Mori was trembling as well, but relaxed a little when Luka held onto him. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see the blood anymore, and buried his face in Luka's shoulder. "The zombie hit me…" He mumbled weakly.
Mori was trembling as well, but relaxed a little when Luka held onto him. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see the blood anymore, and buried his face in Luka's shoulder. "The zombie hit me…" He mumbled weakly.
Rachel slapped a few band-aids to close the wound on Tohru's arm. "Mori, just…stay there. You, also stay there." She said to Luka. "Now, Tohru was it? That's all the glass in your back in arms. Do you want to do the rest yourself, or want me to remove what's in your legs?"
Earl quickly went about cleaning Lilac's wound, being careful not to put anything in that could infect it. Namely dirt, dust, and blood. "Stay still. Calm down. It'll be okay."
Luka rubbed his back. “T-That must have been terrifying…huh?” he muttered, holding Mori close as he tried to stay strong for everyone. It was not easy but he was willing to try! After all, Mori needed him to be strong… Meanwhile, Lilac nodded, tearing up. She wasn’t sure if she could even move without causing more pain.
(everyone is freaking out about injuries, Levi is just having a nap)
(Oop)
Mori nodded a bit and huddled closer. "Y-Yeah… he hit me into the wall really hard and I hurt my head. My arm and my side hurt too, but I don't think it's as bad…" He seemed uneasy, his breathing sharp and erratic. "B-But the zombies are gone now…"
"Y-yeah, thanks, I can do that myself," Tohru replied, moving his hand away from his bloodied arm.
He let out a heavy sigh, leaning back against the wall.
"We're lucky that didn't go much worse. Can't help feeling like it was my fault, though."
Luka nodded, holding Mori close. “Y-Yeah, they’re gone…they won’t hurt us anymore…” he mumbled, smiling sadly as he tried not to look at his bleeding sister. Luka rubbed his fingers through Mori’s hair, smiling some more.
Mori winced a bit and curled in on himself. "Nngh… m-my head still hurts really bad, even though I swallowed the things that Miss Rachel said were gonna help… h-how do I make it stop hurting…?"
"It wasn't your fault. We're all tired and weren't out our best." Rachel replied with a rush of sympathy. "This is really one of the best case scenarios. Really." She sat down next to Tohru, careful not to bump into his arms or legs. "Everyone just needs some rest."
“I don’t know…I really don’t know…” Luka sighed sadly. “If I knew, I would be able to help you…” he trailed off as he pulled Mori closer. He hated how the kid was in so much pain…he just wanted to help the kid recover just as much as he wanted his sister to recover.
"Mmmm…" Mori curled up more, screwing his eyes shut and breathing heavily. "I-I can't… it hurts… I can't think…" He whispered weakly. "I'm dizzy and I'm tired and my head hurts and my belly hurts… I want it to go away…"
Luka could feel the tears forming in his eyes. He pulled Mori close and let him get comfortable. “You should rest…I’ll keep an eye out…” he muttered, looking at Mori. He smiled sadly. “Okay?”
"O-Okay…" Mori tried his best to get into a comfortable position and drew in a deep, wavering breath. Once he was about as comfortable as he could be, it took him a few more minutes to be able to drift off into a fitful sleep.
"No kidding. I just- I wish I'd been a little more cautious coming in. I was blindsided to say the least," Tohru admitted, "But everyone's going to be okay. I guess- I guess that's what's important, yeah?"
Outside, There were inhuman shrieks and snarls, footsteps falling, and all the noises Tohru had been accustomed to hearing in the night. Yet, for some reason, this time it made his blood run cold.
Tohru's body was trembling, and the unease he felt was abundantly clear. The heaviness in his chest doubled down, and he felt anchored to his spot on the ground.
He grabbed for his clothes to pull them back over his bare chest and back, but he stopped with his arms in the sleeves, his head still not pulled through. He was exhausted and everything hurt. Even this felt like more effort than he wanted to put forth.
Soon, Luka drifted off to sleep as well. He was still holding Mori close as he slept. Bean, meanwhile, laid next to Lilac so that she wouldn’t be lonely. Lilac looked up at her sister, fear and worry still laced in her eyes. “Don’t worry sis…you’re gonna be okay….we just need to be more careful,” she whispered.
"Hey. Calm down. It's just the zombies." Rachel said, putting her hand on Tohru's shoulder. "You need rest. Earl and I will take watch, while everyone sleeps. Okay?"
She stood up, holstering her gun.
"See you in the morning Tohru."
Tohru scoffed. Calm down? Like it was that simple. He wasn't just scared, he was reliving trauma.
And rest? Sure. But he wasn't going to be able to sleep.
He pulled his shirt and hoodie the rest of the way over himself, but stayed silent. He was in a bad headspace. Irritable as all hell. Rachel didn't need him to snap at her to let it all loose.
(Beep)
(Should we skip to morning?)
(I vote yes.)
(We can do that)
(Guess I'll pick back up? Feel free to make suggestions for plot points and action, either here or in pms!)
(Alrighty ^^)
Tohru awoke with a start. He didn't remember going to sleep at all, but he could tell he hadn't slept much. The stinging of his wounds had died down a bit, but the panic from last night still lingered more than he expected.
He shifted into a sitting position, a little shaky, but this time it felt like it was from his exhaustion and self-neglect, not fear.
Even so, there was a lot going through his mind. He was glad everyone had survived, but it still all shocked him and made him think once again about what had happened before. He'd tried to block it out, but there would always be reminders.
Tohru got to his feet, pulled back the edge of the curtains, and peered out the window. At least it was daylight now.
Mori was awake before Tohru and had headed into the bathroom, curled up on the floor. He felt nauseous and had already thrown up a few times, and he had a splitting migraine since his pain meds had worn off. Pained tears rolled down his cheeks as he trembled violently, gasping for air.
