"I had a cat when I was a kid," Jude said, smiling and shaking his head at the memory of the hissing cat, nothing like Macy, "–Claudia. Never liked me. For a little while, I really thought she was a demon in disguise."
"I had a cat when I was a kid," Jude said, smiling and shaking his head at the memory of the hissing cat, nothing like Macy, "–Claudia. Never liked me. For a little while, I really thought she was a demon in disguise."
Nyx laughed at that, looking over at Jude with another happy, adorable smile. "Oh." He replied. "Well, maybe she was." He kept petting Macy.
Jude lightly laughed, not sure if Nyx was serious. "One time, Macy got in a fight with…um–" He snapped his fingers, trying to say the right words, "–My little robot. I just heard hissing and whirring and I turned the corner to find you." He narrowed his eyes at Macy as he spoke, "Little rascal."
Nyx laughed again, pure and happy. "Silly kitty." He teased, scratching under her chin for a moment, then resuming his petting. "Don't you know better than to get into fights with machines? We're stronger than you."
We're. The word stood out in his mind. "–But you're more than a machine." Jude reminded him with a soft smile, "And you know that. And you're special. And you're too cute for me to be around, so…a hazard."
Nyx looked up at him, returning the smile. "I don't know what I am, Jude." he replied softly, still petting Macy gently. "But either way…" he shrugged, and kissed Jude's cheek.
"…Either way?" Jude prompted, his hand moving to Nyx's shoulder in a gentle display of his affection. Macy purred in Nyx's arms, yawning and enjoying all the attention she was getting.
He shrugged, leaning into Jude happily. "Either way, I've still got you, right?" he smiled up at Jude, giving him that innocent, happy little smile.
"You still have me, yes." Jude confirmed with a smile, –until it's over. He wouldn't be smiling like that when he'd leave him. "You had me the minute I met you."
Nyx shrugged again. "I doubt that." he replied. "Statistically, the chances of that are…" he thought for a moment. "Very small." his mouth twitched in something that was almost a smirk. "But I was designed to be visually pleasing to the eye, so."
Jude stuttered a bit in surprise, trying to formulate a reply. "–I was just…" He drew his eyebrows together, shaking his head, "I don't even know what to say to that… I was very tired that day and not prepared for something like 'meeting you' to happen and I was just a little dumbstruck– like…wow."
He smirked a little bit, looking up at Jude with a soft laugh. "Dumbstruck to meet the only cyborg in the world? Yeah, I'd think you would be." he leaned upwards to press a soft kiss to Jude's lips.
Jude received his kiss with a smile, taking a breath to remind himself of that happening– and now this happening. "I honestly didn't know what to think," He rolled his eyes, shrugging, "It really felt like I was hallucinating… like I was imagining you and.." He shrugged again, "I was actually kinda scared."
Nyx laughed softly. "I'll guarantee you that I'm not a hallucination." he replied with another adorable little smile. He was still petting Macy. "Although you should be scared." his words were light and teasing.
"Oh yeah?" Jude said with a lightness to his tone and a playful look in his eyes, "Why's that?" If it hadn't been for his smile, those words paired with him holding Macy reminded Jude of a classic villain in film.
"Because I can break your bones very easily." Nyx replied matter-of-factly, still smiling as he looked up at Jude. He nuzzled Jude's cheek, kissing him at the same time.
Jude laughed at Nyx's blunt statement and shook his head, "–No, it's okay. I have a high pain tolerance, you can break all the bones you like– I won't feel a thing." He joked, not feeling the slightest fear when he thought of him.
Nyx wrinkled his nose a little bit. "I don't think you have that high of a pain tolerance." he replied. "Not if I really broke your bones." he shrugged his shoulders.
"I was joking," Jude explained, "Although some people actually don't feel pain at all– I would imagine that you'd be breaking them for a good reason, and I'd be too doped up afterwards to really think, anyway." His eyes widened at a memory and he laughed,"–Ohh one time, I broke my arm while I was skateboarding, and when I came out of surgery I was all out of it– my friends took a video of me just talking about wild shit. It was great."
Nyx shrugged his shoulders. "I wouldn't break your bones." He said softly. "For any reason." He chuckled at the description, then looked down at Macy again, petting the kitten still.
"Hm," Jude smiled, "That's reassuring." He held her face in a hand, stroking under the kitten's chin and smiling at the heart-shaped pendant of her collar. Jude sighed at her, "So precious."
Nyx laughed a little bit, and kissed Jude's cheek softly. "Well, I should hope it is." He said, then returned his attention to Macy.
"Yes, it's a huge relief that you don't feel the need to cripple me," Jude said with light sarcasm, turning to face him with raised eyebrows, "…Or do you?"
Nyx rolled his eyes lightly, leaning against Jude a little bit. "No, I don't. Besides, if I did cripple you, who would show me around the city and let me out of my pod in the mornings, hmm?"
"Well, I'm sure you could find some equally dashing Upper East Sider who'd be very keen on showing you around– yeah," Jude laughed, looping an arm over Nyx's shoulder and looking to the side, "We all have tragic backstories and know about all the secret spots. You'd have no problem finding another me."
