Nyx took a deep breath, pushing lightly on the pedal. Doing as Jude instructed, and wishing he was free enough to take the other male's hands and kiss him and be kissed. But that couldn't, wouldn't happen.
Nyx took a deep breath, pushing lightly on the pedal. Doing as Jude instructed, and wishing he was free enough to take the other male's hands and kiss him and be kissed. But that couldn't, wouldn't happen.
"Yeah, right there," Jude muttered under his breath, pressing his hands closer and watching as the clay warped beneath their hands, "It's all about holding steady, and just movin' real slow."
Nyx nodded, keeping his eyes on the clay and following Jude's instructions. He took a deep breath, biting his lip a little.
Jude took note of Nyx's silence, and his gaze flickered to his face, "You okay?" He asked, and realized that was a useless question. He'd always say yes, that nothing was the matter and that everything was fine. Nearly everyone in the world did this, and the way they hid behind neutral words and expressions frustrated him.
Nyx blinked. "What? Oh. Yeah. I'm fine." he replied, glancing up at Jude for a moment, then to the clay again. "I'm fine." he repeated.
"Okay," Jude said slowly, "I just…don't want you to get overwhelmed or anything. Tell me if it's too much?" He offered a weak smile, trying to push away his own stirring emotions at the feeling of their hands together.
"Okay. I'm good right now, though." Nyx replied quietly. He ran a hand through his hair, looking at Jude and trying so hard to ignore the way their hands were pressed together on the clay. Trying not to think about how badly he wanted and needed Jude.
Jude nodded, smiling at the shape of their clay. "So, now," He said, pressing the sides of his thumbs closer to the center and watching as edges spun and stretched out. "Just press it down a bit, like flattening the top," Jude said.
Nyx nodded slightly, doing as Jude instructed, taking a deep breath and pushing his thoughts away.
"There we go," Jude chuckled, watching the clay come to life and bend into a wobbly bowl. "Here, let me just–" He moved his stool a little behind Nyx's, slowly bringing his hands around him to either side and looking over his shoulder, guiding his hands on the spinning sides of the clay and trying to shake away the fact of how close they were.
Nyx stiffened a little bit as he felt Jude's body against his, and swallowed, trying desperately to focus on the task at hand, on the bowl taking shape beneath their hands. But damn, it was so hard because Jude was right there, and Nyx couldn't stop thinking about how badly he wanted to kiss the other male.
Jude smiled through his clenched jaw, letting his hands curl over Nyx's, warm and covered in slippery clay moving steadily against the spinning bowl. He had a perfect view of his side profile, still looking a little distant and staring straight ahead, It would be a perfect time to kiss him. But he couldn't because that would be setting the both of them up for pain and heartache at the end of their time together. And Nyx…he might not know how to cope with it, Jude had no idea what their separation might do to Nyx, and it was terrifying to think of how bad he might end up hurting him.
Nyx closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them again, glad that he couldn't blush. Because he would be, if he physically could. He focused on the clay, on the way Jude guided his hands.
Jude's thoughts strayed for a moment, picturing the two of them like this on lazy Sunday afternoons, warm sunlight peeking through the windows of his studio, Nyx laughing softly as Jude would whisper honeyed words into his ear and steal kisses whenever he'd turn to face him, watching their hands travel around whatever it was they were making. Now all they had between them was quiet longing and wishful thinking. "What do you think of it so far?" Jude asked softly.
Nyx jumped a little, startled from his thoughts. "Oh! I uhm…" He trailed off. "It's interesting." He replied finally. The texture of it on his hands was different than anything he'd ever felt, and…the feeling of Jude's body against his wasn't unpleasant either.
Jude smiled at Nyx's little flinch, "Oh yeah?" He murmured, his voice a little lower than he meant it to be. Without thinking, he ran his hands over Nyx's, affectionate enough to make his heart flutter but subtle enough to be overlooked.
Nyx could feel his heart racing, and inhaled, swallowing. "Yeah…" he breathed, closing his eyes for just a moment and trying to control the way his heart was roaring through his veins, the way his entire being wanted to press into Jude's touch.
"It feels good, right?" Jude said, his smile seeping into his words, risking another move over Nyx's hands, sliding over his knuckles and feeling the hum of the wheel reverberating through the clay.
Nyx swallowed again, taking a deep breath. He nodded a little bit. "Yeah." He agreed, though he was thinking more along the lines of Jude's hands, the other boy's body.
"I find it really calming." Jude sighed, lightly pushing their hands closer and watching as the clay curved into the pressure. "It's like– you have to steady your thoughts, or you'll release it through your hands and the clay will be all crooked." Somehow, the thought of Nyx was both a nerve-wracking and pacifying thing, and within those very tides of chaos and stability, Jude had found his favourite place to be.
Nyx nodded a little bit. "My hands don't have the same amount of…motion and stuff that yours do, though." he replied, eyebrows drawing together. "They won't tremble or shake or anything if I'm angry or upset or nervous." Thank God, otherwise they'd be shaking right now because you're so close and I can't do anything about it.
Jude made a curious sound of quiet surprise, "Huh." Another thing he didn't know about him. I was given hands that sin, and he; ones that hold too tightly. "Well, then, I'd imagine you'd be very good at this." He told him, guiding their hands to the inner side of the bowl and smiled at the curves forming.
Nyx took a deep breath, and nodded. "Maybe so." he replied softly. He let Jude guide his hands and trying not to imagine what it would feel like to have those same hands touching him. Trying not to think about those hands in his.
Jude smiled, a little distracted by Nyx's hands under his, holding the sides of the spinning bowl. His hands found their way over Nyx's, affection that wasn't meant to be noticed, but this time, not as subtle as he'd planned. Whoops.
Nyx's breath sharpened a little bit as he felt the way Jude's hands moved to cover his own, and he bit his lip, looking at the bowl and trying to ignore the way his heart felt like it was going to pound out of his chest.
