(Uh I guess like right after they leave the restaurant. They could just be taking a walk to somewhere, though it doesn’t matter where, they won’t get there probably.)
(okay. Do you want to start or should I?)
(Uh, I guess I will)
Rose left the restaurant with Cade, a delighted smile on his lips. “That was fun,” he said.
Cade nodded, smiling politely. His body was a little tense, and a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead. He was really thirsty. "Yeah," he responded, voice a little hoarse. "It was."
Rose frowned though, looking up at Cade. His brow furrowed as he spoke. “Are you okay?”
He clenched and unclenched his fists. "I'm fine. Just tired."
Rose had a feeling that Cade was lying to him, but he didn’t bring that up. He simply nodded, adjusting the sleeves to his sweater, tugging them down over part of his hands. Was it his fault? Did he bore Cade?
Cade was starting to get dizzy. Things were blurring in front of him, and he could feel his skin growing warm all over. He stumbled a bit, trying to stop his body from changing, but his skin was already tinted blue.
When Rose noticed that Cade stumbled, he put his hand on the man’s arm to try and steady him. “Cade? Are you sure you ar-“ he started, but his eyes widened when he looked at Cade’s skin. It was blue?!
"Y-yeah, I'm fine, just…" He was having trouble speaking. "Do you have any water?"
“Um, not on me, but I thought there was a convenience store nearby. They should have bottled water,” Rose suggested.
"Okay," he said, shaking a little. He started to find that he was having trouble blinking. It felt like his eyes were huge. He looked down at himself, and felt like crying when he saw that his skin was turning a deep blue, and fish scales we're beginning to develop. "I have to go!" He said suddenly, voice trembling.
Ross looked at Cade with wide eyes. He had scales? And his skin was blue? “Cade, what’s going on?!”
"Nothing!" He said, voice raised a bit. He looked around frantically. Fins we're sprouting from the top of his head, scales replacing his hair. There were things wrbs growing between his fingers. "Rose, please don't look at me right now!"
Rose felt a slight bit of fear begin to build up. What was Cade? But he still did as he was told, shifting his gaze away. “What’s going on?” He repeated.
Cade felt himself begin to settle. His eyes were wide open and yellow, resembling those of a fish. His face had flattened, leaving two holes where his nose was. There were find everywhere, and there were gills on his neck. "Nothing. Don't worry about it, I'm okay." He shifted, trying to figure out how he could escape. But he didn't want to leave Rose here alone at night.
“You didn’t look okay.. were those scales?” Rose asked. He didn’t look at Cade, though, not sure if he was allowed to.
Cade wasn't sure how to answer that. He didn't want Rose to know he was a demon… But it was probably too late. And even if he didn't say anything, he had already ruined everything between them. What did he have to lose. "Yeah. They're scales," he said hesitantly, sighing. "I'm not normal, Rose. I'm sorry."
“Well what are you?” Rose asked slowly. He didn’t seem as freaked out as he should have been. He could shift into something too, but it was painful and he hated the way he looked. He looked dangerous and frightening, the complete opposite of who he was. Besides, he always grew overly hot in that form, and it always left him with a terrible fever.
"I'm… A demon," he admitted, stepping away from Rose.
Ross immediately looked at Cade, eyes big. “Really?”” He exclaimed. A grin suddenly forming on his lips.
He froze, confused. Was Rose smiling? "Y-yeah. Really."
“I knew it!” Rose squealed. “I knew there was something different about you!” He paused before feeling a bit sheepish. Cade was probably extremely confused. “Oh, er, well it helps to know that I’m a demon too..”
Cade's eyes lit up, and the fins on the side of his face flared out. "Wait, are you serious?"
“Yes! Now believe me, I would love to show you, but it kind of hurts to go back and forth so I only try to do it necessary. My human body can’t really handle it, I usually have a nasty fever for a day or so after. I don’t look anything like you, though… Oh well! I’m surprised you didn’t notice before, when I messed up with the age thing- oh boy, I thought I was a goner. And my eyes, I don’t think humans have red eyes,” Rose rambled on in an excited tone. He knew he could be annoying sometimes, but he just got very chatty when in a good mood.
