Melody snorted. “Honey, you started it.” Her hair fell into her face and she brushed it away, a cold, calculating look on her beautiful face.

"Oh, so now I can't even look at another contestant?" Jade laughed. "I'll keep that in mind," she said sarcasticly.
“No,” she said coolly, “You just shouldn’t stare. It’s rude. But then, you’re probably one of those uncilvilized ones.” She sniffed.
Talin saw Jade’s smile and he smiled back as best he could, fingers drumming slightly faster on the table before he caught himself and put his hands in his lap to stop them from fidgeting.
Jade laughed. "Uncivilized?" She lowered her voice so that Talin and the other royalties wouldn't hear her. "I freaking fight for your country, bitch. I don't think that I'm the uncivilized here. I might not have the ettiquette, but I most certainly know how to behave towards a person of higher rank than me. But unfortunatelly for you… you are not one of them."
Melody blinked slowly, looking as though she were about to rip her throat out. “I’d watch your tone,” she hissed menacingly.
Sonia stifled a giggle when Jade said that. The jerk one with he black hair seems to think that she was the best, and her answer just proved that.
The brunette one smiled, and Jade looked over to her. "What can I say," she smiled back at her, glad that someone actually appreciated her awesomeness. "I'm a natural comedian."
Sonia snorted slightly and covered her mouth, grinning. “I can see that,” she said, with a slight grin.
Zaera rolled her eyes slightly, muttering to herself, "And it begins. Wonderful."
So much confidence in one room. Beatrice, thought, desperately trying not to fidget too much. How can they do that when there are so many people?
Sonia ducked her head when another one of them spoke. She sounded arrogant and pissed, and she was not happy about that.
Lillian saw her son slip into his seat which untraditionally put her in the middle instead of the King, what could she say she wanted to be next to both her boy's and nothing was going to stop that. Lillian placed a hand on her sons and leaned over slightly to whisper to him, "It helps if you imagine they're all just here for the food."
He chuckled and could feel himself relax slightly, “The food here is amazing, I wouldn’t blame them.” Talin leaned back in his chair and looked around, finally seeing the food being brought in by some of the maids.
Jade sat in her chair, looking around the room. The dress was a bit uncomfortable, but she had gotten used to it. The only time she wore a dress was usually to the yearly military ball. This dress was much fancier. She looked over as the maids carried in the food. God, it looked amazing.
Lillian Grinned, "I told you I should give the chef a raise."
"You want to give who a raise?" The King turned to his wife,
"Oh nothing dear, I just think our chef deserves a raise during the selection because he's cooking for a lot more people, It's only fair Lonn." The king mumbled something about not running a charity before agreeing with a nod, "Thank's Lonn you really are the best husband in the world." Lillian pecked him on the cheek before turning her attention back to the delightful array of food on her plate.
Talin listened to his parents with a smile, looking up at the girls for a moment before starting to eat the delicious looking food.
Sonia stared at the food, her mouth watering. It all looked and smelled so good… she shook her head. No, Sonia. Don’t stuff yourself. You may need to run later. She sighed and got some food, but not much.
Beatriz stared at her plate, suddenly feeling very full. She looked around, and saw everyone else eating. She really didn't like eating in front of people, but she decided she would just take very small bites, so it at least looked like she was enjoying the food.
Lillian did her best to appear lady like as she ate, normally dinner was a less formal afar, it was jazzed up for the selection. "Talin, I am pleased to inform you," The queen said after taking a few bites, "That the girls are definitely here for the food." She finished all of her mashed potatoes then continued to talk, "Speaking of food, Lonn, what do you plan on doing for your birthday coming up, I know normally we keep it small and with just the family but…" She looked out at the girls for a moment before looking at her husband. "We should probably do something more because the girls are here, and do our little family celebration separately." She suddenly clapped her hands together, "I know we can have a ball, just a small one, just the girls and a few of the guards so they don't get bored, there is only one Talin and I don't think he can split into more then one person yet. It will be perfect opportunity for the girls to learn how to dance, Oh please can we do it darling please!" Lonn put down his fork and looked over at the queen who had put a hand on his arm and was staring deeply into his eye's, "I never under stood your fascination with Balls, You never like any other royal function but you hear that we're throwing a Ball and you go crazy. Why would a little horse girl want to go to a ball." Lonn responded with a twinkle in his eye, Lillian punched his arm, "You know why Royal Brat, It's because I like the pretty dresses alright, I need an excuse to wear them, and this horse girl can still beat you in a fight don't forget that!" Lonn cut her off with a kiss and whispered, "Cameras darling," Before straitening. "I'm fine with a Ball with the Selected as long As Talin's alright with Ball for the Selected, It's his Selection after all."
(Fascination with balls… sorry sorry okay Imma stop now just ignore me lol)
Jade smiled at the sight of the Royal couple. The King and the Queen were really cute together. "I can assure you that I am definetly only here for the food, your Majesty," she said to the queen with a smile. "I have no interest in your son whatsoever, I just wanted the food," she joked, smiling at Talin as she said it.
Zaera took small bites of her food not wanting to make a fool of herself by eating like a pig. Her years of constant scolding were being put to use for once. She listened in to the other's conversations and noticed the queen mentioned a ball. She had though the Selection would be an escape from her normal life, not a gate back to it.
Melody rolled her eyes. The queen was so childish and dumb, and she was completely lost as to why the king had married her. He could have done better. She delicately stabbed a piece of meat with a fork and brought it to her mouth, watching everyone. There were few that seemed really to be threats, but the ones that were, she could take care of them. Smiling slightly at her long nails, she continued to eat, a plan forming in her mind.
Talin laughed and nodded, “A ball sounds just fine, and as far as I know I can’t split into more than one person so there may have to be some guards there for the girls to dance with as well.” He polished off the cut of meat on his plate and looked to Jade, chuckling slightly and smiling, “Can’t blame you, the food is delicious.”
