Asani nodded, laying down. "W-Will anyone hurt me in m-my sleep?"
Harper looks back at Asani. “I’ll make sure no one tries, how does that sound?”
"What if… what if we just end up going in a circle again? Then we'd look really marmot-ish."
Salmook… had a good point. Naveil straightened a bit, rubbing his temples. This was stressful.
He tucked his dagger back into its sheath. No need for it now that everyone's finally got the message to bugger off.
He was very much aware that at least someone was watching. Nosy. He thought for a moment before speaking.
"I don't know, alright, kid? I don't. But I do know that if we stay in this clearing, we won't get anywhere before somebody snaps."
Resh huffs quietly. If anybody here snaps, it’s going to be you, midget. He continues sharpening his knife, still keeping an eye on the two of them. If they end up trying to leave the clearing, he’ll just follow them. They won’t know, of course.
Salmook was running out of excuses. He really didn't want to leave, but Naveil crossed his arms and was tapping his foot.
"…What are we even going to find out there..? It's… it's not like we're just going to walk home."
Naveil scoffed, but it was clear he had to think about that. He tipped his head and rolled his shoulders.
His voice had lightened somewhat, thanks to the topic change.
"Something to eat, preferably. Past that? Same old, same old. Make a fire, do some patrols, terrorize the locals – the usual."
(Terrorize the locals)
(Can’t wait for them to try leaving and appear in the clearing again)
(Fr-)
(Resh is probably gonna follow them regardless)
Asani smiled at Harper. "Thank you.."
Naveil jumped back in surprise, hissing. This was new. The winds rippled his hair, blowing it into his face. He grunted and tucked his locks behind his ears.
He drew his dagger… only for it to immediately fly out of his hand. Shit.
Another step back. That was his only weapon, true, but that didn't leave him defenseless.
He'd rip the forest-vomit to shreds with his bare hands if he had to…
Salmook sighed behind his rock. What was he supposed to do now? He took his last vine of shellfruit and cracked the shells quietly.
For all he knew, this would probably be the last time he'd eat shellfruit.
He peered up from his snack, and… one of the strangers was walking towards him?!
They were smaller than the first stranger. Still bigger than Salmook, though. And Naveil was too busy to help again.
He had to be brave. That's what Naveil would want, right?
"…Uh, what do you want?! Don't try anything or else I'll… I'll make noises at you!"
Killue continues to glare at Naveil, the wind only picking up speed as gunmetal grey clouds swoop in overhead, a light drizzle turning into a torrential downpour as trees start to creak with the force of the wind.
Naveil looked back up at the forest-vomit. He'd tuned out the winds, honestly – it'd been pretty tame in comparison to the blizzards at home. But it was getting hard to ignore now.
He didn't appreciate the… not-quite-snow. He was used to snow, sleet, and hail, but it felt like the sky was watering him like a plant. It drenched his cloak and, together with the wind, made him shiver. Salmook didn't seem to like it, either.
"You're getting to be really annoying…"
He realized he didn't have a name for this thing. He spat instead.
The wind only gets stronger. At this point, Killue was glowing bright enough that the destruction of the forest was perfectly visible. The rain had turned to hail pieces the size of golf balls, and trees were being uprooted like paper pinwheels and tossed into the air. It was clear, exeedingly clear, that Killue was about to lose control of their unintentional hurricane - at least, to everyone but Killue.
"Stop being a rude ass." they say, their voice clearly ringing out over the noises surrounding most of this forest.
Resh shivered and went behind a tree trunk, picking up Juni on the way. He sat down with Juni on his lap, and wrapped his arms and cloak around her. He pulled his hood over his head.
Juni snuggled closer to Resh, shivering. She wrapped her wings around herself, trying to keep as warm as possible.
Caladium sat in their tree, completely unfazed. They swung their legs back and forth a little, staring at the sky.
Asani had fallen asleep, clutching her injured stomach. Aibhe still just sat there, kinda amused. "Chaos. I love it."
(what has happened? i took a break and have noo clue whats going on… somebody wanna catch me up?)
(Asani got stabbed and is now trying not to die, aibhe is loving the chaos. I forgot the rest..)
