"I want to understand why, Jay. I don't think you get it." Aspen sighed and rested his arms on the countertop, suddenly heavy with emotion. "I- I just… Look, nevermind about what happened. Just- Are you happy with her?"
"I want to understand why, Jay. I don't think you get it." Aspen sighed and rested his arms on the countertop, suddenly heavy with emotion. "I- I just… Look, nevermind about what happened. Just- Are you happy with her?"
Jay looked down. "Wh-.. what? Is this really something we should talk about right now?" Though, he consented, another sigh rising from his throat. "Aspen, Patty and I aren't together. And yeah, I admit it was a mistake, but I don't regret it." he felt like slamming his fist on the counter, just a little. Of course, Aspen didn't think he got it. Aspen also didn't understand, in Jay's mind.
Aspen wanted for all the world to will Jay to come back, and it took all his willpower to force his emotions down. "Then there's nothing left to say. I'm sorry it took you so long to come back, I didn't mean to scare you away…"
"You weren't meant for the life of scum like me.." Aspen broke Jay a little bit. He coughed due to the tightness he felt in his throat holding back his own emotions. "I thought.. Well, I was shallow, thinking that Patty might be like me, but.. Just like you she's so much more than I could ever be.. All because of that damned woman!!" He did pound the counter now, tears coming to his eyes.(I'mma pm you holon)
(i read that right as soon as this came on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKeCXlnL5Lg oml)
"Oh, so you let her influence you again. Good to know." Aspen shook his head in pity and turned his back coldly to Jay. "You know, I get that there's only so much you can do, but you can't let her control you."
(Feels ;~;)
"I don't want to do this anymore!" He was trying to stay calm but he was feeling overwhelmed. "If I leave, I go to jail for the rest of my life, if not get the shot." he scream-whispered desperately, tears streamed down his face, though he tried to pretend he wasn't crying. "She literally holds my life in her hands." He looked down at his own hand-paws.
Aspen rushed suddenly from behind the counter and embraced Jay in a tight hug. "You idiot! I know Patagonia better than you do. She'll kill that bitch in a heartbeat. So would I if it means… You know."
Jay wrapped his arms around Aspen's neck and held onto him tightly, trying to stop his tears. He didn't want to unload this on anyone else, even his good friend Patagonia because right now she had other more important problems to deal with. He was happy to be able to talk about it, and he felt a small bit better. "I'm sorry." He sniffed, "I know I hurt you, and it still does."
"It's fine, honestly. Come on, let's get you cleaned up. We can talk more later… That is, if you still want to." Aspen knew better than to leave Jay with no choice. If he wanted him, then so be it. If not, there wasn't a thing he could do, and he would have to live with that.
(Wow, we all got busy. I guess… I can try to move things forward….)
Alaria burst out of the bathroom, rounded the corner and turned to see the two guys embracing. She considered leaving them to it, but thought the better of it, "Guys, we have a big problem! Patty ain't doing so hot, and I'm no medic. Either of you got some sense of training, or any clue at all on what we can do here?"
(Eh, wanted a little more of an inner connection for Jay I suppose. I don't really know where to push this considering it's kinda centered around Patagonia n' stuff.)
Jay jumped, surprised, his normal expression rearing again as he quickly hopped down from the stool at the shop's bar, rushing into the women's restroom without hesitation. "What's happening to her?" He asked Alaria as he wiped his eyes, attempting to shake the fact that he'd just been wailing like a baby, now focusing on the health of his friend.
"Hell if I know! She's sick or something, I dunno!" Alaria's drawl went wild as annoyance and helplessness got the better of her, "Lucia's doin' the best she can, and I ain't got a lick of training outside of bullet holes and blade wounds!"
"As if I know much better!" He patted Patagonia's back as she wretched into the bowl. "What's got you sick? The ride, something you ate? Are you nervous? What's going on you've gotta say something Pat." He pressed his hand-paw against her forehead, checking for a temperature.
Aspen rolled his eyes sorrowfully and made his way to the bathroom. Did no one else sense what he did?
~~
Patagonia writhed on the floor, crying and feeling blood drip-drip down her legs. "Goddammit, what's wrong?"
Jay watched the blood trail down her legs. It didn't.. smell like normal blood. "Patty.. Who.." He hoped she understood what he was asking. Patagonia hadn't told him about anyone she'd be seeing, but her pregnancy comment came in too clearly in her head. He was almost upset, but it was overrode by worry for his friend.
With sudden revelation, Patagonia broke down on the floor. "No!! Please… I can't…"
~~
"Guys, it doesn't matter what happened," Aspen exclaimed, helping her off the floor. "She needs medical attention. If she really is… pregnant, then this is obviously a bad sign."
Alaria began to call for an ambulance, but the number just wouldn't dial.
"Is anyone else having comms issues?"
Jay already had the hospital's emergency line dialed, and was priority. "I've got it," He told her. He was very quick to call after some of his experiences. He gave the directions to them, holding the phone against his ear, and keeping a hand on Patagonia's back, shushing her while she panicked. He wasn't doing much better himself at keeping it in.
(what is happening omgg if she's preggers its too early for her to be in labour so is she like having a miscarriage?)
(That would be the only reason she'd be bleeding so bad really, YOU SHOULD KNOW THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU DO THEM XD)
(I'M A DUDE I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW WOMEN WORK lol)
(THEN WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT—– Yes, she's having a miscarriage.)
(kk lol)
Patagonia gasped and stood shakily. "We don't have time for this, Y'all go do the Stephen thing while I get.. this fixed."
Alaria nodded, thankful and ready to move elsewhere. As much as it hurt her to see Patagonia as she was, she was thankful it wasn't her dealing with… whatever it was. She turned and signaled to Lucia, "I want you with me, firestarter," then, to Jay, "I'm not going to make you come, if you wanna stay with Pat, but I would like a good shot backing me up." She grabbed her brief case and took out her snub rifle and a couple of hand guns. The rifle, she kept. The handguns went to Lucia and Jay.
"..Aspen." He froze for a moment. He wanted to stay with Patagonia but he needed to do this for his other friends, the ones he'd lost. "Take the phone. Take care you two." He cast an apologetic look to them before gripping the gun in his right hand, placing it condition one in his pocket opposite his Firestar plus, following the commander's lead.
