Joe laughs, trying again, to do the…thing.
Joe laughs, trying again, to do the…thing.
The thing watches Joe. "Please don't do me. I'm not doable."
Maria blinked, suddenly surrounded by people again. great she thought just what i need. a bunch of people ruining my mission. i guess i'll have to make do. recruit some maybe. definitely not andreas though. he know nothing about the forth wall and all that. aibhe could be good though. and what to do about caladium? maria turned around, taking in the surroundings, memorizing them exactly. this place would be important later, and she needed to remember it exactly.
(OH MY GOSH BAHAHAHAHHAHA)
Joe burst into laughter. "So, you're dirty-minded?" Joe said, catching her breath, knowing she was as well.
"Who isn't?" maria asked.
The thing grins. (from now on my character is justing to be called The Thing lmao)
"There is a high likelyhood, yes." it replies.
"Yeaaaah!" Joe said, offering a smirk and a fist bump to maria.
Maria returns the fist bump, but hates herself for doing it. she cannot make friends here. they will only betray her later.
Caladium stays hidden in their new perch, their black wings probably poking out of the leaves.
Aibhe was leaning against a tree, slightly amused at the interactions going on around them, but mostly focused on the readers.
(What are you lookin at)
(stop looking at me :/)
The thing looks around and smiles at everyone.
"Well this is going swimmingly, I'd say." it says cheerfully.
"Sorry.." Aibhe muttered TO THE READERS, turning away. "You just fascinate me… I was wondering if you could hear my thoughts, as they are more protected than most others'."
The thing tilts its head at Aibhe and thinks. "Well, yes, I can hear them."
Caladium lets out a small chirp and wraps their wings around themselves, trying to hide from everyone. They seem particularly spooked after their interaction with Naveil.
The thing pauses. Well, more like it freezes.
"Well shit. Welp, we've had a good run." it says snarkily with a slightly scared inflection. "However I'm going to go now- have fun with your eldritch god."
As soon as the thing says this, the sky goes crimson, then devoid of light and color. The earth turns grey, cracked and ashy from a single pinpoint of dust that floats down from the sky, then more follow.
The air itself was starting to become frozen and stale as a weird joinery of tentacles and claws slowly starts crawling out of a tear that suddenly formed in the sky, its proportions so jumbled and hideous more than a glance would cause vomitting and paralysation.
It falls to the earth with a wet SPLAT then starts to reform into something vaguely humanoid, with arms that split into more arms like some strange antlers. It had no eyes, only mouths, and horns swept back from its temples and branched into spikes and rambling curls. It was riddled with open, weeping sores and milky white scares which contrasted with its ashy black skin that was both paranormally dark and painfully bright at the same time. This all goes without mentioning that it was both normal human sized and freakishly large, like an image of it was superimposed atop reality and blown way up like a billboard ad. Each movement came with a roiling afterimage that got etched into the eyes of anyone who looked at it.
"Hello. I recognise some of you need information." it says. Its voice contained whining overtones that made the ears ring and painfully low undertones that shook the earth - literally. Each mouth moved at once when it talked, each seeming to produce these horrible undertones and overtones. "I am willing to provide."
Aibhe grimaced, turning towards the readers again, mouthing "Help"
Caladium flinches hard and falls out of the tree, backing away from the creature. They squeeze their eyes shut and cover their ears, flaring their wings out.
One of the readers shakes her head grimly in indication that nothing can be done to help, that everyone is now very much on their own. The Writerverse stands no chance against the being.
The being looks at Caladium and tilts its head.
"What happens to be the matter with you, Caladium? Would you perhaps enjoy a quietance of the voices?" it asks curiously.
Aibhe rummaged through their empty bag, before pulling out a book. Not the one from earlier. "Protege nos ab hac comminatione." They said.
Caladium makes no response other than a small, distressed noise. They seem to be trembling slightly.
You’re in danger- I’m fine. No, you’re not. Yes, I am. Shut up.
Maria listened to the readers. They were listening to Caladium's thoughts. I was right! Maria thought. They were having a metal crisis. Two voices inside their head. A little magic could fix that, Maria herself had invented the spell. But of course she wouldn't tell anyone. Nobody could know why she was here.
Naveil was busy staring down at… whatever demon had just appeared. He was mesmerized, almost. Almost. His dagger was in his hand before he even realized it. It was his only weapon, so throwing it was out of the question, but he didn't feel comfortable getting close enough for some short-range melee, either. Stars above, of course he'd end up facing off against a… creature-demon-thing in the middle of nowhere.
He shifted his weight. He didn't like this, this was bad. For the first time in a while he was… scared? No, that's not it. Anxious, maybe. Naveil looked away, moving further up the tree.
