"Where does this lead to?" Odette asked curiously, excited at Bennet's power.

Maroon knew exactly what was going on. He mentally prepared himself to act surprised as he walked into his left lab. "What's this?" Maroon bent down to pick up a small glass tube. "It wasn't here before."
(cool thanks. my character is Allura: Allura Lethux)
Once she sees that Maroon is in the other room, she drops the illusion, the rock now back in her hand and she stuffs it into her satchel.
(Can Maroon see them?)
(Now, yeah, they would just be back in the main room-area, I guess.)
Maroon saw the others and smiled, waving. "I had a breakthrough yesterday on the blood, but it still isn't ready to test. I wish I could be getting done faster." he pushed his glasses back into place and smiled sadly, "My little brother has blood-cell cancer that won't go away and I promised him that he'd be the first one to get it."
Lucy frowns, her expression sympathetic. “That’s terrible, Maroon. I’m really sorry about that.” She folds her arms over her chest loosely.
His glasses gleamed, "I know that one day it's going to come to me. It might very well be tomorrow! You see, I measured out how much blood I have exactly and prepared a test according to that." Maroon chuckled, "Which is why I'm so careful. One drop of blood taken could set me back years. And my brother doesn't have much long to live."
“Really?” She stammered. Was he just saying that, or did he mean it?
The rift above them swirled angrily, almost as if it was going to suck the group up into it.
(i have to go now, might be on a bit later)
"Oh yeah, definitely." Maroon smiled, then frowned, remembering the day they'd gotten the news. Evan had taken his annual checkup when the doctors announced that he had cancer. Sweet Evan. Who'd dreamed of being an amazing basketball player, but had his thick mop of brown hair fall out, and his muscles grow weak, and his whole body become thin and frail. They'd all donated blood, but Maroon only donated once, because he was out cold for a whole week after just one pint of blood. Maroon had visited him two days ago in the hospital.
"Roon! I missed you!" Evan had smiled.
"I missed you too buddy."
"Roon? Do you love me?"
"No. I don't have a functioning heart, 'member?
"Then why aren't you here with me?" Evan asked, his 11 year old face wrinkling in confusion.
Maroon smiled, "I need to be out there, helping you."
"But what if I can't be helped?"
Maroon held onto Evan's shoulder, "Everyone can be helped."
Evan leaned back, his frail body barely touching the pillows as he coughed out some blood, "Just promise me something."
"What?"
"If I don't make it, you have to. I don't want both of us to die Roon. You have to survive if I don't. Otherwise…otherwise it won't be fair." Maroon wanted to tell Evan life isn't fair. But instead he nodded and promised that if Evan died, he would find a way to live.
(I might join when you guys go into another dimension)
OK.
Odette felt awful, the blood they had stolen was going to cause the death of Maroon's brother. Just as she was about to turn to Lucy in hopes of fixing the problem they had caused, the rift swirled faster, creating a vacuum that sucked the group inside of it, transporting them to a new dimension.
As Allura was walking through the grimy back alleys, she started as a peculiar, ragtag looking group appeared to materialise in front of her. Her curiosity aroused, she hurried over to investigate.
Bennett looked at the young one in front of him.
"It seems we're in U-543, otherwise known as 'Acidrain' by it's locals."
He actually knew that off the top of his head.
"I can get us back home, but these people actually have a similar artificial blood schtick going on here too."
'Maybe we can replace what you two took as well." He said to Lucy and Odette telepathically.
Odette's eyes widened with curiosity and excitement, "We are not leaving this place until we explore. This is my first time in a new dimension!" she exclaimed, saying the last part rather loudly.
Lucy masked how shocked she felt with a blank expression, and she noded in Bennett’s direction. She had no idea that Maroon would need that much, or that it could set him back. She looked over at Odette, nodding her head slowly.

"I suppose we shall." Bennett says to Odette.
Acidrain was home to many different offworlders, people from various dimensions came here, for some reason or other. Theory would no doubt meet some crazy characters.
Lucy took out a film camera, snapping a photo of their surroundings. She tended to move around quite often, and was fond of documenting where she had been.
Bennett looked at her.
"All you guys need to do, is say the word, and I can whip us back to U-113, alright?" He wanted to make sure that they were OK.
