"That… would actually be really cool. We should do that next time." He nodded.
"That… would actually be really cool. We should do that next time." He nodded.
She stood there looking at him as if he had announced he could fly them both to Mars on a unicorn made of lightning.
"What?" He questioned just as Susan came back with the glass of water. "Thank you," He said taking the glass from her, he took a sip. "As I was saying the Lord will forgive you, he is loving and merciful."
Exasperated, she tried her best to keep her composure.
"God cares about every one of us, including you," He pointed at Susan, "You just have to believe in him and he will reward you."
Susan looked at Drew, a small flicker of hope lighting her tired eyes.
"Shall we take this to your living room?" He asks, craning his neck to look past the woman.
"Sure," She said, leading them into the said room. She sat on a couch, Drew sitting next to her, opening the bible and explaining some of the passages.
Juliette did not follow; she instead confined herself to the hallway, where she paced restlessly.
He opened his bag silently, slipping out a knife that he hid behind him. "and that's how Jesus gave up his life as a scapegoat for our sins." He explained, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Why, why, why, why…..
"Do you want some cake?" Susan asked, completely calm now, completely unexpecting.
"I think that would be divine," Drew replied smiling kindly, but just as Susan got up he quickly stabbed his knife through her neck and she fell back.
He swallowed thickly, his shaking hands pulling the knife out and cutting one of her fingers off. He put both in separate bags, taking out his burner phone and snapping a quick photo before dropping that in his bag as well. He remembered the bible and, not wanting to leave and fingerprints he shoved it in his bag too. He zipped his bag shut and walked into the hallway, nodding to Juliette, trying hard to keep his composure.
She saw the blood on his hands. "Oh my freaking God, you actually did it –" she choked out, putting her hands on her cheeks in horror.
"Can we go?" He said, trying his best to hide his shaking hands and the tears in his eyes, "and can you drive?" He asked, his breathing becoming faster.
She noticed the change in his manner immediately, and was about to make a stinging comment – but thought better of it. "Sure, why not…" she muttered, turning and heading for the car.
"Thanks," He replied, they left the house and got into the car. He shoved the bag in the seat behind him before turning back to face the front. He sat stiffly, his still shaking hands lying palm up in his lap.
She felt awkward, trying to pretend like nothing happened, but she didn't want to address it. Just to fill the silence, she said to Drew, her voice shaking slightly, "We can't act like this in front of Ringo."
"Yeah, we can wait until we're both ready." He said quietly, almost to the point where he couldn't be heard.
They came to the car, and she opened the passenger door for Drew.
"Thanks," He ducked into the car. He tried his best to put on the seatbelt without spreading to much blood, eventually, he was able to do it.
She got into the drivers seat, and started the car. As she drove away from the little house, she wondered how long it would take for someone to find the remains of Susan Underdown.
(Skip to back at the bar?)
(Yeah, I assume they've gone home at some point and Drew's not just turning up with bloodied hands)
(Ah, that makes sense X)
I'll start )
"It's done," Juliette said to Ringo, and motioned for Drew to give him the bag.
Drew nodded, handing the bag to Ringo. He looked inside and nodded to the backroom.
"Are we all good, then?" Juliette asked, smiling sweetly at Ringo with an air of eager anticipation.
It sickened her to act like this, but how else would they get the job done?
"We'll talk," He opened the door to the back door, holding it open for them.
