"What?" Surely that wasn't a real condition? It just sounded like gibberish to Robin
"What?" Surely that wasn't a real condition? It just sounded like gibberish to Robin
"I've never heard of that" Odette murmured
She arched a brow and asked, “And that is? I’ve never heard of that illness before.”
(I invented it! It's fake in the real world, but real in Proxal and Maroon's the first documented case. Notice the 'documented'.)
(I see.. i had a feeling that you typed in a bunch of random letters and that was the result xD )
Maroon grinned, "That's great! I guess the scientists were doing their job. No one's supposed to know what it is."
Uncomfortably, Odette asked, "Is it contagious?" she felt terrible for asking but she needed to know
Lucy nodded and crossed her arms. Her stared at her shoes for a moment, thinking things through. The disease could be cured some way, right? She considered taking out her spell book and checking for anything, but knew there wouldn’t be anything in the natural magic section, and she did not want to even open the black magic section of the book.
Robin stood awkwardly next to Lucy. At least he wasn't the only one with no idea what Maroon was talking about. He didn't want to offend Maroon though, so he asked no questions
Maroon tapped his headphones, "No, it's not contagious. Otherwise, I think you'd be dead by now."
Odette sighed in relief, "Wait.. how are you not dead?" again, she felt bad - but someone needed to ask the awkward questions and that person was going to be her.
Lucy dug into her satchel, taking the spell book out and opening it. The cover was leather, and half of the pages were white, while the others were black. She turned to the white page section, flipping through the pages, half listening to what the others were saying.
Maroon shrugged, "No idea. Maybe the universe wants to keep me suffering?"
The corner of Lucy’s mouth twitched up slightly in a faint smile as she continued flipping through the pages. “Ever had ideas on a real cure?” She asked, her tone level as she kept her eyes on the page she was reading.
"Like I said, I'm working on an artificial blood prototype in my lab." Maroon pointed at the left wall, that had a single door in it.
She glanced up for a moment, gazing at the door fo ra moment before raising her eyes to look at Maroon. “Close to figuring it out?”
Maroon nodded, "Close. Really close. In fact, I'm picking up my Nobel Prize for it next week."
“Nobel Prize,” Lucy raised her eyebrows, “Impressive.” She folded the corner over of a page in the spell book.
"I didn't think you would take me seriously." Maroon walked towards the back of the room, towards the glass office.
“Why wouldn’t I?” She questioned, turning in the direction he was heading, stuffing the spell book into her satchel. “You’ve given me no reason not to do so.”
Maroon shrugged, "You're right."
Lucy placed her hands on her hips, watching him for a moment before speaking. “If you don’t need anything else, I can let myself out.”
"Go ahead. I need to get to work anyway." Maroon walked towards the wall where they came in from and waved his key, "You can only get out if you're using the key, and you can only get in using the key."
(Does Lucy want to maybe be suspicious and check Maroon's left wall lab out?)
(Sounds good to me.)
Lucy nods and glances from the key to the door on the left side of the room. She gets an idea and follows him towards the door, eyes still on the key, taking in its details.
