Krystal stood as well and reached into her cloak, prepared to draw a dagger.
"Speak, boy," she said softly, her eyes darting around to see if anyone had noticed.
Krystal stood as well and reached into her cloak, prepared to draw a dagger.
"Speak, boy," she said softly, her eyes darting around to see if anyone had noticed.
Suddenly he heard a bark. Leaping to his feet, he saw his dog! It was running towards… THE DUSTY SWAN. His dog yelped and howled as it ran through everybody, knocking of Krystal, and Harry cried out. "YOU'RE KIDDING ME!" he said, running after his dog.
Scarlet cursed softly as a large dog ran through the tavern. The dog was soon followed by the same young man who had asked about a dog earlier.
Well, I guess he found his dog! thought Scarlet as she chuckled to herself.
Krystal, too, cursed as the dog ran by her, nearly causing her to stumble. The kitchen boy Scarlet had been holding used the distraction to try to slip away, but Krystal stepped forward and tripped him.
Holding the boy's arm, she turned to Scarlet and said, "Let's take this outside, shall we?"
Harry grabbed his dog by the scruff. "I am soooo sorry…" he breathed, looking at all the damage he'd just caused. "Im just… I'm gonna leave." he muttered, and tried to hurry out the door with the hound.
As the boy and his dog left, Krystal led Scarlet and the struggling boy back into their booth, placing him on the inside seat so he couldn't run. She turned to the boy, "So, what did you hear, boyo?"
"Nothing I plan on repeating" He spoke back, " Besides I'm not the one you have to worry about. The regular's at table 5 are informant's for them though."
Scarlet stared after the boy with his dog, wondering what he was doing. Suddenly, she was being dragged along by Krystal, along with the kitchen boy.
"So, what did you hear, boyo?" Krystal demanded from the kitchen boy.
Scarlet turned her attention the pair in front of her, wondering just exactly what the boy had heard. "Yeah. The Sapphire don't take kindly to eavesdroppers, you know."
"Nothing I plan on repeating" He spoke back, " Besides I'm not the one you have to worry about. The regular's at table 5 are informant's for them though."
Krystal looked over to said table and saw one of the occupants get up and head for the door.
"I don't think so," she muttered. "want me to get that guy, Scarlet?" She had already started to reach for a dagger. Throughout all of this, she wondered why she even cared to defend Scarlet from the Sapphires.
"I'm not eavesdropping" He replied matter-of-factly and with a smirk." Their hearts and mouths are open to whoever serves the good booze."
"and yours are probably open to anyone with a good coin," Krystal retorted
she again turned to Scarlet, "do you want me to find that guy that just left table 5?"
Scarlet groaned at the kitchen boy, then turned to Krystal. "No, I think he's fine. But maybe scare him a little. I'll be right back."
She left and walked toward where she had seen the guy with his dog last. Trying to catch up to him, she walked quickly.
"Nah, whenever I say something no one believes me. I'm just the guy who, and I quote, makes great food and serves the best beer. Plus they always skip on the tab… Well they stopped a little while ago but all the same." He said, his thoughts starting to drift.
Scarlet finally caught up to the boy and his dog. "Excuse me," she said. "Are you alright?"
As soon as Scarlet was out of sight, she grabbed the front of the kitchen boy's shirt, looked him dead in the eyes and said: "I swear on the Forest of my ancestors, if you spill to anyone and Scarlet gets hurt, I will find you and you will regret it." Then she stood up and strode in the direction Scarlet had left, again flicking her cloak aside to reveal the dagger on her leg. She smirked when she saw the kitchen boy dart his eyes to the blade and gulp.
When she got outside, she leaned on the wall and rubbed her face. "Stars, what am I getting myself into?" she muttered, then pushed off the wall and caught up with Scarlet.
Mozos stood for a second weighing the pros and cons, and then followed her certain that either something bad was going to happen or something good. Either way he was going to be there when it did.
Krystal rolled her eyes.Of course the boy followed her. He obviously had no sense of self-preservation.
Gah, why was she even bothering with humans and their problems? She had enough on her plate as it was.
Harry swiftly turned to get to the woods. He had to give the hound back.
"Wait!" Scarlet yelled after the boy as he turned and raced towards the woods. "Darn," she muttered to herself. "What are you thinking, Scarlet? You can't chase after boys. You're a bandit. Bandits don't get relationships, they get items."
Harry heard a voice and turned around. It was one of the girls from earlier. "Hello…" he said it more like a question then a greeting. "Can I help you?"
Scarlet's face flushed as the boy turned around. "I- uh- I just wanted to make sure you were okay," she stuttered awkwardly. "You raced through pretty quickly."
Krystal finally caught up with Scarlet, the kitchen boy in tow, to find her talking to the boy with the dog.
"Oh." He said, startled. "Yes I'm fine. Really, I should be asking YOU girls though. I am SO sorry about this dog," he said, gesturing to where he was holding the dogs neck. "He can be crazy sometimes!" he laughed, and smiled at them.
Scarlet laughed lightly. "I'm fine. My name is Scarlet, by the way. And this is Krystal, and… I don't actually know who this guy is. What's your name?"
