Vix barely moved, not wanting to wake up. She was relaxed, warm and happy. She didn't want to open her eyes to the chaotic world around her. She sighs quietly in her sleep.
Vix barely moved, not wanting to wake up. She was relaxed, warm and happy. She didn't want to open her eyes to the chaotic world around her. She sighs quietly in her sleep.
"Vix? We need to get up now. Er, thanks, uh… Ace." Da'in said. Ace nodded with an amused look on her face, and left.
Vix grumbled something softly before peeping one eye open. She rubs her eyes with the base of her palm, grumbling softly. She looks around and sighs. "I was hoping this was a dream… The kidnapping at least. I don't like what my dreams told me." She cracks her back. "I got in contact with thr doctor. Ace is trustworthy. But he wasn't so sure about the other guy…" She shifts to a sitting position.
"Okay, well the other guy apparently wants to see us. That Ace lady just came in and told me, so I guess we should get up now." Da'in shrugged.
Vix nods and yawns softly, shifting in her spot and slowly sitting up. She sighs tiredly and looks around, before standing.
"Who do you think he is? I mean, really. Kýrios, well… he scares me. Like, a lot." Da'in stood up, walking to the door.
Vix shakes her head. "I don't know. But I don't trust him." She mutters softly, sighing quietly. She looked around before walking after him.
"Ah, you're awake. Now, I have a little errand for us, a little… trinket of sorts, that I happen to know the location of. It will be used for a greater cause, I'll have you know. The main cause, finding the Doctor, of course." Kýrios appeared right outside their door. "Why do you even want the Doctor?" Da'in asked. Kýrios sighed, then bowed his head slightly. "Well, it won't hurt to tell you. I plan to get the Doctor as far from Gallifrey as possible. He isn't safe here, I refuse to allow anything to happen to him. Our friendship, if you could call it that… well, I wouldn't want to bore you on trivial matters." he chuckled.
Vix glances towards Da'in with a worried look. Her black hair falls into her face but she pushes it back. "What kind of device are we looking for…? What does it look like?"
"Oh, no no, I'm looking for it. The Gauntlet of Rassilon. It's a very special piece of work, very useful, and powerful." Kýrios waved a dismissive hand.
Vix raises a brow and crosses her arms. "Okay. Then what are we, exactly?" She mutters, still not trusting him.
"Oh, you'll be assisting me to, ahem, commandeer the artifact." Kýrios coughed. "So we're stealing it?" Da'in asked suspiciously. "Well, I prefer the term liberating, but yes, if you like." Kýrios gave a small, amused smirk. Ace walked up to the group almost silently. "Right, I've got the stuff you asked for. What's a T.C.E.?" she asked. "Oh, it's a peculiar little invention of mine, the Tissue Compression Eliminator. Although, the name is slightly inaccurate on some counts, it does a little more than tissue." he explained. "Shrink ray then?" Ace asked. Kýrios deigned not to answer. "Wait, I think the Doctor mentioned something called a T.C.E. when he was telling me about his time exiled to Earth. Can't remember when it came in, though, it's just the name." Da'in said slowly. "Oh, it might have been something similar, we did share research in the Academy, as I remember. Well, we'd best make a start of it, yes?" he leered over them, as if he was a living shadow.
(Hey, how are you?)
Vix was listening to the conversation carefully, but silently, she was sending the info to the Doctor, but she didn't pass out while doing it. "So what's our part in this?" She asks, trying not to winces when he leered at them. She didn't like this guy. Not one bit.
(I'm tired. Exams are nuts)
(Tell me about it.)
"I regret to admit that, capable as I am, I will be needing some assistance on this particular venture." he told the group.
She nods. "Okay. What specifically. Da'in and I need to know if we're going to trust you." She glares at him in return. "Because I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what we're doing.
"If you knew the plan beforehand, the vault would-never mind. All in good time, my dear." he said.
She crosses her arms over her chest, her eyes narrowed as she glares at him. "Give me a basic then. You obviously know the plan. Have you told Ace? You obviously haven't told us."
"He hasn't told me anything, for the record. If that helps." Ace said. "Listen, Ky, let me have the floor. Okay you two, I hate this snobbish twit-" "Offense taken-" Kýrios began, but Ace interrupted. "I hate him just as much as you, but I also trust him somewhat, so we'll have to put up with him… for now. Capiche?" she asked.
She growls lowly. "First we're kidnapped, then "saved", then told we have to help find a doctor otherwise we'll be killed. Honestly. And I thought the Ares kids were bad enough." She shakes her head, rolling her eyes. She didn't like this one bit.
"That summary is somewhat inaccurate, but I'll take it. Are you going to help me with this or not?" Kýrios asked.
"What choice do we have? Oh right. We don't." She growls. She was angry, tired and ready to shoot something. So she was a little pissed off.
"Glad to see you've accepted that. I have a private shuttle to the… no, telling you the name of the place would yet still hold risk." he said. "Well, if that's all settled then, let's go." Da'in said, a little annoyed.
Vix looked beyond angry but she held her temper. She glances a Da'in. I don't like this. She mutters into his head.
Me neither. he responded, not sure if it would reach Vix. Kýrios lead the group to a shuttle, metallic, like a bullet, and they set off. Da'in felt scared now, more scared than he had ever felt in his life. The terrain was beautiful, red dust, spiraling chrome towers, but he couldn't bring himself to enjoy the view.
They had made their way through busy streets, when the Doctor got Vix's new message, updating him on the situation. "They were supposed to stay there." he muttered, then focused. Stall for time, whatever you can do. he sent to her.
