Vix sensed his fear. Gently, she placed on of her small hands on his. It'll be okay. The doctor will find us. She assures gently. She heard the doctor. I can't. He won't listen to me. And he keeps mentioning a vault. Something about a T.C.E. she replies.
Oh…. Vix, don't trust him. You've come across the most dangerous man on Gallifrey. The most dangerous man in all the universe. In all the universes, as there are many, believe me. Kýrios, I knew that name sounded familiar. the Doctor responded. "Will, Nico? Bad news. Very bad. I'm sorry." the Doctor said.
I can't keep still. He's an empty husk of a man, I can see that quite clearly. Da'in said. I don't think we can trust him.
Vix's eyes widen when she hears the doctor say that. She gulps. Please Doctor… Hurry. She begs. She squeezes Da'in's hand. We can't. We can't trust him. According to the doctor he's the most dangerous man in the universe. Da'in… What do we do?
Will and Nico look up. "What's wrong?" Will asks nervously as he looks at the doctor.
Vixianne, I'll need to cut off our telepathic connection. There was a residual connection from when we were in that mind-probe area, but I can't risk him invading your mind and finding me out. Be brave, I'll be chatting away with you the moment I find you. And remember, he'll only keep you alive as long as you're useful. After that, he will kill you, and trust me, he's perfectly capable. Stay useful to him. the Doctor sent, and with that, he severed the connection entirely. "Your children may die, soon. We need to find them." he turned to Will, Nico, Alison, and Joe.
"What?!" Da'in said aloud. Ace turned to stare at him, Kýrios ignored the outburst. "It's nothing, sorry. Just thinking."
Vix nods, before feeling him sever the line. Her eyes slowly open and she felt fear chill her bones. She scoots closer to Da'in and takes a deep breath. Calm down, Da'in… the doctor will come and find us, I promise… we just have to be patient… It's gonna be okay. She whispers into his mind, sending soothing urges. She was rather scared herself but she didn't know what to do. She was so frightened. We have to be useful to him, so stay useful. He won't hesitate.
Will and Nico stare at him with disbelief in their eyes. "What do we do? Nico could shadow travel us, but we don't have a specific location…" Will whispers, feeling something protective and serious come over him.
"I'm sorry, Alison. Da'in might need to fight for his life. And Will, Nico, I know where they're going. Kýrios, it's a Greek word. Spelled, in Greek…" he took out a pad of paper and scribbled down Κύριος. "Kýrios. The most dangerous man in all the universes. Kýrios is Greek for, well…. for Master."
"Well, it's going to be a long ride as far as I can tell. How did you two meet the Doctor?" Ace asked. "He's a family friend, and the Time Lords sort of abducted Vix. And the rest of me and my family." Da'in explained sheepishly.
Will raises a brow. "We're aware of what Kyrios means. We are greek demigods after all. My question is, what does he want with our kids? Bait? Bargaining chip?" He bites his lip.
Vix was quiet as Da'in explained how they met the doctor. She had heard her father's tales of traveling through time, but she had never believed it. She sighs softly, looking out the window, her small hand still resting on Da'in's hand.
"I don't know. I… I don't know him anymore. He's not predictable. I'm… I wish I hadn't betrayed him. He might have never put your kids in danger if I hadn't been to irrational. We might have never been in this situation if it weren't for me. I'm sorry." the Doctor said, voice brittle. "Doctor, don't beat yourself up. You're protecting us, and we're going to save my brother and Vix. Alright?" Ozzie asked.
"So, what's life on Earth like? Or in your case, I think you call your planet Ku'atsi, yeah?" she turned to the Alreesh boy. "Actually, I live on Earth. With human parents and a human sister. I'm as good as a human, I think." he said shyly. "And you, Vixianne? You're a demigoddess, yeah? What's it like?" Ace asked.
Will and Nico nod. "We're on your side doctor. We'll get our kids back." Nico assures. He smiles, "don't worry about the past. Just look at what's ahead." Will folds his arms. "There's no use in standing around. Onward!"
When Vix was interacted with she looked up. "It's actually not as exciting as you would think it would be. We're a beacon for monsters." Her eyes flit towards Kyrios, but return to Ace. "Tech doesn't really work around us, but we're hardwired to fight, read Greek, and control whatever power our God/goddess parents give us."
"Okay, hold up. Your psychotic ex, your dead psychotic ex, is apparently still alive and now wants to do some rather unfortunate stuff to our kids, so they may be dead already. Yes? Is this what I'm hearing?" Alison said sardonically. "Well, the Time Lords may have resurrected him, of course, it's not the first time-" the Doctor began, but cut himself off, knowing that if he explained any further Alison would probably beat the heck out of him. "Okay, so you're psychotic ex, who we established is dead, got resurrected. Why would the Time Lords resurrect the most dangerous man in the universe?" Alison ask suspiciously. "What does every reasonably advanced civilization need? A warrior. But they picked the wrong one, whatever he's after, he'll probably just use it to take over whatever is currently left of the universe. He'll be off Gallifrey by sunsdown, if we don't get to it first. Fortunately, I know this city like the back of my hand. Let's go." he said.
"That's actually pretty cool. It's nice to know you can just naturally kick ass. Honestly, if I could have had those skills at the Academy, I'd have graduated much sooner and it would have been easier to get a better job with the CIA." Ace laughed. "Not that the Doctor would have wanted it, of course."
Will glanced at them. "We don't have time to argue. If it is the Master then we need to move fast. Our kids lives are at steak Alison. He can explain once we get moving." He says, his eyes pleading.
Vix smiles faintly. "Yeah. It comes with a cost though. There was a danger at every corner if you weren't at camp HalfBlood or camp Jupiter." She smiled a bit before sighing quietly.
