Beatriz gasped when she saw the deserts. Never in her life had she seen so much sugar being put on one table. This… if her sister was here, she'd say that this was "diabetes on a plate." Whatever that meant. Despite the playful conversation the girls had been having with the prince, Beatriz still felt intimidated. She tried to focus on the deserts.
Zaera's eyes lit up as she saw rhe deserts. She realized she could eat whatever she wanted without being judged by the other members of her family. She was definitely going to make the most of this.
He smiled giddily as he took a large piece of chocolate cake, digging in immediately without another glance at the other food.
“What, no pizza?” Sonia complained with a grin. She reached for a peice of cake, right as the prince grabbed at it. Pulling her hand away, muttering an apology, she picked up a chocolate covered strawberry instead.
The queen guarded her plate of lemon bars viciously, one can never have enough lemon bars. " Talin, why are you such a chocolate person."
Jade looked at the deserts. She wasn't much for deserts, actually not for sugary food at all. Donuts were the only exception. It wasn't like she was trying to keep a diet to stay thin or something like that. She just didn't see the point in it. She saw a strawberry on the plate and took it, slowly eating it up with small bites.
“That’s a really good question, why are you such a lemon bar fan?” He replied, cursing internally as he realized he had taken the piece of cake right before Sonia had taken it. Without a second thought, he pushed one of the other pieces of chocolate cake towards her with a smile that said sorry.
Sonia blushed. “It’s fine, really,” she said to the Prince, but excepted it anyways. She smiled at the Queen. “You can never have too much chocolate.”
(Chocolate match made in heaven)
(Exactly.)
(XD ya)
Talin nodded in quick agreement, “See? I’m not alone.” He continued eating the cake, both savoring and scarfing it down.
Jade started to get bored with this dinner. "Hey Talin- Your Highness, I mean. Are we allowed to leave the castle area? Like, are we alllowed to go outside of the garden and stuff?"
Sonia flushed slightly at the question. When she had first gotten here, she had gotten lost and found herself in the garden. But was that okay?
“I know it’s alright for you to go in the gardens, as long as you’re accompanied by a guard, and I’m not sure about going outside into the city,” He turned to his mother and silently asked her if it was alright.
Jade tilted her head. "Can I be my own guard? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the service that your guards are offering, but I am a trained soldier. I think I can handle myself."
Talin thought for a minute, finishing off the rest of his cake, “That would have to be discussed, the guards that are stationed here are trained for a lot longer and in different ways than most of the other soldiers in the country.”
Jade nodded, a bit disapointed. "If you say so, your Highness."
Lillian shook her head, "Not without a guard escort remember you girls are basically royalty right now, so security and going places is going to be the same as it would be for Talin or myself." Lillian smiled apologetically at the girls then winked, there were always ways around that rule.
Talin looked down at his empty plate and thought. He didn’t want any of the girls to get hurt or captured, and even though Jade was a soldier, he wasn’t sure he wanted to risk her safety even though she was trained.
"Of course," Zaera said with a nod of her head, "But of course if our gaurds were to lose sight of us they shouldn't be to blame correct?"
Lillian glanced over at her son picking up on his worry she quickly but kindly shut down the girls idea's… for the most part, "No, they would be held responsible, Girls I don't know if you realize just how unsafe that would really be, you're faces are front and foremost in the media right now, if any one were to recognized you and you weren't they're favorite girl…" Lillian spaced out for a moment, " Let's just say it wouldn't be safe even with training, what of there was more then one, mob mentality… no it's best you don't do anything so rash when you could easily get caught.
Sonia made a face. She had never wanted to be famous, and this was crazy. She only did this because there was a very, very slim chance if winning, and she could use the money. And she could protect herself just fine.
She glanced over at Jade. “How well can you fight?” She asked quietly.
Beatrice tried to be subtle about staring at the girl who apparently thought she was more powerful than a castle guard. It was incredible, the amount of confidence she was displaying. If only Beatrice could be like that. But at least when she got kicked out, she'd have eaten well. The whole thing about people trying to kill the Selected scared her, though. She carefully moved her gaze down to her plate, hoping her face hadn't gone as white as she thought it had. No one will notice you enough to hate you, calm down, she told herself.

"Very well." Jade grinned. "I can shoot with both gun and bow and arrows too. It's a part of being a soldier. Why do you want to know?"
