Odette felt sick, where had all the blood come from. Who was this Maroon guy, was this some kind of plan to kill them and use their blood for whatever purpose? Subtly she reached into her bag and found her taser, a small box that would immobilise him for a couple of minutes and hopefully give them enough time to escape if it came to that.
Did you write this before I wrote my paragraph?
(this should fix it)
As soon as he spoke, Odette felt bad. She dropped her taser back into her bag and instead brought out a rubber duckie. She placed it on the ground as a reminder that this place was safe, as she did with many other places she went to.
(Odette has an endless supply of rubber duckies and she doesn't know where they come from so in order to get rid of them she puts them in places she visits)
(I think that's super cute!)
(I need more rubber duckies in my life)
(my rubber duckies :3 - you can have one tho)
The tension in Lucy’s body left, and she nodded slowly in understanding. “At least it’s for a good cause.” She lifted her own bag from by her feet, and slung it over her shoulder.
Robin bumped into Lucy when he stepped back again. "Sorry!" He felt all jittery and strange, despite the fact that he now knew the reason for the blood. It still made him anxious.
Odette nodded in agreement, double checking that her bag was sealed properly.
"Robin, do you want to sit down?" Odette asked the jittery boy.
Lucy placed a hand onto Robin’s shoulder to steady him. “No worries, wouldn’t want you to trip,” she said, her tone level and calm. She nudged up the glasses on her nose, now looking around to observe the lab more closely.
"I-I don't want to touch anything, Maroon asked us not to." He didn't want anyone to be angry with him, particularly not someone with access to blood. Robin looked up at Odette, still nervous. How long had they been gone?
“I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you took a seat somewhere,” She shifted her gaze to Maroon for a moment, watching him.
Maroon nodded, glad that the small boy understood his rules. "You guys can go now. Thank you for helping me. I'm sure I would've died if you hadn't helped, I mean, it's happened before."
That didn't sound right… "What do you mean it's happened before? A-are you dead?" Robin seemed confused. If he had died, then how could he be alive and well in the room with them?
Maroon grinned, "Well, emotionally dead counts too. I had depression for a while."
Lucy frowned, a look of confusion forming. “This sort of thing has happened before?” She questioned, folding her arms over her chest.
(Ignore that previous response.)
Lucy nodded slowly, sympathy in her eyes. She adjusted the strap on her shoulder, glancing around a moment longer.
"You wouldn't believe how many times I've fainted since I was five," Maroon said.
"That can't be good for your health!" Odette stated worriedly
Robin was still confused. He looked around at the others, who seemed to understand what Maroon was saying. 'Emotionally dead'? How could one be emotionally dead? He felt stupid, like one left out of an inside joke or a 'you had to be there' moment.
“I agree with Odette on that..” Lucy frowned now. “What condition do you have, if you don’t mind me asking?”
Maroon ran a hand through his mop of red hair, "Kinjorneopinosineoxisynis."
