Jude noticed Nyx's distant gaze, "What on your mind?" He asked softly, almost bumping into an oriental vase and distancing himself from it.
Jude noticed Nyx's distant gaze, "What on your mind?" He asked softly, almost bumping into an oriental vase and distancing himself from it.
Nyx blinked, focusing again. "Hm? Oh. Nothing." he lied, eyes flashing around the room. He couldn't admit that he was still thinking about the kisses. Still thinking about rolling down the hill in the setting sun and pressing his mouth against Jude's.
"You sure?" Jude smiled, catching his fleeting look but not wanting to be persistent, "You seem a little adrift."
"Yeah. Sorry. Just thinking." he replied, shaking his head a little bit. "It's nothing important, though." he ran a hand through his hair, letting out a slow breath.
"…Okay," Jude said softly, quietly wishing he could take a step closer and wrap his arms around him. It's just the way he looks in this light… The warm light bouncing off the rough pillars filled the room with a glow, just tempting, "Even if it's not important, you can tell me."
Nyx gave Jude a smile. "I know. I just…don't think I should share this." he replied, looking away for a moment. He let out a breath.
"Hm," Jude said, looking at the ground and studying his shoelaces. Maybe I should stop talking, "Well, you can tell me anything, you know that." He said quietly, shrugging a bit.
Nyx nodded. "Yeah, I know." He replied softly. I just shouldn't say how much I still want to kiss you, because I know it's bad for you, and talking about it will make it worse. He sighed softly.
Jude bit his lip, "Okay, as long as you know that." Ever since he was a kid, he had trouble looking people in the eye when it came to moments like these; a little vulnerable in a comfortable silence above the hum of tourists. "What do you want to do next?"
Nyx shrugged a little. "I don't know. Is there anywhere else to go see?" He asked. He looked at Jude, eyes flicking to Jude's mouth for a moment, then back to Jude's eyes, reprimanding himself for that slip.
"In the museum, or the city?" Jude asked, running a hand through his hair and snapping back to reality, "Unfortunately, this city is a cesspool of tourist traps, but it's pretty damn beautiful," He smiled, thinking about his summertime in LA, couch surfing and scavenging for some less busy sightseeing.
"I meant the museum, but the city would be alright too." Nyx replied with a smile. He looked up at Jude, and leaned against him a bit without thinking. He blinked, and quickly straightened, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. "Er…sorry." he said quickly.
" 'S okay," Jude smiled, looking down sheepishly, "You're allowed to touch me, I don't mind." Anytime. Please do.
He tried to shrug it off, smiling and pointing to a sign with arrows, "Hmm- right, the next exhibit–"
Nyx took a deep breath, and nodded, walking and following Jude out of the museum. He fidgeted with the hem of the shirt again, chewing on his lower lip.
(wait are they out of the museum now?)
(uhm…I assumed they were leaving?? Was I wrong?)
(well, it doesn’t rlly matter whether they stay or go ~whichever is fine)
(kk. Then yes, they are out of the museum)
Jude walked out of the museum and into the cool afternoon, the streets still crowded and central park joggers from around the corner merging into the sidewalks.
“So, where to next?” Jude asked, moving down the grand steps and pulling his sunglasses down.
Nyx shrugged a little bit. "I don't know. I've hardly been anywhere in this city, remember?" he replied, looking over at Jude. He ran his fingers through his hair, wishing desperately that he could reach out and pull Jude closer, could kiss him and be held.
"Right," Jude shook his head, quickly remembering that Nyx wasn't just a regular New Yorker he was sweet for. He smiled and pulled on the sleeves of his hoodie, "Well, Central Park is just around the corner, literally. We could go there?"
(I won't really be on tonight, sorry)
Nyx blinked, then shrugged. "Uhm…sure." he replied with a smile, though he had no idea what Central Park was. He followed Jude still, adjusting the sleeves of his sweater.
(that's alright :)
Jude bounced on his heels and walked with Nyx down the street, turning the same corner he'd walked down hundreds of times. He outstretched his hands at their new sight of the park as they found a pathway, "Ta-daaa" Jude sang, "Almost three and a half whole kilometres of a Jogger's paradise. It's fun for kids, too."
Nyx blinked, looking at the park. The greenery seemed strangle incongruous in the metal and glass of the buildings that surrounded it. A park like this, in the center of a city, seemed so strangely out of place. He nodded a little bit. "It's…it's lovely."
"I guess," Jude shrugged, chuckling and aligning his steps with the cracks in the pavement, "It's really easy to get lost in here– it's so damn big. But yeah, it's nice." He thought back to one of his happiest moments; when he was six, and his parents took him here, holding his hand and swinging him forward. It was blurry and short, but the memory was something he desperately clung to. "Apparently the park's bigger than Vatican City."
