey. Girl to girl, do you guys need any help, or you good?"
Jen's eyes hardened at her question. "Self defence obviously. I wouldn't just start a fight for the fun of it." He stops and realizes that Aster was frowning at him. She scoffs and mutters "yeah right" under her breath. He narrows his eyes at her snarky remark. Aster stayed quiet at the girl's question. She didn't know what to say so she looked up at Jen which was shaking his head. "N-no, we're fine…" she said meekly.
Tick simply nodded her head and backed away from the two. She heard the younger girl's scoffing at his defense, but let it go. I mean, she did just come back from a club that was formed for fighting for the fun of it. She readjusted her bag strap, trying to keep from smearing blood on the fabric.
Rejina wanted so badly to fight, but she leaned on the brick wordlessly. Her head was pounding, and she didn't even realize how loudly she was breathing.
Nick didn't put the knife away, giving Tick a glare. "The only thing I know is that you're good at running away," he snapped, then turning too face the mysterious male. "If you knocked out four Bronxes, then I'm just gonna take a guess and say that you're pretty dangerous," He pointed the knife at him while he talked, gesturing it around.
Jen narrowed his eyes, a dangerous look in them that screamed murder. He was starting to feel threatened again. "Dangerous? I say you look pretty dangerous with that pretty knife in your hand." He spat back at the guy. "No one here has to get hurt. If we just walk away like nothing happened you and your friends won't have to drag your dead body to a morgue." Jen said adding a bit of casually to his tone, like it was no big deal.
Lea sat down on the sidewalk, still listening in. This is getting pretty intense. I'll have to intervene if it gets too bad.
Rejina fingered her own knife in her pocket. "Hey," she mumbled to Jen. "Don't kill him, cause then I'll have to kill you and I don't wannado that."
Tick was starting to tense. This situation just went from bad to worse. "Shut up Rejina. You can't even stand up straight. Nick, why'd you let her come out here? She needs rest! And you're right." she spat. "It comes with having a druggie and drunkard for a sorry excuse of a father. Damn you." Then she looked at Jen. "Don't try to pick a fight please… Just get you and your, sister?, outta here. I don't want more people to get hurt." Tick's legs were starting to shake, and blackness was starting to creep in around the sides of her vision. 'Damn it. I'm not gonna be able to hold on much longer…'
Okay, this is getting too weird for my taste. Lea stood up and calmly rounded the corner into the alley. She went to stand between everyone, stepping over the passed out bodies, so they could all see her and placed a hand on her hip. "Hey there peeps. Let's all stop being fuckdoodles for three seconds, m'kay? Or everyone in here's going to end up in a mess on the floor, and it's probably not gonna be my fault."
Tick turned to look at a girl coming around the corner. 'Not another one…' She was getting weaker by the minute.
Rejina pressed her lips together. "I'm fine," she muttered under her breath about Tick's comment. Her shoulder rubbed against the brick as she shifted away from the wall to show that she could stand up on her own.
Tick chuckled weakly. "I guess you're right. … I'm the one who can't stand." Then she passed out, body falling to the pavement, eyes rolling back into her head.
(Shoot. Should not have knocked her out…)
"Wow I was right I'm so surprised," Lea deadpanned. What kind of idiots are these?