"Okay, but I still have several problems with that. How does the resurrection process even work? What-" the Doctor put a warning finger to Alison's lips. "I'll explain later." he said. "You always say that." Alison grumbled, but she followed him either way.
"Well, yeah, you do have a point. But still." Ace said. "It is pretty cool, her powers, yeah. For the little amount of time we've been stuck together, Vix has been awesome. She's gotten us out of more tight spots than I can count." Da'in said, smiling in Vix's direction.
Will and Nico nod, following after the doctor, their eyes focused and narrowed. Both of them were willing to do whatever it took to get their daughter back.
Vix blushed and looks down. "Thanks. I just try to do my best. I was blind for quite a while, so I felt rather useless. But I managed to train my powers. And now that I can see I can actually use them and not hurt anyone in the process." She smiles. "Da'in is a huge help as well. He's saved me from a few tight spots as well." She smiles warmly at him.
"Alright, so much for subtlety." the Doctor sighed. He glanced over to the left. "Well, lovely." there was a shuttle, like a floating car with no roof or wheel, simply floating there, no owner in sight. "Screwdriver, meh. Sonic screwdriver? Yeah." he said, and set to work hotwiring the vehicle.
"Aw, that's sweet." Ace said. The shuttlecraft they were in suddenly came to a halt. "We've arrived. Put these on." Kýrios, or alternatively the Master, unbeknownst to the group, handed them small silver backpacks. Da'in noticed a string on the side. It was a parachute. Ace complied with small reluctance, but Da'in hesitated. Why would they need parachutes?
Will and Nico look at The Doctor. "You know Will could do that right? He has a way with vehicles." Will shrugs. "All thanks to Leo."
Vix takes it but glares at the doctor. Her Greek mind was spinning. She had heard of the name Kyrios, but she couldn't remember where she had heard it or what it meant. She bites her lip, shaking her head. She glances at Da'in.
"It's got something of a telepathic circuit, as far as I can tell. I'll need to do a short term psychic bond if we're going anywhere. Just a surface touch, really. Honestly, they should really put higher security on these." the Doctor muttered. "Alright, everybody in. Let's go." he said, taking the wheel. "Er, is this safe, Doctor?" Ozzie asked. "Probably not. But it's our best chance, so let's get moving." he told her.
Kýrios had put on his own parachute, and after a few moments, Da'in mimicked. "Once you're a few good yards away from the ship, open the parachute. It's a long drop, but if you hit the shuttle, you'd probably spontaneously combust from the friction combined with the gasses exhausted from the craft." he said. Da'in slowly made his way towards the door. It opened at the press of a button, and suddenly, Da'in was falling. Fast. Back in the ship, Ace was screaming several rather offensive terms within the same instant. "You bastard! What the fuck was that!" she yelled. "I've been told it's easier if it comes as a surprise. You jump out next then, see if he managed to work the parachute." Kýrios smirked. "Or you, since you seem to be so fond of the boy." he grinned toothily at Vixianne.
(Hey, Bleu. How are you?)
Oh my God I am so sorry! I must've unfollowed it bt accident. My notebook was acting really strange the past few days.//
(Oh, it's no problem! You're fine! Wanna continue?)
(Yep!)
Vixianne was already diving after Da'in. Her eyes are dark, she focuses and Da'in slows down, as her hands extend to grab his. "I've got you!" She yells over the wind whistling in her ears. "Hang on tight."
"Parachute!" Da'in shouted back, pulling the cord on his. They were suddenly jerked up, then found themselves slowly drifting down from the billowing fabric. Da'in burst into hysterical laughter. "Vix, you're amazing!" he shouted past the whirling winds.
"Leave him to me. The Master is my demon to face, I'm not risking you all getting killed. Or worse." the Doctor said. They had driven to a dry patch of land on the outskirts of the citadel, with red dust kicking up behind the craft, wind whipping at their faces. "Doctor, like hell. I ain't-" "Use grammar, Ozzie." Alison ordered. "Fine, I'm not letting you go in alone. I'm saving my brother, and then I'm going to tell him off for being such a trusting idiot." Oswald said roughly.
Vix giggles, holding onto Da'in, her parachute expanding as well. "Oh, gods. You're okay. The parachute works. Thank the gods." She kisses his cheek lightly as they begin to land. She smiles and relaxes. "That was certainly interesting."
"I don't think that us dying would be all that convenient." Da'in said. They landed gently on a cracked stone roof, with moss and vines crawling all about. Ace touched ground shortly after, followed by Kýrios. "Well, you're alive. Good for you." Kýrios said sardonically. "Oi. Okay, what next then?" Ace asked, annoyed and frustrated.
"Will, Nico, they'll be alright. We'll be there soon." the Doctor reassured. Aliso drummed her fingers nervously on the metal.
Vix was glaring at Kyrios. "You could have killed him!" She hisses, magic sparking in her hands, her eyes dark. "If you want us to work with you, you have to stop throwing us into situations where you could kill us!" She barks.
Will looks at Nico, taking his hand and sighing softly, shaking his head, sighing softly.
"And you think the Doctor is so much more saintly? Tell me, my dear, do you really know him? What he's done?" Kýrios asked, leering. "Okay, enough. Let's move on." Ace growled. Da'in's fur was bristling in anger and discomfort. He didn't like this at all.
"Listen to me, though. I'm serious. Don't confront the Master. He will kill you, and I already have enough blood on my hands from letting people get in between him and me." the Doctor said. "Jesus, I ain't gonna mess with you or him! Really Doctor, cool it damn down." Oswald held her hands up, mimicking surrender. There was silence for a few minutes afterwards. "Will, Nico? Care to catch up? I mean, I know that now isn't the best of all times, but… we might not get another chance to swap stories, so…" Alison trailed off.
