Cade sat at his table, reading a book. It was quiet in the house, and he was bored. There were tons of empty water bottles and gallons scattered around him, and he was still thirsty ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). He fidgeted a bit, glancing over at his phone a few times, and his mind wandered back to Rose. Was it too soon to call?
(oH)
Rose was wearing a bit more relaxed style of clothing now. He walked into his kitchen, his oversized shirt almost covering his loose shorts. He looked through his fridge for something to make for dinner, humming along to a tune as he did so.
(lmao)
With a sigh of frustration, Cade closed his book and set it down on the table, reaching for his phone. He had already entered Rose in as a contact, so he brought him up on the phone. Cade hesitated before he dialed, taking in a deep breath before finally calling. He didn't even know what he was going to say.
Rose had his head in the fridge when he heard his phone ring. He stood straight quickly. Cade? was what flashed hopefully in his mind as he hurried over to where he left it on his kitchen counter. “Hello?” He answered quickly.
Cade swallowed. "H-hi. It's Cade, from earlier. Is this Rose?"
“Yes!” Rose exclaimed, almost a bit too excitedly before he calmed himself. “It’s great to hear from you again.”
(I keep drifting asleep so I'm gonna take a nap real quick)
Cade smiled, leaning against the counter. "Same to you. How was your day?"
(Yeah, that’d be best)
“Oh, it was amazing! I got to paint a lot at work so that was fun,” Rose rambled on. “How was your day?”
"Mine was okay, a little boring though. What did you paint?"
“I’m painting a mural at the café down the street from the bookstore. I forget what it’s called..” Rose said, trailing a finger over his lower lip piercings.
"I'd love to see it," Cade said. He glanced at the clock. There were still a few hours left in the day. "Do you think we could meet up somewhere, and you could show me?" His heart started pounding again.
“Oh, um, sure!” Rose stammered. “I’m not quite done with it yet, though..”
"I'd still love to see it if that's okay."
“It’s totally okay, I’d be glad to show you,” Rose said, smiling to himself
"Okay," Cade said. He laughed nervously. "Maybe we can get dinner or something too?"
Rose glanced towards his fridge. He hadn’t found anything worth eating in there. “That sounds very nice, actually..”
Cade smiled widely. "Great! Where do you wanna meet?" He cleared his throat, hoping he didn't sound too eager.
“We could meet at the café and go from there?” Rose suggested, walking into his bedroom with his phone, quickly getting undressed.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
"Sure. Where's the cafe at?"
(Oh my god, nO my boy is innocent dammit)
“It’s just right down the street from the book store, on 48th,” Rose said as he looked through his closet, tossing a few items of clothing onto his bed.
(are you sure about that ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))
"Cool," Cade said, walking over to his room and grinning. "I'll see you there in about fifteen minutes then?"
(maybe)
“Yes, fifteen minutes that sounds good,” Rose said as he pulled a shirt on over his head.
"Okay, see you then." Cade hung up the phone and stared at himself in the mirror, wondering what to wear. His mouth had gone very dry, and he wondered if he could make it to the cafe without bringing a gallon of water along with him. Probably not.
Rose adjusted his shirt, thinking it would be fine. He looked though various drawers, eventually taking out a pair of jeans and stepping into them. He pulled them up and buttoned them, looking at himself in a mirror. He thought that he looked decent enough. He didn’t know if this dinner was supposed of be casual or more on the fancy side. He really should have asked…
Cade looked through his closet for a few minutes before finally deciding that he would wear a casual button down with pants. He grabbed the nicest shoes he had, which were actually just sneakers, and grabbed a gallon of water from the fridge. With that, he headed out the door.
